  1. i never played an mmo before. i really would rather have someone show me the ropes before getting into the specifics of mmo's. i still don't know what a tank, dps, sentinel is. healer i get. i don't know their range of damage, which is the best to start with. i see a guy, i go after the guy. i win or loose. that's all i know so far. still don't know what my characters are good for except cedrax.
  2. i don't think the add-on discussion is going to go anywhere. bioware would lose money because of the driven costs to add them. then some data restructuring would have to be done accross all the servers. it may not seem like much, but it would cost money to do it. to off-set the cost, they increase the cost of your renewal subscription. then we'll all be sitting here talking about why the game suddenly costs more money. in cost-benifit analysis, bioware just won't do it. it may be a nice thought, but it's a thought to have brought up during game development. now, it's too late, and we're stuck with what we have. there was three years where it went to game conventions. if enough people had spoken up, it would have happened. i never saw it mentioned in developer blogs. if they add an episode two, then i could see the add-ons going in with it.
  3. there's an imperial who can force heal 100% any of their team members. they use rings to do it with. republic gang up and beat just that one class to take out the rest of the sith in a warzone. then it's easy. just remember to pick on them.
  4. add-ons are really a joke. threat meter- rediculouse. pve, you have to face them in the end content. that's a no brainer. pvp, one don't get you, there are two that will. in pvp, it's been such a madhouse on players beating other players, i can't keep up with who is who hitting me. it just makes no sense to me. so this condescending attitiude some people have that if you don't want add-ons, there's something wrong with you, is just plain stupid. you're going to get it, and you're going to get it big from someone somewhere in pvp. just give up on this idea. pve, there's no control over. the score board they have at the end of pvp i find just fine the way it is. i can go for some customization add-ons. i see no harm in that, either. and i can't wait for the loud whiners who take this game more seriously than reality to quit their subscriptions, either. i've had it with them. they suck the fun out.
  5. any idea when there might be an episode two. right now, we have an interlude. meaning there could be an episode two. i would like to see an episode two come out, along with a legacy power skill tree for the characters. then maybe we could take on the major players of the empire. that would be great.
  6. no one forces you to play this game. accept it the way it is. this isn't WoW, and will never be. it's swtor. completely different mmo. stop comparing it, or stick to WoW. WoW has no relevance to this game. i'm not against these so-called add-ons, i'm just saying constant comparison to WoW makes it sounds like you should stick to playing WoW if it's that much better. you can't make this game WOW just because you prefer it over swtor.
  7. you're right. i personally don't care about the add-ons. i'm just tired of people dumping it on others with it must or it sucks mentality. i could care less either way. i don't think comparing swtor to other video games, then dumping on it, is right. it sounds like whining and i can't stand whining, crying, or moping on the game. it's like some are on it just to have something to complain about. they're never happy. i can't stand that kind of game playing mentality. that's all.
  8. if some are going to just complain, they shouldn't play. it's not bioware's job to curtail the game for a limmited few to their liking. people can make a suggestion in a suggestion box, but coming on the forum for the sole purpose of complaining is not right. no logic to it whatsoever. so stop if it's that bad a time for some people.
  9. i really still don't get this obsession with add-ons. it sounds like a WoW invention, and something the WoW players want. this isn't WoW. this is swtor. bioware promised that swtor would be different from all the other mmo's, and so far, they delivered on their promises. if all the WoW people want to keep up the comparison crap, maybe they should go back to it, and let the rest of us have a good time. so far, the non-avatar people are in the lead in negative campaigning against this game. shame on them for playing it, and then gripe, gripe, griping on it. shut it. really. shut it. it's not there, it would be a copy-right problem to add something from another mmo. let it go. talk about it, but quit insisting it must be there. it just plain won't.
  10. i've noticed that a select few, and they have no avatars, are incessantly complaining about the game. it never lets up. i've had enough of it. i mean really, if the game is that bad for you, please quit and play WoW like you guys had said you'd do. one balmed the game for his pc crashing. not likely. one complained about server lapse. solar storm. scientists said that would happen. one whines like a baby because he can't get something done. says bioware made the game too hard. yes, it is the hardest game out there, but that doesn't mean you can't bring a friend to finish the boss/ elite/ whoever off. anyone else just sick of this rampant complaining? and they wonder why bioware quit listening to them. they suck the fun out of the game.
