  1. So I don't have my mouse wheel bound to zoom. I like having my character zoomed way out. After each death/load in I have to rezoom. I've almost had it... Am I missing a setting? If not then for the love of all things of the Force, can we please have an option to fix our camera zoom! I don't think that is asking too much.

    Turn off smart camera.

  2. All honesty I don't think people here or any other mmo currently available is ready for GW2. But to understand what GW2 has to offer you have to play it to believe it, just IMO :)

On the contrary, I believe majority of MMORPG players are dying for something new, different, and polished...

  3. of EA/Bioware completely shifting gears from all perspectives and start marketing the game as a single player game with multi-player aspects?

I have been thinking and it seems obvious to me with the recent changes in management, people leaving, free2play, emphasis on single player content and lack of overall commitment to the game that everyone is waiting for GW2 release and what kind of impact it will have on the game. I am afraid that, if GW2 succeeds in grabbing the majority of the players left in this in game, we might completely be suprised by this change in direction.

  4. Was more talking to the people complaining about getting the gear. I didn't think it was so bad each piece was a bit of an upgrade and I could notice it. That's what I had to look forward to and it made it alright. Yeah, it sucks and what not that's why I along with a lot of people are going to gw2 even no QQ pvp. Overall the pvp system here is flawed and this game will never be what it once was or could have been. Hopefully gw2 is as promising as it looks.

I am downloading it as we speak and can not wait for the 25th.

  5. Which developers decided they were going to play melee toons? if any of them play the game still...

Melee range is insanely far out, and Jedi are almost impossible to kite in this game with any degree of success.

Oh you used Jet Boost? I'll instantly jump back to you and stun you by knocking you down.

And no, I'm not a pyrotech.

I realized this yesterday while playing my Pyro. It is retarded to see that I am getting hit pretty much at the max Flameburst distance...

  6. The fact of the matter is...it really doesn't take all that long to get the war hero gear even if you a casual player. Yes, gear differences are unfair I guess but welcome to MMO's that have been coming out in the last 10 years. If people did less QQing on the forums and actually played the game they would have their set by now. If your not winning ever and can't get any comms maybe the problem is you. Find a team and win some games this is an MMO after all.

Bro, you are not getting this so let me lay it out to you again.

I have already stated that I have WH gear. All my toons are 18k+ HP... I HAVE THE FRIKIN GEAR.

What I am telling you is that, it is not my problem, it is our problem collectively. The less people play this game due to gear disparity and grind there is, the least we all benefit. It is obvious now, or should be, based on the trend of MMOs, they are going more casual by day. You are not going to survive, or if you do only to be mediocre with 250k players by having this type of grind. Even WoW doesn't have this for their latest arena gear and getting it is much faster.

AND NOW, you have a game like GW2 coming which pretty much will destroy every bit of PvP that is left in SWTOR by realizing, finally, that PvP is about SKILL, FUN, and CREATIVITY rather then the hamster wheel that is gear grinding.

So, there was a time for Gear Grind, but that time has long past. The genre is moving out of it. Are we the players? Or are we keep thinking and talking about EQ constantly and living in the past?

  7. Unfortunately that's how this game works. Yes, because I played more I do deserve better gear. I put more time into my character doing warzone after warzone, and learning how to win and master a class. I'm all for equal pvp gear from the start, but just because you don't want to spend to time farming gear in this game doesn't mean you deserve it for free. It's because of the way they set it up from the start that you don't deserve it for free. What do I get in return for all the long grind for the gear when they hand it out like candy?

Are you kidding me? Having the superior gear over majority and taking every bit out of this advantage in every WZ you are playing is not enough?

    Some people I swear...

  8. I bet the team of 8 with skill, will finish their WH grind faster (and have tripled their rating) against the team who thinks it's just about time. BTW, how high is your midichlorian count?

This would be true if all the skilled players had the SAME EQUAL TIME to grind out. All things equal, as in Player A have the same skill as player B, player B simply would get gear much faster because he PLAYS MORE.

    At the end TIME>SKILL.

Eat your 9000 crit in the face.

  9. Being entitled to live is completely different than being entitled to the best pvp gear in a game that forces players to have pvp gear progression.

There is no such thing as PvP Gear Progression. Progression indicates that somehow you are advancing through a sequence. Progression applies to PvE where you are facing increasingly difficult challenges which requires more powerful gear to beat.

You are delusional by thinking somehow you sitting infront of a computer longer than others give you the right to have the best gear in the game. What have you done to achieve that gear? Did you beat the most powerful mobs in the game? Nope. Did you perform an amazing feat no others can? Nope. You simply pressed more buttons and mouse clicks then the rest. FFS you didn't even have to win a certain percentages of WZs to achieve the best gear. YOU KEPT PLAYING AGAINST SAME PEOPLE OVER AND OVER.

ALL YOU HAD TO DO IS SIMPLY PLAY MORE. Don't think because you play more, you deserve more.

  10. Yea that is definitely a valid point. I could see there being no gear progression, stat wise. But I just want something to mark my progress and gear is a nice way of doing that. If anything, it should at least allow for gear grinding to get cosmetic gear.

