  1. True enough voice is not in use on solo, but group play and chat still are (granted chat can be impossible sometimes). Never mind markers. People need to know how to adapt even if they are solo. The point is that hybrid players are thinking outside of the box (sometimes), therefore others who are competing must do so as well.
  2. This is a lot of whining. Ranked or otherwise the whole point of PvP is strategy and adaptation to dynamic variables. If someone is running a hybrid, then adapt. What you are asking is to force people into specific templates so you can plan for them. How about this, watch what the other player(s) are doing in combat and use that to focus/strategize over Vent/TeamSpeak/Mumble. Don't try to limit a fellow PvP'ers creativity with their class trees. Worse thing in the game is the fact that there is an icon next to a players name describing them as DPS, Heals, or Tank. THAT should be removed from the game so that people are forced to think like true PvPers and not key-smashers.
  3. Agreed, it is a worthless skill for PvP unless you are trying to keep a group off a door or turret.
  4. So I've hit 50 as an artificer and it was a great skill to have as I advanced in levels. But now that I'm 50 I question if it is worth having or if I went wrong. Every pattern that I have is 49th or lower and the special light sabers I can craft are pointless. Once you start running flashpoints or raiding the gear is better than anything you can make with artificing and the value of orange items goes away completely. Orange items are the staple to customizing your character with artificing modification pieces. There is money to be earned, sure. But when I can make 50k+ credits a day off of dailies what is the point in using a crew skill to make money in a cut throat market were I will net maybe 2k in per sale. So I just drop artificer and go biochem? It seems to be the only skill that adds any real value after you reach 50th level. Thoughts?
  5. Question for everyone. Does Kira's story line seem to be without a conclusion? I'm talking about her affection story line. I hit 10000 affection and that is it, no special quest or anything.

    Arena ftw kthx

I hope not. If it is, hopefully they limit rewards to titles only. There should be no special advantage given to arena players as far as gear goes.
  7. This is meant for all players who are having a hard time beating their class boss. Follow these steps and your success will be guaranteed, so long as you are watchful of what the boss is doing and willing to learn a fight without instruction. Hot Key Force Kick and then use it on high damaging casting attack. As a jedi knight you will get it at level 18. If you need to delay a class boss from cast and Force Kick is on cool down use Force Stasis to allow time for your kick to come off of cool down. You get this ability at level 24. Apply all other damage mitigation abilities as necessary. Note: If you don't keep your gear current for both your companion and yourself, you will fail. There is no reason a majority of your items and companions items should not be blue or have blue mods of appropriate level. Good hunting!
  8. Sents have two saber throws... one of which is brutal. Also to the points above this poster about how awesome camouflage is, it is junk. I use it in PvP sure, but 4 seconds isn't enough time other than to get people to deselect you. There is no escape here... it is only good for deagroing and breaking enemies targeting. This ability needs to be bumped up to at least 10 seconds if not 20.
  9. Personally I find my role is basically to hang out by the healers and take out DPS that comes up behind the group. Or stop stealths that are trying to slow their healing. I find I'm seldom bored and get plenty of the kills made by the group. I wouldn't call this leeching, it is important that the healers can heal without interruption. I'm also always waiting for the fishing to begin, once someone pulls an imp into the group he is jumped and slain.
  10. I don't know what you mean, I found this an easy class to level. I constantly solo'ed Elite NPC's with ease and even Champions. My self healing worked great and used Kira for leveling up until 50th, no real need for Doc. As for PvP I've found a comfortable niche against classes that require "cast" times. I tear through casters with ease, meaning I put a lot of effort focusing on casters. I also find that I'm highly effective against most every classes, save those that know how to kite. When I'm "pulled" to another player (and normally a massive group) I use force camouflage and escape with ease. In any case, what is your build? I"m guessing your combat. Don't play combat, it is worthless for PvP unless you have a pocket healer. Rebuild your self in watchman and you will find the game play improves a lot for you. Heck you can even get a 30% reduction in AoE damage with the right build for any sentinel template you decide to use... just have to go a few points in combat. Oh as far as the looks of the armor... ya it it sucks.
  11. Watchman is really the only viable spec for Sentinel right now. I understand you will be traveling with a healer so Merciless Zeal may not be as appealing. But you will find may people who agree the damage output for watchman is the same or if not better than combat. Please you will take some overhead off your healer. In addition you will be able to reduce your force kick cool down time, which is one of the most important features of this class. I have not tried focus, but everything I have read says for DPS, flexibility, and survivability it is junk.
  12. Depends on what you plan on doing. After giving this a lot of consideration (playing a sent up to 50), for PvP I would say go Guardian. They have a lot of the same features and do almost as much DPS as a sentinel, but have a much higher survival rating. Sentinel is just simply to soft once their damage mitigation buffs are on cool-down. For PvE go with what ever you like, but Guardian is a nice option if you aren't sure if you want to Tank. You will always have the option in the future, where sentinel you will not.
  13. I solo'ed it. I ignored the clones, used my damage reduction and relied on force kick. It isn't the clones that will kill you unless you are in all green gear. He does a massive burst attack that instant kills you, you have the force kick this.
  14. First two times I took him on I died. After that I figured out it was the Force Crush or Burst or what ever the hell it is (3 second cast time) was instant killing me. After that I just force kicked and the fight was a breeze. I ignored the clones.
  15. So question, has anyone confirmed if Force Exhaustion counts as a burn effect for purposes of triggering Merciless Zeal?