  11. i'm sorry. that was directed towards someone with no avatar that is always complaining about the game. no highlights. just complaints. can't tell which non-avatar it is, but it's one of the non-avatars. there's a couple of them. these few have no avatar. probably to disguise and confuse the complaining. i'm sure some non-avatars are happy. but a select few aren't, and it's incessant non stop bickering about the game, and i got fed up with it.
  12. i'm brand new to mmo's. never paid attention to them until swtor came out. so i don't get the lingo whatsoever. i do know the only thing i added on was the force power windows. one row on the left, two at the bottom, one at the right. that's all i know about add-ons. so far, it's been great. except for outleveled pvp scenario's. then they camp out next to you. do it again. that's my only complaint. some part are hard, okay, get some help. and if it's not fun, please stop playing, or blaming bioware. it ruins it for everyone. you need help, find someone to help you finish the end content. or google it. see what predecessors did. get ideas. this game is brand new to all, so it's time to stop blaming things for shortcomings. have fun, or quit. tired of seeing complaints. the forums are a place to ask how others did stuff so you get an idea when stuck.
  13. if you help people that are under your level, try not to pick stuff up. this is my first mmo, know nothing about how it works, but i learned the hard way. it doesn't matter how close your lvls are to each other, still don't take it. and if you do, even by mistake, give them some creds so they can aquire the stuff that became bound to you. there's always more stuff than you know what to do with, and you'll feel better, maybe make a friend, and they'll want to team with you again. not only that, it's developing a reputation in fairness for yourself. others will want to join you because you become known as fair. i patched things up, and hopefully, they will team with me again. if not, they know i make right what i do wrong.
  14. i was wondering if anyone wants more pve content for the single player after lvl 50, and if there could be legacy powers granted in a legacy skill tree. i'm finding it difficult to get a group going in flashpoint and pvp. i myself am not really a pvp person, so the game seems to quit for me after corellia. ilum seems to be the flashpoint/pvp center after that. i would rather see the story continue rather than have an interlude, or epilogue at the end. then at 50, you get the legacy tree for your character.
  15. wish there was a sign-up form to do flashpoints. i mean, to be brutally honest, i feel like i'm nagging people to do them. if there was just a character that took down the names of four people, mailed you when to be there, it would be so much simpler. otherwise, i just feel like a nucance and a nag asking everyone at the station if they are interested when i'm probably being a bother. that's what it feels like to me. i've only done one flashpoint so far, and i'd like to do more if there was a roster to put my name on. i don't want to bother anyone who may already be on their way to do what they need to.
  16. for the u.s., i noticed looking at the server status page that you either play on eastern, or pacific time. on pacific time, i noticed that pve servers are substantially higher on the pacific time than on the eastern time. also, can palyers rotate their characters among the servers, depending on traffic volume? if not, why? i think that option makes sense. then you can get more player volume in. i also noticed that there is no mountain time. why is that? should we be palying on servers based on location based on the mississippi river? if so, that would explain the high traffic volume on the west coast vs the east coast. there's a big difference betweeen the east and west coasts in relation to the mississippi by several hundred miles. i think if there were mountain time servers, the traffic would be more even flowed broad based in the continental us. if i'm east of the mississippi, should my server be eastern, and if i'm west, it should be western? what is the best server to go on in relation to where you live?
  17. those that beta tested: if you got off world, up to your own ship, when you look at the galaxy map, what is the best level to be at to make it to the next level? say you're a level 15, and the next available planet says level nineteen, do you want to be at a nineteen when you start that planet, or better? or is nineteen the end result for completion? i'm afraid i'll get trapped somewhere i don't want to be at, and no where to go. when i meet the final challenge, i don't want chronic defeat because that just plain stinks. anyone got pointers?
