  1. Defenition of "Bounty": A bounty (from Latin bonitās, goodness) is a payment or reward often offered by a group as an incentive for the accomplishment of a task by someone usually not associated with the group. Synonyms for "Bounty": bonus, boon, gratification, prize, reward, reward for service, tip, token, tribute Examples for historic "Bounties": Bounties were sometimes paid as rewards for killing Native Americans. In 1862, a farmer received a $500 bounty for shooting Taoyateduta (Little Crow). In 1856 Governor Isaac Stevens put a bounty on the head of Indians from Eastern Washington, $20 for ordinary Indians and $80 for a "chief". Saddam Hussein took out a 60 million dollar bounty on Donld Rumsfelds daughters in response to the death of his sons. Other examples have been previously mentioned. My standpoint: Only in the 1900's did bounteis change from "Dead or Alive" to "Alive". Before that it was very normal to offer bounties for killing certain people or a group of people. Most important here, in my opinion, is the fact that "Bounty" is just another word for "Reward". Hence "Bounty Hunters" could just as easy could be called "Reward Hunters". I would imagine, that a lot of bounties that where issued "Dead or Alive" would be collected as dead. Simply because bringing in proof of death, not necessarily the whole body, was a lot easier than dragging in a live prisoner for miles and miles. My conclussion: The Bounty Hunter (and subsequent quest line) is completly in sync with the real world counterparts. Me (playing a Bounty Hunter) feel it is a lot simpler to kill the target, instead of hauling a huge cryofreezed (or whatever it's called) body halfway across the city/planet/galaxy. My 2 cents
  2. ***?! Please tell me you are playing on a US server.
  3. They would absolutely not. They would keep them packed and then go: "Oh well, we'll sell them in 2 weeks when everyone has forgotten everything about this launch." As soon as people get their access mail, they will not care about this anymore. I won't even dignify the rest with a response. (just aknowledge with the previous statement, that your ranting went on)
  4. So they've done 3 hours of invites (8m - 11am) and then go: "Okay guys, give yourselfs a hand. Lets call it a day." Well, I guess the workday has to end at some point. In Denmark we have a saying: What we don't get done today, we don't have to undo tomorrow. I guess BW/EA have heard that one too.
  5. Is this a statement or question? Argh... don't confuse me like that.
  6. Indeed. There is a difference between the European "Union" and the European Continent.
  7. yeah last I checked the UK was part of Europe
  8. I honestly don't see it happening (but hoping too). The forums are ablaze with threats about the current situation. They will probably keep to the "basics" in customer service: 1: Don't respond to individual posts. Responding to one particular post/point/threat will, in the eyes of the masses, make it more "valid" than those not repsonded to and fuel resentment. 2: If you comment, keep it generic and unspecific. If you do not respond in specifics nobody can hold you to a previous statement and with that make a valid counterpoint to discredit your expertise/knowledge. 3: Make comments in one generic threat started by yourself. This way you don't have to monitor 10 or 15 threats, but only one threat you can biuld on. Just my opinion.
  9. I don't think I can answer that without offending anyone, and will therfore choose not to explain. It was just a poor atempt of a joke , which has been corrected. Sorry
  10. Well, I'm from Denmark, and I for one feel no pride at all about Sweden beeing european. Neither in regard to gaming or otherwise. I like Sweden a lot. People are great, I just love the swedish winters. But I still think that "pride" is a very strong word to use. I do agree with the fact that Sweden produces a lot of really, really good players. But pride? nah.
  11. By looking at how much they have taken the european timetable into consideration so far and the quoted statements from forum officials, I don't see any form of evidence that they will take into consideration after offical launch. I know it's only been a day. I know that their plans could be totally different after lauch. I'm just saying that I don't see any avidance to the contrary. Please feel free to "educate" me, by showing me the point/evidence I missed.
  12. Without knowing how they have set up their servers, I persume that copies sold in EU only get EU server lists and therefore don't even get the chance to play on US servers.
  13. I agree, not the best example for a "civilised" european. He is fun to watch though.
