  1. I was going to write a long post about how I was worried that this would destroy community. I realized I'd be rehashing everythign others have said. So I'll put it like this instead: a MMO can go one of two routes: 1) Focus on the Massive We open things up so that you can do anything you want with random faceless people. You don't have to ask, the game will find these faceless people for you. And you don't have to see them ever again either, because they don't play on your server! 2) Focus on Community Your queues are longer. But you can build a name and a reputation. People know you, what you do and whether or not you're good at it. While your guild might be your family, your server becomes your extended family. I'm in favor of (2) obviously. I'll take queues that are 2-3 minutes. Hell I'd take 30 minute queues. And I'll have fun because I know who I'm playing with and against. And win or lose, that's something I find fun. Want shorter queues or a different spread of maps? Watch server balance and size.
  2. I live in on the East Coast of the US. I regularly play with a friend who lives in New Zealand. There was a time when we both would get DCd at the same time during a WZ. It was EXTREMELY fustrating as it would be during a Void Star where our side was winning. So yeah. If you're gonna apply a penalty like that, make sure that Disconnects don't happen.
  3. Well in the vein of things: 28 Male, 50 Sage (Seer). Qyzen - I actually like him. I understand his Scorekeeper mentality, and aside from his standing in crap, he's not so bad. I did nearly all of my leveling with him. Ze Trandoshan is my friend . Theran - I don't like him. He's arrogant and I find that insanely off-putting. The only thing I like about Theran is Holiday. I like Holiday's character (because she's pleasant) and I like the ability. I only used Theran when I needed to have aggro (because Qyzen would stand in crap). Zenith - Is too withdrawn. And I don't really like him much either. Never really used him. Lt. Iresso - Nice guy. However I have no use for him so *Shrugs* he crafts for me. Ship's Droid - I swear if I hear "Bantha's Ear" or "Shimmersilk Purse" one more time I'll turn his metallic faceplate into a Shimmersilk Purse! Nadia - I like her. She's agreeable and although she acts like she's fairly immature she isn't too much of an issue. She stands in stuff like Qyzen though. I find some of her random voice emotes slightly irritating. Whenever she gave me the hurt emote I was usually saying to myself "Well if you didn't stand in crap it wouldn't be so hard to heal you." That's cause anything I'm healing is almost always about 75% if I can help it. So yeah. I like Qyzen and Nadia. Iresso and Zenith are Meh. Theran is eh. The droid can die in a fire.
  4. In the case of removing Expertise: Right now it looks like to me that your first sentence could be used here as well. People just don't want to get two sets of gear. Also: People will complain. If people weren't complaining about Expertise and things were as you wished, they would be complaining about PvP giving Welfare gear that was equivalent to the top end Hard-mode ops gear. And they'd be raising much more of a holy hell about it then people are about Expertise. And if you say that the equivalent Hard-mode ops gear isn't available through PvP you know EXACTLY what kind of complaints would arise then, and why.
  5. The common chant I have heard concerning making the same gear available through both PvP and PvE is that those who do PvE content complain about how easy it is to get the gear through PvP. They also complain that they now feel 'forced' to do PvP to get their PvE gear fast enough. How do you plan to answer that complaint? If you really wanted to make things 'balanced' in PvP across all gear here's what you'd do: All damage done to players by players does a % of the target player's health pool. All heals restore a % of the target player's health pool. All of the other stats are fixed to a specific value (I.E. crit % is fixed, surge % is fixed, haste % is fixed etc). This removes the whole gear issue. You could literally walk into a WZ naked and would be just as effective because gear no longer matters. If you want gear to matter, then you need to address the feuding between the PvE and PvP community.
  6. So I think ihateyouall is a mathematician... Aside from that, no I don't think that's the case. I have wins not count and I hardly ever leave a WZ. Example: I think it was saturday I had the quest and my first two matches (which were wins) didn't count. I think both were void stars as well. What I think: It doesn't depend on warzone, score or duration. It's probably more akin to why sometimes people aren't placed in the ops group for the WZ they are in. (NOT a 1-1 relationship to that. Just that the bug is similar.)
  7. I play a Consular. I've dropped a 5k crit heal while in PvP. The catch is I was under a Stim, used a Crit/Surge Relic, dropped a Healing Adrenal and the Expertise consumable. That and damage was flying all over the place. I do agree that healers don't get medals in numbers compared to other roles. However I don't have much of a problem getting MVP votes. Geared healers have a big impact on the battlefield and people notice that (because they notice who is healing them and they aren't dying).
