I would argue that Revol or Talos would be better for PVP. Revol is less kiteable and has decent burst, while Talos makes green numbers, which are always welcome.
Darkness spec, I went with Khem (DPS stance, taunt ON) until I got Revel.
Revel was about 50% of my total damage, and was better at assisting and not breaking CC than any DPS I've ran a premade with. Dude doesn't talk too much either. I ended up swapping to the healing companion when I got him, for stability as I started to go into content over my level wanting to keep the story moving.
Darkness/Madness using Dark Charge.
I liked running with Andronicus till I got this guy. While we kill a little slower I feel more secure about getting "Jumped" or getting through a second Silver add, and I don't even have to think about attacking single golds, I just do it. Not that I had trouble with them with Andronikus, his high dps was making up for not having anything other than a heal-pot for green numbers, there was sometimes some kiting involved here.
I was able to solo the entirety of the LVL 50 story at level 47 with Talos healing and me tank/dps.
However, I'm finding the 3 melee companions completely useless with these 2 around, admittedly I have not PVE-ed with Xalek.
Leveled up Darkness (23) and added 18 madness after.
Used Khem Val in DPS mode with taunts working, shared agro. As soon as I had Andronicus Pulls became much faster, he was doing about 40%+ of our combined damage and was always good at assisting me, without walking delay as he's ranged.
At 40-some I took the healer companion and put him in a full suit of PVP gear, smooth sailing from there. Soloed story-ending at 47.
23, 0, 18 Running with dark charge and shield. I feel like I'm very hard to kill and still do decent single target damage. Pull, 2 stuns, low cost double-shock, increased force regen, and 50% more crit damage on thrash. It all adds up. Only thing I don't like is the fact that Raze procs are hard to see, and I feel like I'm missing the extra damage I could be doing with that.
