  1. That is because Rift made macros too easy and the way your skills worked allowed for it. Luckily, SW:ToR doesn't allowed for it due to GCD, Skill CD and procs. such as riposte not always being available.
  2. I don't click. I own a Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. It has 17 buttons for MMO gaming. I use them and keybind every button to my mouse and use modifiers when I start to use multiple quickslots. I have felt for a very long time that keyboard turners and clickers are a terrible thing for MMO communities as they are essentially free kills in PvP and they ruin the experience. So, to flip your statement on its head; If you don't use keybinds in some shape or form you should be banned. That is all.
  3. Guys. Macros are almost a must have thing in any MMO. There is a reason all of them have it. When you get level capped and you are doing PvP or PvE macros not only help improve your damage/utility but allowed you to also communicate with your team mates about what you are doing. PvE Example: You're in an end game instance / raid. Your tank has blown his cooldowns but your healers are too busy healing the DPS, the tank can macro his defensive cooldowns with a yell about the fact he's using them, thus placing a warning in chat to healers that he needs heals, and he needs them now. PvP Example: Say you play a sage. There are 4 sith running at you and you notice that one is low level (lets say level 15) so he doesn't have many skills or abilities yet, so his DPS / CC is not going to be an issue. You can use Force Lift on him and macro a yell telling everyone not to touch him and maybe, if you were good enough at macros his level and class choice so people know exactly who you are talking about. True, the game doesn't NEED macros, but without them it is unfinished and poorly executed. Any player with any kind of end game experience with MMOs knows that in either PvP or PvE macros are essential to up your utility thus making you more useful to your raid group and to communicate without having to stop and type out a full sentence.
  4. While I agree with your point that BioWare are better suited to single player games, I would like if everyone in the thread could be civil and have an actual conversation about the issues they are having be it with PvP or PvE, but thank you for your post.
  5. On another note. When I said I use my mouse for all my keybinds, that does not mean I am a clicker, it means I have a Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. It has 17 buttons. That is why I use my mouse for my keybinds.
  6. My post was days before they released the information about 50s brackets. Now that I've had more time to PvP I've found more issues. If you are casting a spell and you deflect / parry or block something, the casting animation stops so the defensive one will play. When your casting animation stops, so does your cast. 'Instant' melee moves do damage at the end of the animation, so the more elaborate the animation, the less instant the skill actually is. Since the latest patch people have been having more graphical errors and stuttering frame rates last but not least: I'm sure half the people that defend this game are on Bioware or EA's pay roll. I know as an individual in this particular circumstance I can't solely affect how this will go, but If I can articulate or help someone along, even if they don't agree with me I am entirely happy with that. You can be sarcastic all you like, but when you buy something and it doesn't work as intended / advertised, then you have every right to bring your issue to light. You SHOULD speak out, because if you don't, and no-one else did, then nothing would change.
  7. Because even if I got 50, like I said, I don't want to just demolish people, I want a challenge and a fair fight, on even-ish ground.
  8. I know a lot of people will not agree with what I said, and I understand and respect their right to free speech and thought. I posted this so people with similar problems could see the best way to deal with it. This is a business to all the companies and investors involved, so the only way they will fix any major issues quickly is if the community at large descides to unsub untill such times their issues are addressed. It isn't personal for me, you or even bioware/EA. It's just business. Complaining on forums and massing them with reports and e-mails wont have them work on a problem nearly as fast as people unsubscribing. They made this to make money, it players have an issue and loads quit over it, the issue will become top priority. Now, alot of people will tell me im wrong, i even expect a few to say 'grow up' but read what I have said and I am about to say. Kids stamp their feet and complain wanting THEIR problems fixed. I am however walking away from, as I see it, a broken part of a game until such time as it is fixed for all. Looking at PvP forums I can see that alot of people are having PvP issues, some shared with me, others I have not personally encountered. Which is why when I unsubbed I said the issue was PvP being broken. I listed my personal reasons, but I'm sure they see the underlying cause to be the PvP content itself and I hope it gets fixed soon. As of now, real life beckons. I wish you all nothing but fun in and out of the game in whatever you choose to do. Thank you for reading my post guys. I hope everything works out for you all.
  9. I feel the same. As I said before though, I'd rather wait a bit longer for a fairer fight than have an instant queue into a victory that was too easy and quick or a loss where I just never stood a chance.
  10. Cross realm could cause more problems than it solves in my experience. it ruins a realms community and just about halts any personal rivalry with people from your realm. While it would make queue times shorter, I'd rather wait longer for balanced, fun and over all fair game, ans randomly get a level 50 premade team chewing my level 14-30 team apart. I'd love to keep playing, work on community, set up world events like I have in other games, but it can't be done the way the game is now. 50s destroy anyone who isn't 50 (which is totally fine for world PvP, not for warzones) and I haven't found a realm forums page yet, maybe I just need to look again though, because admittedly I haven't spent much time looking for realm forums yet.
