  1. Yes power boost bonus damage for ranged and tech attacks (including healing). However why invent another stat when there are already stats that do the same? Aim boots damage and tech power boost tech attacks and healing. I find the whole thing really weird. If an armor piece is needed with more dmg and more tech dmg, give it a bit more aim stat and tech power stat, which bzw. already exists as a stat on shield and weapon. Anyhow moot point I will take a break from the game and maybe when I come back in a month or two the dust would have setlled and thing like that get ironed out. One can hope hehe..
  2. So I finally got to lvl 50 with my shield speced powertech BH. I pretty much geared myself through the whole lvling process using armortech/scavenging/UT combo. My primary complaint about the armortech is just how much junk is created during reverse engineering process. First of all armortech is intended for non-force users. The force users have synthweaving for their gearing needs. Its obvious that heavy armor category in armortech is geared towards trooper/BH and medium towards IA/Smugler, hence all heavy pieces have for obvious reason aim/end as primary stats and mediums cunning/end. So why on earth are there recepies that have aim/end and power on them!! Who did BW inted to wear this armor? Now for reverse engineering. For each "tier" of armor there are in general available 3-4 types of recepies, which are broadly aimed at specs Healing/DPS/Tanking. So why on [insert favourite plannet here] does the recepie intended for tanks gets reverse engineered into overkill (+Power!!! on a non force user) and critical variants? And why does Redoubt variant boost +Def (which is of questionable benefit to a tank) instead of shield chance and/or absorption. Or if Redoubt was intended as "defensive" option for healing/DPS that wan't it, why isn't there a variant with a more direct benefit to the tanks, I mean there are plenty of blue mods/enchantments that have shield chance/absorption, so why not have a blue armortech recepies that have the same. Why do I have to RE up to a purple to get a meaningfull secondary stat on my armor (that is if I am lucky and get the tier 2 variant needed)? BW need to sit down and seriously go through that recepie mess. Now since I've been ranting I figure I can add something constructive. Have only one green recepie in each tier --> RE green into three blue variants aimed at 3 general specs DPS/Heal/Tank, primary stats should scale accordingly i.e.: Overkill (+ Crit, increase Aim > End) Critical (+Surge, increase Aim = End) Redoubt (+Shield chance or Absorption, increase Aim < End) RE to purple then adds another secondary stat Alcrity/Presence/Absorption and corresponding primary stat scaling. Alternativelly and actaully the option I would prefer to see: Give Armortechs only recepies for prototypes (Fixed primary stats AR/AIM/END, AR/Cunning/End for meds and two open slots for mod and enchantment) with linear RE. So REing will just scale primary stats and the rest can be tuned with mods/ench, nice and clean and no hundred useless recepie combinations. That way Armortechs will also better participate in economy, by getting at least part of their upgrades from other crafters and vice versa. Or it will make it easier to keep your armor uptodate from planetary commendations, since you can almost get 4 armor/ench for a price of armoring mod. And instead of wasting time making unneeded recipie combinations, make some recepies that give armortechs different looks, cause right now crafted armor was probably a result of a "design the ugliest armor" contest, especially helmets. So there! Criticism welcome, but much rather see ideas from others.
  3. I think making Proff. Exclusive items is just not going to work in the long run. Giving a certain bonus to one player over there other might not make having that bonus mandatory for players, but it might make it mandatory for some classes at least. So you are limited to maing the exclusives thast gives a bonus, thats is more of a convenience rather then a requirement. You can make exlusive adrenals with infinite uses, but you can't make them better then the ones with limited uses and available to other players. That way biochem crafter will save a pretty penny on the adrenals/medpacks in the long run, but it won't affect other players in terms of game/raid performance. You can give an exclusive raid quality armor recipie to armortechs that never has to be repaired. But you cannot make it statwise better then what other can get. And so on... But imo exlusivity is not the best way to go about this. Just my 2 cents.
  4. OMG get a brain, once the money is recouped the product becomes a cash cow, and so long as there is money to make the game will be agoing concern.
  5. imho skill trees in SWTOR are pretty crappy. Don't remember what it was in WoW never really liked the game that much, but have plenty of exp with AoC and more recently Rift, and thats what I'm hoping to see in SWTOR in the future. Main problem I have is that there is hardly any choice in SWTOR. To advance in a tree you pretty much have to pick every single skill in there, with an exception maybe of one or two. AoC and Rift you could spec within a tree in more then one way, boosting skills by playing of each other and leaving other be, and at the end you had anough skill points too go half way up the second tree. SWTOR just goes through the motions of looking like it gives a choice.
