  1. Sorry, but you can because i have to alts currently valor ranked higher than thier lvl. Carefull throwing the "you lie" around, it might make you look stupid.

All my characters were locked in valor rank till I got the same level.

Example: On an alt, I got locked at rank 19.99, till I got level 20 and only then was I able to get rank 20. On main -back when- I got locked at rank 49.99, till I got level 50, and only then was I allowed to get rank 50. This is how it was when I used to play at least.

I had also wondered about this when it happened and several people confirmed that you cannot outranked your level.

  2. Take it easy BM gear is not that much better then champ and if you where fully geared you would have nothing to do.

Champ bags are now a million times better.

    0/8

This is kind of frustrating. Easy fix: Just multiply all battlemaster gear token costs on the NPCs by 4 and adjust the battlemaster token drop rate to 100% please - heck, even multiply the costs by 8, so that we get the equipment in the expected / average case less "quickly", but there is some steady progress.

    0/8 = 0% lol

That's a positive outcome. And you should consider yourself lucky that opening a bag has not caused you to lose one of your current items.

    /sarcasm

  3. You can prove they're not working on a fix for it then? Go ahead, show the conversation where devs said 'let's just not fix this exploit'. You do realize that pretty much every exploit so far that has been fixed, THEY DID NOT TALK ABOUT IT UNTIL THEY HAD THE FIX READY.

Also, can you prove nobody has been punished? If this is something that can happen accidently, perhaps they have to gather proof that it's being intentionally done- which might be both difficult and time consuming. Unless you have some proof that they aren't banning intentional exploiters, the flaw in your reasoning is that you've said nothing that has anything more than extremely narrow sighted raging to back it up.

It is not whether BW devs are working on it or not. It is the fact that they do not respect their customers enough to communicate to them anything, especially regarding game-breaking bugs like these. A complete disregard to the player-base and a failed Customer Support is what I call it.

  4. I like how he calls rank 40 and 50 valor work. That amuses me. COnsidering i was 50 valor before i even hit level 50. IF thats his idea of "work" in a video game he is mistaken.

Lies. You cannot hit a valor rank higher than your level.

To OP: Nvm the fanbois. They don't like to read or think.

I agree with most of your post, especially the lack of communication from BW. I give this 6 months before server mergers, 1 year for f2p, if they don't drastically change their policies.

  5. Then you haven't been paying attention. It's because Operatives/Scoundrels have abilities that provide too much synergy with Sleep Dart that Assassins/Shadows don't have.

.. Because you would be able to chain it with an instant Flash Bang while also retaining all your spike damage, while I can't do both.

What the heck are you talking about? What synergy? There is no synergy!!

Sleep Dart fills the resolve bar and breaks on damage. Flash Bang breaks on damage.

You can use Sleep Dart on someone trying to open a door in Void Star or cap a point in Civil War, to buy a few second till your team mates arrive. You cannot use it to set up a burst combo because the target would be immune to any CC; i.e. they will take your first shot and destroy you or run away. Sleep Dart is -by far- the worst thing to use from Stealth if you have any intention of actually attacking and killing your target.

You can use Flash Bang to run away (if possible), to buy some time for your Ball Carrier or vs enemy BC, or perhaps to get a precious few second to get a heal off (provided the target's CC-breaker is on CD and there are no other opponents nearby). Again, this is kept as an emergency tool, not to set up burst.

  6. I was level 50 for weeks before I realized that passing the huttball was like an AOE ability. I was trying to select team mates and press the throw button for the longest time and didn't understand why passining never worked. It wasn't until I passed the ball to the floor and it rest that someone said in Ops: "You do realize that passing the ball is an AOE" Suddenly everything clicked and I had a huge noob moment and said "OOHHHH ROFL" I felt pretty stupid to say the least.

HAHA that was funnnneh ! I loled hard.

  7. You first said:

That's not the topic. The topic is why Assassin and Operative space saps aren't perfectly identical. Since you can't just look at those single skills in a vacuum, you have to look at the whole toolset of both classes. That includes the fact that Operatives have much better healing, which certainly can come into play when the opponent is CCed and can't interrupt the healing.

So you wanted to compared the whole toolset, and not just Sleep Dart. Those were your own words. Fine. I indulged you and I asked you a question based on your own words.

Two 8s mezzes? Care to list them? You surely are not counting Sleep Dart? It is useless for combat LOL. I'm starting to think you do not have an Operative or none that you PVP with.

Please list me the CC that your Shadow has and I will list you what CC an Operative has.

Then suddenly you have cold feet, and you are avoiding what you initially wanted to discuss:

Dude, Sleep Dart IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE THREAD! Do you even know what you're arguing about?

Well, make up your mind, bud. Stop slapping yourself and stop contradicting yourself.

  8. Unless, of course, you'd actually like to make big money off discoveries and schematics, and not off the chump change that is pure cash returns.

(I'd argue the data should split up discoveries and schematics. From what I've seen the big money is in the discoveries, not the schematics)

Yeah, as I've explained before, the Top 5 are only in terms of credit/minute or credit/hour (pure cash profit), but I've also included the % chance of getting Bonus items from each mission.

Bonus items like Discoveries are hard to account for in terms of profitability, since prices are not the same across different times and servers. So I leave that to people's discretion.

