  1. I think the real trick with mortar/dfa is that you should be doing it close range. When there is a bunch of ae effects going off its really hard to see a mortar volley placed at 5 meters.
  2. Against an operative fully geared, no tenacity is pretty equal to no win 1v1. If I have tenacity up I let them knock me down a couple times, burn tenacity at resolve fill then face hump them to death. It is really hard for them to deal with you in close range, so keep the pressure on. If you don't have tenacity up, they CC you for so much burst (in my build) that you will have a hard time recovering. Ops/snipes tend to be one of the easiest fights for me. Stealth Scan is your friend.
  3. ^ This is pretty much what I am talking about. WE almost always lose 1v1 to tank speced assassins. It happens to me over and over. It really feels like they are the paper to our rock. The Stealth Scan trick works! My kill rate is up higher than it was yesterday. Assassin at 30-40% HP, drop Stealth Scan and rofl. It does not always work, but it works enough to be practiced.
  4. I think this might be worth testing. The reasoning behind not picking up the eliminator set is the lack of a two set bonus for vanguards. Combatech: (2) Increases the duration of Carbonize or Neural Surge by 0.5 seconds, and reduces the cooldown of Determination or Tenacity by 15 seconds. (increased survivability,tempo setting) (4) Increases the critical chance of Rocket Punch or Stockstrike by 15%(even though your jousting you still run in to SS every time its up.) Eliminators: (2) Reduces the cooldown of Jet Boost or Concussion Charge by 5 seconds. (Vanguards don't get this ability at all so its a worthless bonus) (4) Increases the critical chance of Rail Shot or High Impact Bolt by 15%(worth testing) Oh yeah more discussion on what we kill and what we don't please. I would not mind pointers on how to kill Sith Assassins, any one that does it on the regular and wouldn't mind sharing the strat?
  5. I understand the SS mechanic. I just hit it while I am Running threw them to run away from them. "Jousting" is the term I like to use. Unload as your running threw them then kite them around. When ever they inevitably face hump you SS. "Shrug" I'm trying the gut spec again today, best gear for it still combat tech or some thing else?
  6. Well neural surge in full pvp gear is 3 seconds long not 2.5. Combat Tech gear. While they also have a slow yours is at range while theirs is not. I also find them saber warding before a surge to be rare. It is normally right afterward. During neural surge you should be moving back into an outbound position. If they saber ward threw your Neural surge thats great! Spam Hammer shot instead of burning your combo. You gain ammo, they lose small portion of HP. As soon as they come out of the stun you should be Dropping heavy dps again. When they come out of the stun they will try and burn you down. But now your running both offensive and defensive cds while they are only running offensive cds. They will almost always save undying rage for the last little bit of their hp. If they pop Tenacity at your Cryonade you should still be moving out of range and they most likely will not have leap off of CD. I almost always live threw it just by moving away as I start my nade toss. I actually get to practice against a Battlemaster Sentinel in duels on a regular basis. He hates Vans/ptechs in assualt/pyro. He says it is surprisingly hard to stay on top of us if we keep moving. Do not let them face hump you and you pretty much win. First Op's Build: I find paralytic combat stims to be less useful than Adrenaline fueled. 2 points in a talent to get one cell back on stuns seems less useful than a shorter cd on your Hp regen and reserve pc. You could possibly get 3 extra cells before resolve (2 is more likely), I have never had resource problems that would be taken care of by three extra cells after being stunned that much. You have to be beat on for Reflexive shield to work, while you only need crits for adrenaline fueled. I am currently sitting at 31% crit, with a 102% crit multiplier on HIB, AP, HS, and IR. That is also why I take Demolition over Intimidation. More crits = Faster cds on RPC and AR. @KBstealer I do not understand Gut over AP. I don't want more stuff that keeps me in melee combat, that is the bad place where we get touched way to hard to be comfy. We are a highly mobile ranged class, and I prefer to build toward that. Gut really doesn't seem to hit hard enough to be worth losing a 100% ranged dot snare. I can see Lasting longer in this spec, but the amount of damage output lost without gaining storm or the other abilities that fuel high gut numbers it feels like it is missing tempo and synergy. I will test your build though!
  7. Against Sents/marauders. Starting the fight at range. I begin a normal dps rotation. Incen Round HIB, assault plaistique. At this Point they normally are leaping on you. Follow their leap with stock strike, hib if its off cd, ion pulse and then neural surge. As your kiting away from them Load on the range crap again, AP, Hib, Ion pulse while kiting. As soon as they pop tenacity to get out of cc, Pop all of your defensive cool downs. You should be using recharge cells at this point. After tenacity the immediate response is to pop their offensive cds. Do not cryo nade during this time. Pop all of your offensive cds including relic. Apply AP. Stock Strike, wait a quarter second and HIB. You should both be at pretty low health. They most likely have used leap back to you and blown their main defensive cd( the one that lowers damage to nothing). Cryo Nade them. Run to 30ms and use hammer shot till they die. If you need more clarity let me know.
  8. I am unsure why you would run ion cell, lose out on 100% snare chance on ion pulse and a 100% chance to trigger plasma cell... Your build doesn't seem to have synergy could you explain it better to me please?

    PvP Leveling

    I'm not exactly positive but bolster seems to be relative to gear. Like the better gear you have for your level the better your bolster buff will be. Maybe it was just a psychological advantage to level in almost all purples/oranges but it really seems to help.

    I leveled almost solely threw pvp. I gained maybe 5 levels after ten from the main story line. It took me about 8 days played. It was well worth it to me, I will always level up alts threw wzs. Its good to be valor 50 when your 50.
  11. I would really like to start compiling a list of opinions on class match ups. I am not really all that good at this formatting or grammar thing so here is my best shot. Me: I play an assault specialist vanguard on the Jung Ma server. (A'giantonendor) I am Valor Rank 62. I most often solo que and avoid Ilum for the plague it is. I have tried the other vanguard specs. They are not really my thing. I always run plasma cell. Duh. 300-400k damage a WZ is normal. Survivability is low without a healer or a lot of gear in melee. You must *Joust* to make this build work. I spam Ion Pulse. A LOT. I spam High Impact bolt A LOT. I figured out A long time ago to TIME OUT ASSAULT PLASTIQUE. It is very Hard for us to single hit over 5k. Its really easy for us to combo for 10k. The Break down as I see it in 1v1 fights: We beat most other tanks. We beat most dps specialized bounty hunters. We beat most Sorcerers. We Beat most Marauders. We go 50/50 With Snipers. We go 50/50 With Operatives. We mostly lose to Heal specialized Mercenaries. We almost always lose to Properly Specialized Sith Assassins. These are the base observations I have made. I am unsure if anyone is interested in a Class by Class comparison or duel step by step break down but I will write it up if I see any interest. I would really like to get other peoples Observations in a similar spec.

IN game you will get pissed and focus us for no reason, it allows us to mess with you easily. Have a good day though youll get better ))

"who is tigerx? he aint no memon or tidus" I do not run frapps, nor do I need to prove to the internet your not as good as you think you are. I'll just continue to crush on you and yours. I have no fear of seeing you two in a WZ, its not like your Skold and Excrucio cruising right down the center with 7 rep battlemasters jumping on you. They should post a damn video, that is IMPRESSIVE. I am on your faction. See you in the 50 bracket's, at some point.