I am all for that too. If you are willing to spend the time get gear that will only make you LOOK ****** but not MAKE you ******, that is perfectly fine.

  11. I still don't understand why people feel some sense of entitlement to the best gear in an MMO. Either way that's why GW2 looks cool, atleast it will shut up the QQ carebears.

I don't want the best PvE gear and I don't deserve it.

However, there should never be a gear disparity in PvP period. It doesn't make sense and it has no room in MMORPGs. The only progression in PvP should be in the ranks to see who are the top dogs and not in gear...

  12. You do realize abolishing gear disparity has nothing to do with RP'ing

He knws that. He is trying to say that because I play on a RP-PVP server, I know nothing about PvP. In reality I don't RP at all, and would be out of my server for another PvP competitive server in no time if I had the chance...

Also, for the record, my toons are all over 18k HP and running best WH Enhancements... I stopped doing the grind for the WH Power mods bc it is becoming increasingly annoying...

  13. Someone sounds bitter at life lol

I'm sure you weren't serious, but that's not the reason people with WH gear dont want it to be free. The real reason is, most of those people are playing an MMO on purpose, and they want some sense of gear rarity. Its part of the genre. If this game had all gear for free and you didnt have to work for anything, it wouldnt be an MMO. If you dont like it, you may want to consider a game console such as the PS3. Those game have cheat codes to unlock everything for you so you dont have to do anything yourself.

Nah, I get it perfectly. I have been playing MMOs since UO and never before WoW was there a such thing as PvP gear. Actually Dark Age of Camelot was a prime example of how getting end game PvP gear was so easy and there were thousands of people still playing regardless of the lack of gear on a stick dangling in front of them.

I am all for gear progression for PvE, which if we are talking about the early days of MMO, all there ever was. It is logical, it is understandable. In order to beat a harder boss, you need better gear. Well guess what, players are not Bosses and there should never be a gear disparity in Player vs Player combat. It is simlpe as that...

  14. You don't seem to get it. Competitive guilds would rather play the same 2-3 good guilds, as opposed to playing 25 bad teams that offer no competition. You will never understand this, simply because you won't ever be in that position.

So you are saying that it is better to have 3 guilds running RWs then 25 so-so guilds? You do realize that a COMPANY, who wants to make money from their product, will never ever cater to hardcores right? Please say yes so I know that you are not completely brain dead...

  15. I have no sympathy for people who complain about not being able to run RWZ because of gear. RWZ is NOT for the causal player, it's for hardcore pvpers that want to see where they stand on the server. Casual player = regular wz and stop the QQ. Grind out war hero gear through regular wz like the rest of us did.

No thanks. I'll just wait until they either a) offer gear in the cash shop or b) lower the cost of gear.

Until then, have fun playing against the same people every night.

  16. I love the gear beat me droolers, RP-PvP servers that way dude ------->

You still don't get it do you? Without abolishing the gear disparity and making gear, for today's standards, such a grind to acquire, it is easy for people to quit trying. Because, you know, this is only a game and people don't have neither the time nor the motivation to spend 3 months playing casually to acquire gear to compete so that they can start to have fun.

If you make the gear disparity disappear, you only leave skill as an excuse to quit trying. Well I guarantee you people are a lot more competitive then they are grind tolerant.

So, you abolish gear grind for PvP and give more incentives for people to run RWs, such as establishing a web page where there are statistics for RW teams displayed, MVPs are selected based on performence, Showcase of RW matches that were so close it was nail biting, etc.

Gear incentives for PvP DO NOT WORK. Understand that already.

  17. Not at all, since this game ALLOWS up to 4 man groups to que for regs, and does NOT allow solo queue's for Ranked.

Take that in your pipe and smoke it, game doesn't need to be any more dumbed down for the baddies, which is my only point to the thread.

With that attitude, good luck with playing 100 people 6 months from now, IF the game is still running.

The time for Hardcore MMORPGs are long gone. Deal with it.

  18. That's just it Khalifa, they don't care if they win or lose, they simply want to farm period.

It doesn't seem so long ago when the masses wanted 8 man queue's to seperate themselves from pugs, and now, we're hitting reverse mode because most PvP types have left and the carebears are coming out from under the rocks lol.

Do you even realize why "most" people stopped running RWs? The only reason was that the gear disparity between hardcore PvPers and casuals were so big that getting farmed all day every day was not fun for most casuals.

You and people like amaze me. Obviously, you are in the minority given the state of the Ranked warzones. So, you have two options; a) either change teh complete mindset of casuals who do not like the gear disparity and the t ime it takes to acquire gear, or b) cut the grind out of PvP Gear and let people participate in PvP while in equal terms.

Obviously one of these things are much easier to accomplish then the other...

  19. People who would quit at war hero gear giveaways would be those who need the crutch to begin with. There's no real achievement in grinding out gear, imho.

So what if person X earned it the grind way? What does it really matter? It's imaginary items that affect a game. Moreover, at some point the gear will be antiquated anyway.