PS: By the time I wanted to split Discoveries from Schematics in my list, it was rather too late :). But from my experience, about 70%-80% of the Bonus items are Mission Discoveries.

EDIT: Just a heads-up. This is probably the last version I will make. My sub will be ending in a few days and I will not be renewing due to the current state of the game. I will be checking back in a few months though.

It's sad considering how long I waited for the game; and you have no idea what I went through to actually get the game in the first place, since my region is not covered :p

Good luck to you all and have fun :)

  9. Sleep dart useless? Come now man, thats in the rotation for most operatives. Debating your point is cool, but keep it real with yaself.

I hope Sleep Dark isn't an 8 second stun it does feel like forever tho. Thats an instant cast right? Does it need to be spec'd into for instant?

Sith Assassins can use Force Tornado or whatever its called but you have to spec like 3rd teir of Maddness to get to it maybe. Not sure

You do not even know what Sleep Dart is, and yet you are arguing about it?

    Sleep Dart

    Instant

    Energy: 20

    Range: 10 m

Puts the target to sleep for 60 seconds. Damage will break the effect prematurely. Only usable from stealth and only usable on targets not in combat. Only one target can be incapacitated at a time. Does not affect droids.

    Note the highlighted parts.

Yeah it is useless in Combat, and you do not want to use it on a target that you intend to fight. Why? Because it fills the resolve bar entirely. Which is the whole point of this thread vs Shadow/Sins's "Sap".

  10. Operative:

Evasion - 100% dodge, 3 seconds, 1m cooldown, removes all hostile effects with Avoidance Training

Shield Probe - bubble, 15 seconds, 45s cooldown

Healing - usable anytime, all the time, on all damage

    Shadow:

    Deflection - 50% dodge, 12 seconds, 2m cooldown

Resilience - 100% resistance vs force and tech attacks, 3 seconds (5 if tank specced), 45 second cooldown, also removes all hostile effects

You sure you want to give up that anytime healing?

    Evasion works mostly against auto-attacks.

Shield Probe absorbs a 1k-1.5k damage, which is about 1 normal attack.

Healing needs around 2s to cast (if speeced) or 2.5s (if not specced), and heals for 1.5k non-crit or 2.5k crit (due to Trauma debuff). In those 2s - 2.5s you will receive more damage than what you can heal.

Heal is nice to have around but is it reliable? It is only viable if you run away from the target (then you can use your "recharge" skill instead for a faster job), or if you get the target CC'ed by Flash Bang and you do not have any dots on him and no one on your team breaks the mez, and if the opponent has his CC-breaker on CD.

Healing is pretty situational at best, does not heal for that much as a DPS spec, and unreliable to save your arse.

Operatives have two 8 second mezzes, one of which doesn't even need to be used from stealth. That's the most likely the reason they put one of them at 1000 resolve, or else it would be way too easy to chain together 15+ seconds of mez.

Two 8s mezzes? Care to list them? You surely are not counting Sleep Dart? It is useless for combat LOL. I'm starting to think you do not have an Operative or none that you PVP with.

Please list me the CC that your Shadow has and I will list you what CC an Operative has.

  11. Yeah it's funny looking back and seeing why the Operatives/Scoundrels got nerfed. Because of the many examples like this, where some fresh 50s with 12k HP got owned by a better geared Scoundrel (with alleged 100% crit rate) and ran here crying.
  12. While you're at it, can we have guaranteed 100% chance to get Rakata gear for the person that exactly wants/needs after dropping boss? After all that player did drop the boss(opened the bag) so they deserve it, right? Nope.

    Deal with it.

You cannot compare the two. They are not similar. At least in PVE, a boss always drops something for someone.

Also, why do you want to make it a competition between PVE and PVP anyway?

If you have a legitimate gripe with PVE loot, open your own thread and I am sure people will support you.

Healing is hard to pull off as an Operative in combat, in most cases anyway, especially if you got a dot on the opponent. I'd rather have some solid defensive CD over a heal any day.

  14. consider yourself lucky. I grinded to BM when we had to do it only through warzones when Ilum was garbage. I'm guessing at least 5-6 days played to get there. How do you think i feel?

I got BM the old fashioned way too. 3/34 on BM bags; I gave up and I am not bothering to play the game anymore.

PS: here is my post about this same issue:

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=281555

  15. They are two different classes that perform a similar role, using different means.

Operatives have a higher pre-loaded burst damage, but they are worse in everything else.

Sin/Shadows have burst damage that needs a bit of non positional setup, but can crit for much higher than Operatives. They got better mobility, similar or better CC, better survivability, a much better resource system, less burst in Stealth but more burst out of Stealth and higher sustained damage.

In my opinion, Sin/Shadows do the job better (just not from Stealth).

  16. Please remove damage and healing too.

I don't like other people doing those things in wz. They are annoying.

Very constructive. Now back under your bridge.

As long as I'm on the topic of wishful thinking, here's my suggestion for the Resolve Bar.

    • Rework and rename it to the Hulk Bar
    • When the bar reaches 100% you turn into a big green unstoppable version of yourself and go on a warpath instant killing your opponents for 3-6 seconds. (3 seconds for ranged 6 for melee)

Once again wishful thinking and somewhat joking, but would 100% make pvp a lot more fun.

    hahaha
