  1. Awesome soloing is killing 100+ mobs at a time with your Titan in Forge of gods while your boxed buffers collect the loot (oh sweet sweet L2 times)
  2. Thanks. One last question: In what way are hard modes different? Is it just the damage/HP of mobs or are there also different mechanics and mob skills involved?
  3. Maybe, but I imagine it would require silly amounts of micro to swap agro and frankly putting so much more effort into something as grinding mobs for that bit more of killling speed isn't worth it, at least not for me. I find that with Quinn, I can has easymode and not worry. Does that make me a bad player?
  4. I don't know if that was directed at me but if it was than I just dunno, I guess now posting questions and opinions = QQing. Also, how about that video of you showing us baddies your leet PvE skills? I am intrigued.
  5. I give you that. However, what about someone who doesn't use annihilation and thus would have no healing whatsoever? How does that factor into your consideration? Some people simply might not like the anni game style. Advising such people to not use a healer companion is simply wrong. And I do not know how about you but I take uninterrupted combat instead of having to channel after every fight, even if it is for a few seconds. And there is also the RNG factor where you might screw up or lag out and die, while with a healer you are chillin' without a problem. And I've yet to see a video that shows me the scenario you presented, chain pulling double elites of your level with only 3 sec of hatred channeling (which is like 1/5th of the HP bar). Sorry, I do not mean to sound rude but I keep my opinion until someone proves me wrong.
  6. Not all, just the UT ones, and bioanalysis but I use those for myself now. All the other I just dump to the NPC. Maybe people on your server did not realize how good they are, yet. I mean, there must be a reason why people on my server buy underworld trading missions for that much.
  7. Maybe Hizoka, in all his skill and glory, will make a video showing us how a marauder without a healer compation can chain pull mobs of all difficulties. I have no problems admitting I was wrong if he proves me so, until then I will still call BS. It's easy to say "l2p, newb" but backing up your **** with proof and elaborate arguments is an entirely different story.
  8. Well I am not in greens I try to have the best gear on me that I can find on the GTN. I was just curious of the optimal progression i.e. "try to do this first for a few times, then try to move there" etc.
  9. Yeah yeah, I've seen a lot of these comments about "playing smart and using abilities", yet I have yet to see proof that you can level as a marauder with a DPS companion without downtime. I mean, a several minute video can't be hard to make.
  10. I call BS on this one. Are you actually saying that you can PvE well, without using Quinn, WITHOUT having to constantly channel? Come on... Video or it didn't happen.
  11. Hey guys, I am about to hit 50 but I haven't done any FP since Cademimu so I am kinda curious...at 50, can I go straight for HM FPs or should I just farm normal ones for some gear? How hard are hard modes actually?
  12. That's the whole point of a gathering skill. You go out and gather stuff. Slicing was way overkill in the low levels and they toned it down. I see no reason to get angry about this. Also, you say that other profession sell mats for way more. This might be true but you have to understand that in order for them to make profit, they have to actually sell the stuff which might not always be the case. Slicing gives you instant cash, no need to sell anything so for this convenience you get lesser returns. Take this from someone who has 400 slicing and is going to keep it. It's still good money, especially when you know where to farm. Also the missions sell for decent money. On my server, I am able to sell the purple lvl 340 UT missions for 25k a pop, so go figure.
  13. It wouldn't be better, I tried and instantly dismissed the idea. Quinn is just a fricken monster, especially in later levels and good gear. People keep telling me that they have used the DPS compations without issues and that they did not need the healing. I simply refuse to believe that. They are either not telling the truth or had to channel after ever fight or two. I do not know about others but channeling is pissing me off as I have to stand there and do nothing. With Quinn you basically got zero downtime, especially now that I can also heal myself.
  14. I wouldn't exactly say it's more damage but rather that it's quicked damage with carnage. The thing is it seems so high because of the initial spike cause by chaining gore>ravage>force scream. After that it slows down some. However, annihilation can kill just as fast imo, especially when strongs and elites are in play and there is time for the dots to actually kick in. A strong mobs goes like BA>rupture>annihilate>VS and the mob is pretty much dead. Not that much difference to be honest. For PvP it's something different tho. You do not have that spiky damage when you need it.
