  1. (A bit late)Kudos to you all and the Dev team to accept that your plan for Ilum failed and you went back to redesign it. Came back after a 2 month break to get ready for 1.2 and just wanted to drop my thoughts on how to make Ilum a better experience. The flaws of previous Ilums, imo, where the capture points (CP) in the area. Middle, north, center etc. Where the rockets are shot to capture them for your side. At first they were important to capture, since that's what gave you points for the quests. But no point in holding them since then you would get no new points. Presto! Basetrading. Stand next to your mortal enemy and shoot with a rocket on a big robot.... PvP at it's fines....no not really. New Ilum: You get points from killing people! And if you don't like killing people you can go in a circle for 2 hours and pick up things spawning randomly on the ground in one area. That should make people want to fight for Ilum right..? No, you joined a big zerg and stood pretty much at one spot and waited for some poor smuck to get too close to the pull-abilites of your ops-members. Or if you couldn't make it to Ilum JUST as the daily quests resets you were stuck with the odd kill and 2 hours of circling the middle with the other guys. Not helping each other but competing with your faction members for kills/armaments. A truly great pvp...etc. My take. Learn some from the ones who have managed to get PvP-"lakes" going. One example I have played is Warhammer Online. (Plenty of other flaws but the pvp lakes were big and mostly awesome) Don't make the CP's pointless. But don't make it so that it's just basetrading either. Must be a reason to defend them but also to attack them/stick around even if you are losing. If, like in WAR, you get a constant stream of points (renown from WAR) counting towards your quest/daily/weekly, depending on the amount of CP's your faction controls on Ilum. To get these points you have to stand in the CP's area of influence and not just afking at the spawn. Sure you can go to a CP and afk there, but you will most likely die from an attack of the opposing team. (Hopefully, or getting drag away by irritaded Inqs/counselors) Also from kills and if you must collecting armaments (but have em spread out all over the map so people have to search and might run into fighting). That should mean that people will want to co-operate to defend/attack the CP's and not just stand in a zerg at the opposing factions spawn. You can still do this if you like, and are more into getting points from kills than defending/attacking CP's. How would this help make it interesting if your faction is getting steamrolled then. Well either you wait and come back later and get the CP's and hang around for the time it takes for you to get the quest done. Or you team up in strikeforces and hit random CP's and hope the opponents can't be everywhere at once. Or stay inside your own base and chill out. (Right should have mentioned I was planning to have both bases non-capturable so that you can always get some points even if you can only play during peak hours and don't have the manpower to attack). Hopefully Ilum would have some more reason to hang around in. Even if it's just to afk in your base and get some slow points. Yes that's the kind of idling I didn't want rewarded earlier I know But I still want everyone to have a reason to go to Ilum and not just stand in a zerg waiting to die. Regards
