Its a Ranged attack and doesnt benefit from any of the plus crit talents, RS isnt considered elemental or Tech. and No ive got close to full warhero gear, 1600 aim 78% surge 500 power, rolling with 250ish crit, sure you could stack more crit but RS will be doing only about 1600 base dmg which translates to 3.3k crits and not these famous 4k+ crits Burnout = 3% crit for tech (doesnt apply to rail shot) Prototype Burnout Enhancers = 6% crit for elemental (doesnt apply to Railshot) Prototype Cylinders = 3% crit for Tech (doesnt apply to Railshot)

  6. the number is closer to 40%, 25% base ranged + 15% the only talents for crit are for elemental and tech. here you go again down playing others and presenting extremes as norms. you also failed to meet my challenge of explaining what you would change about a pt pyro and how it will effect the playstyle. you've also failed to key in on any one aspect should i assume you want the entire class deleted from the game?
  7. actually the bigger sample size of GCD's you take 7-10 you'll see the pyro dmg falls more in line with other classes. no more in built crit then other classes but there is a 15% crit set bonus from pvp gear. and you cant justify nerfing an ability cause of a set bonus.
  8. Charged burst = Flame burst (in terms of function) Charged burst does more damage then flame burst if anything it needs to be balanced around aimed shot dmg
  9. so you suggest our dps rotation consist of 2 15 second cooldowns 1 10 second cooldown and then flame burst? if you want to remove the 6 second proc then give me another ability to use to fill out my rotation You can also argue that the pyro's "big hitter on a long cooldown" is actually Thermal detonator, just saying.
  10. reduce the armor pen but buff the base dmg since RS is already the least hitting white dmg attack on a 15 second cooldown

  12. 65 pages and you've done nothing but down play or debunk everything thats been said in this thread. doing a great job of describing all powertech players as people who are on top of not only their own rotation but the other classes as well which in the end is nothing but Theorcrafting. In the end my question to you is... since you feel so strongly pyro needs a nerf what would you change? according to you every aspect of the class is overpowered so please just once instead of putting others down and carrying on, offer up your game design changes since you're so obviously informed.

Mobius are you arguing that the slow is too powerful or is it the burst or maybe the aoe you have problems with? next you'll say we have 30m execute moves at 40%. well maybe not but it does seem like you want to argue for the sake of arguing Has it ever crossed your mind that the slow is the only way a pyro can be effective? without the slow and the ability to kite the class would be broken, without kiting how else can i win a dps race to 30% when warriors/agents are involved? Guess what even if i win the race to 30% in a toe to toe fight i dont have an execute move. Anyways please tell me how a pyro can be effective without the slow? whats to prevent every range class from kiting with impunity or any melee forcing a face to face confrontation where i gotta burn 100% of their life before i get to 30% since executes are one hit finishers. please tell me how the slow which is such a core mech of a pyro is OP in that context? and please give some suggestions on how we can maybe tone down the slow but still be able to effectively be in range and kite when needed? Perhaps we can argue that the front loaded burst of a pyro can be lowered when we are given an execute move which would make a pyro just like everyone else which is the whole point of this thread right?

Yes, you can only use that combo once per battle, its rare TD will be off cooldown at the same time as RS once engaged in battle. and no you cant kill someone then bounce to the next target and do the same opener unless you dont use FB or RP and let the full 15 seconds cooldown reset RS but then theres 15 seconds where you do almost no damage at all.
  15. you're wrong, a pyro's initial combo of TD, RS proc RS are only usable as an opener as well. because the 15 sec cooldown on TD and the inability to fire off 2 rail shot quickly after the first salvo
  16. pretty sure if a pyro didnt have a mechanic to stay within 10m of a target he would be a very weak class
  17. alright i admit i assumed your jugg was full tank spec when i made those comments, Rail shot isnt always gonna be on a 6 sec cooldowns, sometimes you can even go the full 15 seconds spamming and not get one proc.
  18. what burst are you doing? cause at lvl 15 you lack the core talents that make up the burst rotation
  19. Sure if everyone has 1600 aim, 500 bonus dmg, and 78% surge, these are my stats and my rail are 3.7-4.1. (3.4k vs tanks).Its more likely that the majority of players are anywhere from 2.5-3.3k and im not sure how protection is calculated however if it only counts the difference, offhand i think its 30% then you're telling me that this powertech did over 30k damage in 6 seconds? its convenient to count the time that your guardian got crit back to back but not the time where you dodge the first rail shot and shielded the second non crit for 700 dmg. Chances are higher that any 2 railshots will not crit/dodge/shielded then both of them critting.
  20. Bioware needs to be very careful cause any negative dps changes to the tree will push them out of raid viability for anyone who enjoys pve aswell.
  21. why are people so concerned about what class can do burst dmg in warzones? why not talk about the classes that actually bring game changing mechanics to a warzone such as a guardian tank ball carrier in huttball for example? Also why the push to nerf dps in WZ when dps is the biggest thing missing from high end warzones where over 50% of a team is tanks and healers.
  22. all i know is when plasma cell was broken for republic the slow would be applied absent the dmg from the dot making the chance that the slow is applied on dmg very slim. its more likely applied when the effect is applied either from ion pulse, hammer shot, or hib. making the 100% uptime snare theory just a myth.

People are quick to point out the 90% armor pen rail shot has, but not so quick to point out its prolly got the lowest white damage on a 15 sec cooldowns of any other class. my lvl 35 gunslinger hits for 2k aimed shot in a WZ on a 9 sec cooldown my full WH conqueror Vanguard hits for 1.8k with railshot (including armor pen) how is railshot not balanced with other classes big white dmg long cooldown attacks?
  24. the 60% armor pen is low in the tree to try and balance the armor pen a commando will get from AP cell. its important to remember that armor pen is more about normalizing the dmg between tanks and casters This ability is meant by design to have high armor pen the proof is reflected in its low base dmg im currently rolling with 1772 aim and 319 power and according to the abilty description it will do between 1718-1940 Weapon dmg compare this with other abilities that also share a 15 second cooldown anything thats either weapon damamge or kinetic and what youll see is high impact bolt to be fairly weak by comparison.
  25. Sorry im not trying to say that Battle Focus guarantees a 4-6 crit hit streak everytime. im just saying Vanguards are getting the attention cause we are able to miracle chain crit slightly more often then others.