  15. I have to agree here. I tried to equip Vette with the best stuff I could find. She does do nice damage but I guess Quinn is simply too good to no use him instead. Vette's damage simply doesn't make up for the healing. For normal mobs it doesn't really matter if you do not have a DPS companion since they die fast anyway. For the stronger mobs, I find that I rather kill a bit slower with zero downtime than kill faster but use hatred after the mob to top me off. Yesterday I was farming elites for a bit. They were of equal level and with the anni spec now and Quinn, I was able to chain pull mob after mob after mob while I pretty much never dropped below 80%. The heal from the dot ticks is some serious business considering how fast you build fury.
  16. Specced annihilation, tested it and I like it. However, it's much more difficult than it looks considering I was used to completely different gameplay from carnage. One think that bugs me a bit is fighting groups of normal mobs. Elites are easy as the dots have time to tick away but normals die so fast that he heals don't really have time to kick in. I switched to quinn for now until I get used to the play style.
  17. You got me convinced Just one more question. How does a typical rotation look? I figured it's build around rupture and deadly saber but an example rotation would help. Also, is there a way how to apply bleeds on an AoE basis? Say, you buff deadly saber, use smash on a pack of 3 mobs and it get's applied to all of them? If so that would be sweet.
  18. So you say that you can chain pull elite mobs without quinn in annihilation?
  19. If you had to estimate the difference in killing speed between annihilation and carnage over extended periods and mobs being mixed (i.e. normal, strong, elite), what would it be in terms of %? Same gear, quinn as healer. I understand that there are variables but just a guess is good enough.
  20. Sup, I am close to 50 and leveled all the way with carnage and it's true that later on it really starts to shine, the burst is nice. However, I've seen an annihilation marauder the other day and he was barely losing any health as far as I could see and was killing the same mobs as me. Is the annihilation tree really that better when it comes to survivability? I'd appreciate advise from people who have tried both. Let's say I would want to grind elites, would annihilation be better than carnage? I ask because the thing with carnage is you have high initial burst with gore + ravage + scream but after you unload the skill, DPS drops as you wait for CD. If anni was better for elite grinding, PvE in general I might be willing to try but I am looking for some good arguments and don't really want to blindly respec just to find out it's about the same. Thanks and much appreciated.
  21. Thanks guys but I pretty much do all of the above. And yes, cloak of pain is great. I equiped Quinn and it is much better now. However, I hate the fact that I am basically forced to use a specific companion to not have to channel every 3 packs of mobs which adds up to a ton of downtime. I tried with Vette or Jaesa, it's just not really good. You gotta micro the companion + unload your skills. Anyway, I've looked once more at the skills and it seems as if the marauder is really built to shine in end game once you get cheaper VS/Masacre and the guaranteed ataru proc for the FS crit. That's sad because I'd like to enjoy the class a bit more now. And I still think that the GCD is too frickin long for a class like this. I have to unload a lot of **** really fast and it makes me rage how slow it is. PS: People who claim you do not need a healing companion are right but by not taking him you really cripple yourself. Killing fast is not good when you have to channel so often.
  22. Hi guys, I love the marauder class, I really do. However, I feel a bit squishy. Incidentally, I have really no problems with single strong enemies. The problem comes with a group of regular mobs. I feel like I do not kill them fast enough even though they do not have that much HP to begin with. Here's a little about how I play: I am specced carnage. The usual opening goes charge>smash>battering> and then spam rage spenders like force scream, ravage, vicious. THe thing is I can's seem to unload my skills fast enough (which is why I think the GCD should be 1s and not 1.5s). One could say they do die relatively quickly but so drops my HP. I do use my mitigation CDs whenever they are up, including predation (??) which also helps a bit. However, these are not up all the time and when they are not, man do I feel like i wear paper. How do you guys handle these situations? What's the rotations you use? Maybe I miss something. I am no newbie to playing melee classes and I've played an assassin in Aion so I am used to using many skills in succession so the problem is not there. Any advise appreciated, tnanks. PS: Please don't just go "l2p" at me. That's what I am trying to do here.
