  1. I do agree with your concept of role, but I don't think JK's do theirs as well as BH's. I'm also unsure as to whether I can stand behind your statement that Sents put up higher ST dps than a BH. It may be true in standard fights that aren't very mobile, but in a mobile fight, the BH doesn't have to move as often. Please note that I'm counting damage auras and extreme AoE's as constituting a mobile fight, because the JK will have to move much more than the BH. One of my major complaints was that JK's don't get much to compensate for that additional downtime while moving. I'm also not sure if enough AoE doesn't make ST damage moot in most situations, aside from high health boss fights.
  2. 1) I'll concede the point. Please note that the only thing that I am conceding is that you did not contradict the very guide you linked. :hands you Visine: 2) I wasn't suggesting that you had stated that JK CC was fine, I was just pointing out that BH was better in every way. Except, I didn't sign up to play SW:TOR for the Bounty Hunter class. 3) Again, it's a comparatively busy playstyle just to handle trash, while a different class that engaged at the same time would already be setting up for the next group.
  3. So you link a guide and then disagree with one of the Cons stated in the guide: "Damage relies on constant monitoring of skill CDs, Rage, incoming Rage and Fury" I.e. that the playstyle is pretty complicated. Whether or not it's overly complicated, of course is a matter of opinion. Note, however, that there are other classes to play, and the playstyle of these classes can inform our opinion about what a complex playstyle is, and how it functions. BTW, I solo two man heroics on my Marauder too, my BH just solos them easier. I also like the BH's resource system better, as it is not something cut and pasted from that "other" MMO. Finally, I know why the BH solos easier; it's because of crowd control. BTW, I'm not trying to nitpick your post, I am completely comfortable that other people play the class better. I am not sure, though, if I am comfortable with having to have some sort of exceptional talent in order to even compete with other classes that can be very effective in the hands of average players. Honestly, my BH feels heroic, my Jedi doesn't.
  4. I suppose that's fair. It would be nice to get some assurance that they are at least looking into it, even if it's non-commital legalese.
  5. Oh, see I didn't know that. So now I'm very curious as to why they haven't said anything, or if they have, why it doesn't seem to be common knowledge.
  6. I'm going to voice my concerns whether or not they are prepared to fix them immediately. It would be nice to get someone official-ish say that they're going to look into it whenever they get around to it. At least that way we know they're reading our stuff. If they want to reserve judgement until they have given the alleged problems some more intense scrutiny, then say that. As far as I know, they haven't, which is why I've actually posted in this thread, hoping for some kind of response. Probably not the most realistic hope, I know.
  7. I also don't feel like a guy that can deflect blasters at the guy that's trying to make me dead. Figured I'd throw that in there, too.
  8. ^ This. ^ It really does seem like the Bioware devs have neglected to consider the unique challenges of melee dps compared to ranged dps. Some of these challenges include, but are not limited to: 1. Useless downtime while getting to a target, or moving from one target to another. 2. Vulnerability to crowd control. Ranged characters can still do something while snared or rooted. Melee can not. 3. Vulnerability to character-based AoE. Any opponent (pve or pvp) that does damage in an aura around itself hits melee. Players have to either move or eat the damage. A further issue occurs when the boss uses targeted aoe on a melee tank. Melee dps in this case have to contend with the same choice of taking damage or running--while ranged dps don't generally set up in melee and won't typically be standing next to a ranged tank. These are my three issues. They are strictly from the standpoint of a gamer that has played a few MMO's in his day. There are multiple ways to fix these issues as well, but I find the lack of any developer response to these issues disheartening, especially in light of the fact that jedi classes are a fixture peculiar to Star Wars, and you can't play a genuine Jedi Knight anywhere else in an MMO.
  9. Pensacola Waiting "patiently" for early access, still.
