I spent a couple hours on Arsenal today to see what I could get, so far not bad results even for sustained dps....excellent on Draxus and Brontes so far though. This was a pretty average parse for me in Arsenal right before the PTS servers went offline, so pre-2.7 BiS: http://www.torparse.com/a/612619/20/0/Overview I'd say I topped out around the low to mid 3600s, I'll try to get lucky one and post one officially, see what the RNG Gods can bring, but I gotta say, the changes definitely brought about a smaller overall dps RNG.

Just to add to Khevar's comments, you did actually use vent heat and TSO but you didn't need to use them for a long time because of your APMs. So if you start queue'ing EVERY ability (except during unload ofc) as Khevar mentioned, you'll ramp up your heat faster and start needing those abilities sooner. Also, you're using IM too often, you're using it with every TD (every 15s) and the duration of the IM DoT is 18s, therefore you're missing out on 16% of the damage (3s/18s) that's a significant dps loss. Try to rotate your fillers between PPA procs instead of always using both TD and IM, you'll find examples in the guide.

No power gives 0.23 bonus damage while mainstat gives 0.2, but mainstat gets a boost with some specs through talents and also adds to crit giving it a slightly higher value than power in most if not all cases

Definitely won't be ignored, I second MVaglin, try to learn both as they both have their place in a raid group. Pyro will bring a higher sustained dps, Arsenal will bring a bit more survivability and front loaded burst and of course the armor debuff, sometimes you won't have a sniper or jugg for that and even if you do some fights favor multiple debuffs

Yeah I'm with ya on that they still need to do some balancing, I think BW has made some good strides, I've already seen a lot of snipers start to migrate to other classes now that they aren't crushing everyone in raid viability like they used to. Didn't mean to sound harsh if that's the way it came off! While I think some more balancing is due I also don't want to see the shield go away! I like settling under that thing myself Edit : I think someone mentioned a raid wide cd similar to BT, I could get down with that

You're over-thinking... Master the class you like and you won't be left out of a raid group

Personally I haven't had any problems with mobility in that phase with either spec... They go down faster for us when I'm in Arsenal... Both specs are definitely fine with this fight I just find target switching heavy fights super annoying in Pyro.

Have you been into DF NiM yet? Arsenal comes in REAL handy for Draxus and Brontes and I could go either way for Corruptor Zero and Grob'thok... I think DP NiM is still going to heavily favor Pyro though

yup I'm aware of that, but we won't know how much till it hits live, NiM S&V focused on mechanics, fotm dps classes were not necessary, we'll see what they do here, but my hunch is we'll see the same.

I think you're overreacting a bit bud...the top guilds will look at dps composition really only to the point that they try to have a thirst, definitely an armor debuff (which is widely abundant) , and avoid more than 2 melee...it's just about having solid players when going through progression, Haven't seen an operation since NiM TFB that really tested top notch dps, we'll see if NiM DF will bring any fights that do when it hits live, so far not seeing it from PTS. It's obvious though that BW likes snipers and want to see them in raid groups, the sniper shield does come in handy but you can get by without them if you're other rdps do their jobs right. We've ran 3 mercs and a mara on some nights these past couple weeks, just depends who's on. I think you see snipers in a lot of groups more-so because there's a lot of good players that like to play sniper and historically it's been OP, not as much now. Would like to see more sorc dps emerge though.
