  1. Enjoyed listening to it! Getting the word out about The Bastion server and the folks on it--regardless of faction--is a great thing!

  5. I'm a regular listener, enjoyed the interview!
  6. <The Incredibles> Republic http://www.theincrediblesguild.com We're right in the middle between 2 8-man and 16-man, but put us down as the former.
  7. Well, we do stay away from trolling and "leetspeek". And we speak in complete sentences...at least until the third round of drinks on Ops nights kick in. But to take your question at face value--and because it's about time for a bump--no, we are most definitely not an RP guild. Currently we are running 8man Ops on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. Sunday and Tuesday are from 8-11 CDT, Monday is 7-10CDT. We are tackling S&V SM, having downed 5/7 on the first night we attempted the content. We have TfB SM on farm. So we don't devour content, but sample and savor its deliciousness. Folks, if you're interested in playing the game with people that are really more about having fun than having BiS gear, look us up!
  8. If you want something more than just a "kewl" tag under your name, then join The Incredibles! Since 2004, our gaming community has offered a (mostly) mature environment where the person behind the keyboard--not the character they play or the gear it has--is valued. We offer a guild bank, a long-running forum, Mumble server and an established leadership team that works hard to make sure that all members have a pleasant, stable environment in whatever game we’re playing. Though we run Ops, we are not a "raiding" guild. Though we PvP, we are not a PvP guild. We have both casual and hardcore players. As we are fond of saying, "SWTOR is a game. The Incredibles Guild is a community. If you don't understand that distinction, then you probably don't understand this guild." We're re-assembling our core 8-man Ops team to tackle the 2.0 content, and run on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 8-11pm CDT. If you are interested in running with us to see if we're the right fit for you, you can contact us in a variety of ways: respond to this post; contact ingame: Our Recruitment Officer is Idrin, our GM is Laohastwoguns, or me on Snarl; go to our forum and post an application in the Recruitment section.
  9. I'd settle for one VERY simple change: Let me tab from one input field to the next. I just want to change the level range of things I'm looking for--please let me tab from the first field to the next!
  10. I'd settle for one VERY simple change: Let me tab from one drop-down or input field to the next. I just want to change the level range of things I'm looking for--please let me tab from the first field to the next!
  11. Welcome to The Bastion, Ikod! Please give <The Incredibles> consideration for your new guild home. We do a bit of everything and are more interested in the person behind the keyboard than how geared your character(s) are or how often you play. You can find out more about us at our official forums http://www.theincrediblesguild.com or in this torwars article: http://torwars.com/2012/06/20/galaxy-of-guilds-the-incredibles/ Contact myself (Snarl) Toughnut or Laohastwoguns ingame to find out more!
  12. If you've not found a new guild home already, please give <The Incredibles> a look; we might be the right fit for you. You can contact myself (Snarl), Toughnut or Laohastwoguns ingame, and we'll look for you as well. Also, give our Galaxy of Guilds article a read at torwars.com: http://torwars.com/2012/06/20/galaxy-of-guilds-the-incredibles/
  13. I really liked the forcejunkies.com analysis article of the latest event: http://www.forcejunkies.com/2012/08/23/the-grand-acquisitions-race-a-review/
  14. You also apparently can't do a /who. We're part of a larger gaming community, and some people are trying this game out. Naturally we want them to see the glory that is gchat. Not being able to /who makes getting a guild invite harder. We do have a list of officers and alts, though, so it did happen. I'm just not sure how /who is game-breaking or economy-killing. I appreciate the original post, and will relay this information to my WoW guildies, just so they know what to expect.
  15. You're welcome to swing by our forums to look at our policies, and other information in the General section: http://forum.theincrediblesguild.com/showthread.php?18136-Guild-Policies-Officer-List-amp-Guild-Information (pardon our mess; we're in the middle of revising those to reflect the new reality of being a multi-title community.) You can also check out the torwars.com article that featured us on June 20th; I go over some of what you're asking: http://torwars.com/2012/06/20/galaxy-of-guilds-the-incredibles/
  16. None of these are really critical--I'm not going to ragequit if I don't get them tomorrow, or if I ever get them--but they would be little nice things that would make the game that much smoother. * Chat log with export option (even if it were an option the GM could enable in the ranks permissions tab, so say only officers could do it.) * Higher character limit for both member note and officer note fields in roster * Higher character limit for GMotD and Description fields in roster * GM can give banking permissions to another character, be it to an alt on his or her account, or to another person * More guild ranks (12-15 would be enough) * be able to do emotes while mounted (To be fair, I can't remember if I can do this in WoW, either). * be able to double-click on a guild member's name when in the roster (Detailed or Simple view) to whisper them. * see when people were last logged on in the Detailed view. (Admittedly, this may just me not knowing where it is or how to turn it on.) * mail to multiple people, aka a distribution list. Even if they were "canned", like to everyone within a certain rank (ie, Officers), to everyone above a certain rank or to EVERYONE in the guild. * fix this known bug: copying the contents of a mail ingame strips out all formatting, becomes one big text blob. *be able to consistently double-click a person's name in the chat window to whisper them; sometimes I have to scroll up and double-click the person's name. Size of the window doesn't seem to matter * Companions gear color-coordinated, like I can do for my gear. * LOAD SCREEN BOSS--too heavily instanced, going from some places, in some cases, same planet--takes 3-4 minutes. This is not a system issue completely. * have the option of turning off the splash screen when you come back from an alt-tab. * Wish camera didn't default back to really close to the back of my character's head. I meant to keep the camera scrolled out, dangit! Thank you for providing an area to post ideas like this.