  11. Well, when I unsubbed I put the reason as PvP and wrote this; "While I understand the game is young from official launch date I do not understand how after years of development and so many man hours in beta testing the PvP is still as broken as it is. I will be unsubbing untill such times as these issues are addressed as they are the major concerns for me. 1) All PvP gear, regardless of its level, should have expertise, it is PvP gear after all 2) The Warzones get brackets to some effect, be it multiple brackets or even just 50s in their own BG 3) I have issues with my keybinds, any time I use CTRL as a modifier I cannot move my character untill I let it go, this to me is a glaring problem be it in PvE or PvE as I am not a clicker. I would like to keep playing, but as I only play for PvP and it seems so broken at the moment I will be unsubscribing from the game until it is in a better state. This is by all means a young, brilliant and very polished game. All my concerns are PvP and if it got fixed I would be back in a heartbeat."
  12. I'd rather wait and have a fair chance, as they don't have to remove bolster. And waiting 15 minutes for a fair fight is better than fast queues with so many 50's, be it my side or not, totally throwing the balance of the fight. You can quest or even just chat between warzones if the times were longer, but right now you can't. And while I understand everyone would rather have more games of lesser quality, I'd rather have more fun in this virtual world, which means a fair fight. And this goes the other way. If I was 50 I wouldn't enjoy destroying people who had no chance against me. Warzones are a team game, anyone seeking personal glory isn't helpful to the team.
  13. Bolster is nice in theory, but it only boosts stats you have not stats you need. And 50s are currently doing to pvp wha those '9's would do. Only, if someone is within 8 levels and everyone has bolster, you have a chance. So brackets would work.
  14. You're missing my point. Expertise increases PvP effectiveness, like it says when you hover over it on the character panel. That 15% damage (as a dpser) is almost completely mitigated by anyone in superior gear as I still do not gain the much needed stat of expertise.
  15. I am not level 50. My issue is that lower level pvp gear has 0 expertise on it even though it is PvP gear.
  16. So you think it is entirely fair for any PvPer, new to the game or not, to just get steam rolled by 50s, at the games level cap, even if they are only level 10? This is a terrible way to think. PvP brackets would solve half the PvP problems. I understand a 50 should beat me, higher level and better gear, I cannot and will not dispute that fact. My issue is that while leveling I must face people twice my level, with gear that has stats purely for pvp that, at my level, the stat doesnt exist. The PvP has some major issues.
  17. I know exactly what it means. You assume I have the time to level in any hardcore fashion when I mainly only get weekends to power into it. This time of year I have family obligations, some of which are my kids. You are picking fault with me instead of my argument. This is called an Ad hominem argument. The points I made are valid, I just don't have the time to level right now. Not only that, even if I was 50 I don't want to face roll over lower levels for a win, I want a challenge, it is after all why I prefer PvP to PvE. PvE: Scrited battles, keep trying you WILL eventually understand an encounter and win - computer programmed to eventually fail. PvP: Not scripted due to human element of players. You can never be 100% sure what a player will do. - This is a challenge and what I play for. Now, before you say "lawls you want a challenge and wont fight higher levels" I don't mind being in a bracket, (lets say, for argument's sake level 10- 14 as 14 is when you can buy some pvp gear) where I could be the lowest entry level into the bracket and still have a chance against the highest level of said bracket. This would mean the pvp geat at 14, 24 etc etc arent that detrimental to the game as they dont have expertise anyway, so really its just a better option for said level. however when I'm 25 and I'm fighting 1 or more 50s, sometimes solo, between stuns I generally wont have a chance to move as resolve doesn't stack fast enough for it and in said stun they can just nuke me down. This is why they need to bracket pvp, and possibly add expertise to lower level PvP gear.
  18. I know it is a multiplier buff, but it is supposed to buff expertise, my point was that low levels, stuck in warzones with 50s, have no expertise making it essentially a moot point to have this buff for them.
  19. I never said I was a clicker. Side bars take up viewing room bottom bars do not due to camera angles. I use a Razer Naga 17 button MMO mouse, I use alt, ctrl, ctrl+alt and Shift as my modifiers. And thanks for reminding me; 4) When I use control as a modifier for an ability I cannot move my character, he stops moving.
  20. I, as an avid PvPer on many games and genres am quiting ToR untill such time as ; 1) All PvP gear gets expertise. What is the point of PvP gear without expertise on in when that is a major stat in PvP. 2) PvP gets brackets. I don't know who came up with the bolster buff, or placing an expertise buff in a warzone when lower levels dont have expertise at all. 15% of nothing is still nothing. 3) The UI has more options. I dislike side bars and having only 2 at the bottom when I use my mouse for all keybinds isn't ideal. I am not 'crying' or 'whining' I am unsubbing as it is the only language a company will understand. Even if I am the only one to do it, I at least wont be playing a game that demands you be level capped to enjoy PvP. This game has many virtues, it has few major flaws, over all considering its age it is a very polished MMO. The only down side is the PvP being so severely broken. I'd like to keep playing, I'd love to PvP when ever I can, the issue is the PvP being as broken as it is ruining an otherwise brilliant game. Rage, troll, do whatever you want. I do advise that if you want them to hurry the PvP fixes you unsub as it makes it a big problem for them. Complaining wont get through as quickly as people leaving due to the PvP content. TL : DR - Unsub if pvp is your issue and put it as your unsub reason. It will get through much quicker than complaining on forums.
