No it's not my first mmo but it is the first one that I have played has allowed this. Attacking someone 20 levels below you is something only childish people would do.
What other mmos did you play on a pvp server where this DIDNT happen?

That means approximately 1 out of 100 players are likely to experience similar or worse results than you.
Go ahead and plug in your numbers if you feel like the system is broken and see if your results fall within the realm of possibility given the fact that there are thousands of people opening these bags.
It can be hard to gauge whether or not the system is working as intended based on such a small sampling size, especially on the forums.
The 1 out of 100 players that are getting 29 or more out of 80 are certainly not going to come to the forums to complain about it.
Because its random it would actually ever have to land on a Comm bag ever. It should increase the % chance by 1% up to 100% for each bag opened such that if you open 74 bags without a comm you get one at bag 75 (as you would be 100% chance to get a comm). Thus the worst case scenario would be 75 bags.
On the other hand you would have people gearing up faster and im not sure they want that.

Sometimes very few (3-4 no comms) and sometimes a lot (12-14 no comms) drop. However, the odds increase incrementally. Unlucky is one thing, to hit astronomical odds is another especially when others are hitting it also.

Should, there anomalies but 25% by its very nature its 1 in 4.My first 3 bags had tokens so someone else went at least 12 with none.
remember 25% game wide not account wide.
I wouldn't believe for a second that 25% is game wide. If you have that dev post please link. There is a great post above that shows the random but it still comes back to the definition i posted. The Devs made the choice to make it a low chance drop in the bags as a bonus. The real items from the bag are the currency. However, players dont see it that way. They see the item as the main focus of the bag and the currency as means to an end. If we just had the currency there would be no complaints (other than it maybe takes to long).

And yes, they could implement a system just like this. Nothing in the game mechanics in place today would stop it.
Considering they would have to build (or copy) all the code from War/DAoC i wouldnt hold my breath for it being in a patch this year

OK, so GW2 PvP is clearly superior, but on the other hand you dont have to pay a monthly fee for it...so i dunno

The biggest problem with STWOR is the shear ammount of CCs.
The CCs are not the problem as much as the anti CC mechanic which doesnt work. Even in DAoC, a game they have full access to which has longer and more CC has a better CC protection.

Dice humped.Dice Humped: Consistently getting a poor result from a random number generator. Originally was used when playing tabletop games, but was expanded to be used as a warning thought experiment for any truly random number in a system. "What happens if the player gets dice humped?" It's a test if the designer actually wants things random or just distributed.

The op should def get out his d7 set, we all know he has one he's playing a star wars game, pull out his two 10 sided dice and roll it 100 times and see how many times they hit between 1 and 25.Play it like you have Tyranids from 40k. 80 dice in a bucket, tip bucket over.

I didn't do anything of those things to that post. I just A) took the primary part of his argument and highlighted it because people should understand the drawbacks of the sniper B) Re worded something that didn't look right such that it would be easier to read for people
I made no criticism of his grammar, mostly because i would be the last person to do that.
However, feel free to continue your tirade against me and my ability to have a discussion with other people on forums.

There is a reason why marksman snipers always go for the squishy target: marksman shots have to a.) pass -ALL- available defense in-game to do damage b.)hit.
Fixed wording and order to help people better understand.

With the pools the way they are i would pass on diving them further until it can be accomplished without hurting the queue times. Like you said Cross server bgs.5 char

Are you actually arguing that running away from them, thus ending the fight, or asking someone else to kill them for you is a method of killing snipers as a warrior?
Hilarious. The point made was that there's little warriors can do on their own to attack them if the sniper/gunslinger knows what they're doing and you've just supported their argument.
A true strategy is to get close enough without them noticing (not easy for good snipers) for force choke/stasis, snare them (prevents them from using cover for the duration) and then wearing them down before it goes away or re-applying the snare if an opportunity arises.
If they have you in your sights at the edge of a raised platform in the distance, retreat is the only viable option, however. They are the paper to our rock in those circumstances.
As everyone keeps telling me on my Operative: "This game isnt balanced for 1v1". Such that i would not do things that put me in harms way of a class that WOULD have the advantage over me unless, like you point you, you have the upper hand.
Retreat isnt sexy but it can be useful.
Also i said nothing about asking anyone to kill the sniper for you, though that works too, i said bring a friend. Friends can be healers other snipers with distract (hey you can charge him then). As a team game there is nothing wrong with BAF.

Snipe would be more interesting if it built instead of had a cast time. Such that it would do more damage after certain time thresholds and cost less.

I'm not saying that wouldn't happen, but I still think that there needs to be a split between the brand new players (level 10ish) and the level 30 players.
As a Healer at level 10 you have 1 heal
As a DPS you have roughly what, 4 abilities you will use? and no survivability
As a Tank you dont exist, you still fall under a DPS because you have no unique tanking abilities till 16 when you get guard
My thought was that if you keep the lower levels grouped together it becomes more fun for them because they are fighting players who have the same type of skill.
Now I know this wont be possible giving the current server populations, and they probably will not do it unless they add in cross server bg queues.
I can still ask tho right?