  17. I wish I could give management of the bank to either another character on my account or to another officer entirely. Having it only be the GM is certainly a way to eliminate some issues from cropping up, but what if I would rather have some other character stay in Fleet--since for some odd reason, that's the only place one can access the guild banks? What if I'm not particularly savvy about selling on the GTN but I have an officer who is and would love to take on that responsibility?
  18. Why not do it the way other MMOs have done it and put a small %--IN ADDITION TO what the player loots--straight into the guild bank? The player is not penalized in any way.
  19. Throwing my support and good vibes toward the CS team and those involved with the madness that is Server Transfers. Kudos! There are many things that I think could and should be improved in the game but this was pretty smooth. Thanks to the OP for posting this.
  20. I'm on the bottom edge of the requirement (will be 45 in August) but if there are any of you like-minded folk on The Bastion--be you a new transplant or a native--consider The Incredibles as a community. We have a diverse player base across two titles (SWTOR and WoW) and were recently featured on torwars.com in Galaxy of Guilds! Read the article, as it sums up who we are. Give us a shot, and run with us! You can contact myself, Idrin or Laohastwoguns for more information. Semper Increds!
  21. Definitely glad it worked out! Sauska, were you transferring a character that would be reforming a guild? Would be very interested in hearing how that goes (for anyone), especially re: getting the bank back. Our server isn't on the list yet, so I'm scrambling for data. I've read the FAQ on how it should go; I'd like to hear impressions from someone who's experienced it.
  22. WoW had directed transfers (similar to what Bioware is doing) earlier than that; I started playing that game in 2005, and remember seeing announcements about free transfers then. They announced free transfers, sometimes for just one faction, FROM one server TO the other. Funny thing too--I didn't have to log into my account to find out what the destination was; they just listed it on the page. Who'd a thunk it? I would think that in 2012 that the technology to do what Blizzard did six years ago would be more readily accessible. But as has been pointed out, it's irrelevant what we think should be; it only matters what is. I agree that folks are needlessly working themselves up.I'm actually kind of glad my server isn't on the list right away; gives us more time to prepare, see how the process goes. For now, we've got a solid group of people in the guild, we're having fun running Ops, levelling alts toward Legacy, killing world bosses--that kind of thing. It will come when it does. And we will be ready to go TOGETHER. Semper Increds!
  23. Since there are built-in practices to keep one from spamming ingame mail messages (you have to wait around 30-60 seconds before you can send another mail), why not give the GM the ability to set up a distribution list, or different ways to do a blanket mail to members of a particular rank? This would: 1) Give another way besides the GMotD to get information out (and besides, you have a character limit for the GMotD) to everyone. This would be especially helpful in the wake of server transfers. Most people just click OK when the GMotD box comes up. 2) Be able to send out information for a particular rank, say like to officers reminding them of an ingame event. Sure there are other ways to get out information, such as guild forums, whispering or talking to folks on VOIP programs like Ventrilo or Mumble, but additional ways to convey information to large groups of people can't be a bad thing. I also wish that when you copied one ingame message text and then pasted it into another mail message, that it kept the line breaks at least. It will if you copy and paste from a source outside of the game. Too bad we don't have the ability to toggle more formatting options. Most times just plain text works, but sometimes you want a bolded word for emphasis.
  24. Great work! Thank you for taking the time to compile and manage this thread.
  25. On our forums in the general area--the first public section--we have a list of policies and procedures that is stickied. We also have some posts in the Recruitment section that help to give a feel for what The Incredibles are all about. Having the equivalent of a mission statement, and a list of what's acceptable (and what's not) will indeed go a long way toward folks weeding themselves out, or wanting to be a part of your community. If that's not been done, I would urge all guild leaders (and their leadership) to take the time to create those guidelines. You'll save yourself a lot of headache in the long run.
