  1. The distinction is in the staggered release schedule. But seriously who the eff cares what they call it? Why is this always a thing? It's just words, and they provide enough context for this that there really should be no confusion. Get over this crap already, jeez.
  2. You CAN log in now, as of the time of this post http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6799167#post6799167
  3.    that'll do.
  4. jeez, does this forum not have a built in heart thing I can spam here?
  5. Nobody said "loads more" and nobody referred to "profit." What that person said is it's earning more revenue than it was before going F2P, and that is the case as of the Q1 EA financial report at least.. I don't recall them providing an update after Q2, which most likely means there hasn't been a significant change either way, ie it's still performing well.
  6. Daily missions, like on the Czerka moon or Section X and so on, will earn you some comms for better gear, albeit at a rather slow rate if you're not into doing them every day.. And if you haven't finished the Makeb story (going by your "I'll spend more time on Makeb" comment here) then you should do so, because the story quests there grant you basic comms, as well as many credits you could use on GTN gear. Speaking of which, blue 66 belts and bracers can usually be had for under 20k on the GTN on my server (Jedi Covenant), and blue or green earpieces and implants with a level 53 requirement are major improvements over the ones that require 50 and below and won't break your bank either usually.. And, hell, I picked up a 158 barrel for like 17k today.. I'd suggest first seeing what sort of GTN deals you can find, and then cash out all your planetary comms on Makeb modifications (those are 140s) if you haven't already because there's seriously nothing else to spend them on.
  7. If you did miss this did, Amazon.com has been holding the 60-day cards at $23. Not nearly as awesome a deal, but it's better than the normal price, at least.
  8. I get that you want the mount with legs, but after 54 packs you're probably swimming in awesome gear, because this is the best pack to date. I opened my one for the month, got the cybernetic hand, and considered it a win. I HAVE A ROBOT HAND.
  9. First of all, SWTOR was never not "successful." It sold millions of $60+ copies in the first few months, you should remember. Just because maybe it didn't immediately recoup its budget doesn't it was a bomb. A disappointment, sure, but MMOs are, unlike most other games, a long-term investment. Second, the game earned 10 percent more revenue from the second quarter of this year than it did in the same period last year. EA referred to the F2P performance as having "sustained growth." Third, let's not pretend they're still blowing wads of cash keeping this game going. The staff has been reduced significantly, super servers have cut costs, and even well known voice actors don't cost that much for an afternoon session. I had lunch recently with one of the more recognizable actors in SWTOR (I work in the industry) and that person was working on seven different jobs that week. He/she was not doing that for funsies. There are two problems here: the major publishers expect insane profit margins at all times, and most Internet randos are incapable of not taking the most extreme stance in any given situation. Thus we get people talking about how the game is dying when it clearly isn't, and thus we get people who think everything is amazing. Remember: there was never a point at which SWG was as popular as SWTOR was at its worst, and yet SWG was only shut down because LucasArts wanted those players to come here. It lasted eight years. And you think SWTOR is in imminent danger of dying while it's pulling in probably well more than $100 million a year? Ridiculous.
  10. I'm sure somebody who still thinks the branding is ATI would know all about this.
  11. It's become pretty clear this game is a crapshoot, apparently. I ve been playing SWTOR since launch on a system I built two years ago for ~$700 containing a Radeon 6950, i5 2500k, a damn Biostar motherboard and 8gb of 1600 RAM, and I have always played with max settings and have never had any technical issues aside from slow loads when I have too many browser tabs open or something. AND I've moved four times covering many thousands of miles and had a truly terrible ISP for a few months; it was still fine. And yet people come in here with Haswell chips and video cards two generations newer than mine and the game runs like crap. Not sure if anything we have to say will be of any help.
  12. Amazing that this whole discussion is exactly the same as it was last time this happened. Y'all need fresh material.
  13. yeah, these 20-40mb updates are ridiculously huge
  14. However aesthetically pleasing you may find the masks in this game, I'm not sure I've seen even one that has any practical use. I doubt a real person would be able to see **** out of them. "I can't see a thing in this helmet." ―Luke Skywalker
  15. If I worked at BioWare I would definitely not read the suggestions from people on this forum.
  16. I applaud Bioware for the surprise server maintenance. I thought it was pretty ingenious of them.
  17. I just read this post, and yeah, I think the words you wrote are arranged in such a way as they make sense together.
  18. I'm glad we could all come together like this. #sohungovernow
  19. I pretty much enjoyed Makeb. Yep. It was and is a good time.
  20. SWTOR is pretty great, right? I like this game a lot.
  21. Kinda feels like there are some MRAs in this thread. *shudder*