  6. Since everything is instanced in this game, I don't understand why they can't combine 4 or 5 servers into one. It's not like you will end up with the entire server population in on zone, or even if you will there will never be more then like 30 per instance, but at least you will have more ppl total on the server, easier grouping/raiding and the like.
  7. I could swear that reading posts from No-LFG/LFD tool crowd is like reading news about the recent actions by the ultra-orthodox element in Israel. They keep whining that the society doesn't conform to their point of view, and try to force upon everyone else their morality choices. If you don't drink alcohol, use condoms and watch the TV, doesn't mean no one else is allowed to do that either. You can have your guilds/friends/elite group/general channel LFG spam, let us more casual players have an LFD/LFG tools, it may save us some time and let us actually play the game more in what little time we have between working, family abligations and what not.
  8. Lets also all write to Bioware that they don't have to include any side quests in the upcomming ME 3, or better yet start a campaign against Bethesda, so they remove all the unecessary stuff outside of the Skyrim's main storyline.
  9. That should be an indicator for you thats this is a luxury item. Rank 3 speeder ads another 10% and the skill for it costs way more then for rank 2. At this point you should ask yourself if you want to invest more then a million credits for 20% speed increase. Its called responsible money managment. Thats how most MMOs work, necessary stuff you can get relativelly easy, for everything else you gotta work.
  10. 40k at lvl 25 is nothing. I have a powertech with armortech, scavenging and underworld trading levelled beyond my ability to use at my lvl (could craft lvl 30 items at lvl 25) and I still had about 60k AFTER I bought my skills. What did you spend all your money on?
  11. No reason to be ************ about the game because it doesn't support game play mechanics that you are not used too. It's a different game, and thats that. As for smooth combat, AoC had the best imho. Especially if you were a melee class. Combos that required active input, and next move preselect made for a continuous wave of carnage. Really made you feel like you are there flinging those mobs around, with occasional execution move, chopped off heads or both arms.....
  12. I have a perfect game for you. Go to Aion, you will spend countless hours beating monsters to pulp, just to go up one level. Then I have better news for you, after the early levels are done, you can do the same in Abyss, but this time you can look forward to being ganked by a max lvl in epic gear every 10 or so minutes. This will give you plenty of time to enjoy the game.
  13. Well I played about 10 hours on Balmora yesterday. Came to the planet lvl 18, right now lvl 22 and just reached the start of bonus series quests. And I can't say that I was sitting around doing nothing. I lvled my tradeskills, did quest solo and in groups and generally enjoyed myself. I naturally can't put in 10 hours into the game every day, since I have to work for a living, so at this pace the game is going to last me for some time.
  14. I think "dark side" is way more inline with reality, granted there are some choices I would have not made if it were not for dark/light side points (the games, unfortunatelly, rarelly reward middle ground, its either all in in one side or you gain nothing), but up untill now playing as bounty hunter made for a very enjoyable experience.
  15. 5th Dec 2011: launcher just let me in, no mail yet tho Edit: Got e-mail too
  16. I know!! I keep telling myself that, I could have spent the evening doing something nice or productive, if it wasn't for this retardet choice of not telling ppl when they will get in
  17. Hehe nice one, but I really do hope karma is not real....can you imagine what woud happen to the devs after what they made us go through, if it was real?
  18. They just brought a fresh EU PvE server online, probably enough to fit the rest of EU December preorders on it
  19. ...twitter says another wave (8th) will come today 5th Dec btw, still not in
  20. Tried checking my account "SWTOR.com is temporarily unavailable as we are experiencing extremely high traffic. Please check back again soon!" lol the EA just DOSed themselves with their "maybe you get in today, and maybe not", I can imagine how manny ppl I trying to log in and out of the site
  21. Yea the serves are complettelly pwned hehe I hope they do have some on standby ready to go
  22. 05/12/11 Still waiting - Starting to get late in Europe, even if I get it today and manage to get in, not sure any time will be left to play.
  23. Sith on sith violence not allowed? Seriously now, thats the way it will go. I haven't seen MMORPGs where the whole concept of factional warfare on a grand scale works. Best example of the worst execution of that is Aion, either Ely complettelly steamrolls Asmo, or other way round, there is no middle ground.