I'm 11/14 War Hero right now, and could honestly care less if everyone was given 14/14 tomorrow. Good PvPers will still be good PvPers, you'd just lose those who suck at a leveling playing field.

Of course, my view is in the minority though. I'm just one of those - give everyone access to everything and let's see how good you actually are - or aren't - people.

The sole reason why people are against this is because for some psychopathic reason, people need to justify to themselves that they have been neglecting their work, their families, their loved ones, and their chores to get Full WH gear and it needs to feel like such a hard and valued accomplishment. Otherwise, they will realize that this is only a game and it doesn't matter what the person next to you have in terms of pixeled gear or how they acquired it.

    Sad... really, really sad.

  20. Be honest, the ONLY reason why peeps want this, is due to gear farming. Period.

RWZ's are for cooridinated groups, I really have NO desire to read endless amounts of QQ on the forums how an 8man group wrecked 8 solo QQ'ers, as well as those carebears who are going to sit at a node and farm medals.

Having solo ranked WZ's completely negates the reason for having regular WZ's, and I simply have not seen ONE valid reason to implement such an awful idea. I wish the carebears would stop asking for this, and miss the PvP types who don't have entitlement issues.

    /pvp_qq_end

I am sorry that hardcore-grind-loving nature of MMOs are changing and more games now cater to carebears than ever. Soon, every new MMO will start abolishing this disease of needing to grind to get gear for PvP.

I am willing to bet a $100 bucks that SWTOR, in the near future, will offer PvP gear in the cash shop. Then you can run RWs all day everytday against the same handful of guilds...

  21. I'm not sure why I bother, QQers will always QQ, but here goes. The operative, specifically the lethality operative, can not only handle maras, but is a counter class to them. Here is why, we have sustained ranged dps and maras have no effective method of closing on us in cover. To beat a Mara you have to play like a sniper. You set up at 30 meter and drop your poisons plus an explosive probe (poisons also have a slow). Since the Mara can't stun you he has to walk up to you instead of leap meaning no resourse boost for him and about 6 moves head start for you. Once he closes debilitate him and use the sprint to get range again. When he closes again blow your adrenal probe, restealth, hidden strike, shiv, BS, cull, cull, shiv, cull. If he uses ravage blow evasion to completely avoid it. If he stealths, laugh, because it will break instantly due to poisons, if he uses undieing rage, sever tendon, clense (to remove his slows), run for 10 sec, then stab him one more time. Assuming I have my cooldowns up, I have NEVER lost a fight to a solo Mara. For reference, I'm lvl 50, mostly in min maxed BM level gear with augments. Rank 67.

Actually, it is quite easy to beat both Pyrotech PTs and Marauders as Concealment. Marauder are actually one of the easiest classes for me to beat...

My operative is in Full BM gear with full augments and WH enchanments running 1028 Power, 30% crit and 76% surge and I own Marauders all day. There are actually two very high end geared Marauders on my server that always attack my operative and my alt PT whenever they see me because I beat them so bad. Also one of these guys has about 20k HP...

You just have to know when to cleanse yourself from Mara dots and Pyro Dots...

  22. The quote you used says right there that the two-hour-per-day data didnt actually exist in the original source document, and is a number basically pulled out of the council's rear. Even if it did, it would have been a guideline for *children*... I dont think there's anyone here with a job that has less than 2 hours of "screen time".

    In short... more opinion.

I think you are in denial of your addiction... just saying.

  23. Not to sound like a zen master or anything but it's not all about the goal, it's about the journey, if you like pvp then you'll do the wz no matter what, even if it is in 1-5% less effective gear.

This is so not true. I enjoy PvP, I don't enjoy being thron into PvP with ****** gear.

for the record all of my toons have about half WH and I legacy mail enhancements back and forth. Yet, I still think Gear Progression has no place in PvP whatsoever. It blows my mind that these so called PvP players enjoy gear progression. Gear Progression is for pixel Dragonslayers and not for the true PvP player swho enjoy skill based combat rather then Gear Advantage,

  24. The gear gap of what? The whole week it would take casual pvper to get a set of Battlemaster and augment it out? My heart bleeds.

If you didn't pvp with a lower level character and just PvE'd your way to 50 and now expect to hop right into level 50 warzones, then it just sucks to be you. Really, the options are there. If you did not take advantage of them, that's just tough. Bioware even took the steps to rework the rewards for the lower level PvP system so that you can get your Warhero Weapon and Battlemaster Offhand, should you be a duel weilding class, IMMEDIATELY upon hitting 50 if you merely just played lower tier pvp even casually while leveling.

When the new gear comes out, they will wait a patch and make today's Battlemaster the equivalent of War Hero. Until then, I hope your local convenience store is in walking distance so you don't blow all your gas money on kleenex runs.

Ahh I am going to enjoy your tearsofQQ when the latest PvP gear is going to be sold in the cash shop for $$.

And yes, if you think they are "just" going to offfer some leveling blues in the cash shop, you are delusional. It is called "testing the waters". Introduce a low impact starter gear first, then gradually work your way towards offering more and more gear. Perfect way to slowly get people used to the idea of selling gear for $$.
