Instant lv 60 interaction with the "old" companions

Yeah i made a smuggler in hope of beinga able to do the conversations and get the achievement for the smuggler story but i got nothing -
Cant you get the dialogues with the companions if you created a lv 60?

I read somewhere that you can chosse an already existing character to get lvl 60 instead of making a new one. Is this correct and then how do you do that?
