  1. I play a Sin and pug'in warzones my longest run was 36 warzones to get 3 wins. Pubs dont need a d*nm thing cept for BW to remove the bolster buff imballances.

     

    Just sayin. Aint always about the faction vs faction. PuG warzones can either go decent, bad or really really bad consistantly. Might get one team in 20 that roll thru the enemy but that they way the cookie crumbles.

     

    Get a pre-made life is better. Of course who knows in the future with everyone complaining about everything BW will make it so we log in, get all credit for pvp daily's and a free gear item, valor and credits just for subscribing still.:eek:

  2. yeah, look at me i wear greens and modded oranges and i own everyone in baby warzones so i am a skilled pvper, but now i cant win one lvl 50 warzone because of baddies in pvp gear and that is not fair. i have 2 lvl 50s and 6 lvl 30s but i dont have the time to grind for pvp gear because i have a life and i wont go to ilum because it is not fair because sometimes i am outnumbered in pvp by baddies in pvp gear and that is not fair. pvp gear and open world pvp is bad and wrong, it should be about skill, BW should consider giving players free pvp gear and just get rid of open world pvp.. oh wait.

     

    See, you make arguements like this and its hard to take anything you say with a serious tone since if you have 2 lvl 50's and 6 30s you sure as hell dont have a life and are always here:)

    It's like me taking my Sin and having it broke down next to a sage and saying the sage is OP since it can heal and shield.

     

    You can not compare 1) DPS for tank for ballance and 2) try pub version vs imp version in future "I suck compared to this class becuase.... " theads. Even tho the mirror BW uses is kinda like those found in cheap carnival funhouses.

     

    Other then that I can always count on comming to the forums for a good laugh on a bad day. Thanks;)

  4. You can clarify all you like, these same kids that obviously have reading comprehension problems will continue responding in the same manner, suggesting that its fine because you need the PvP gear first, which you clearly acknowledge.

     

    Believe me, i made a thread about this topic 3 weeks ago when i first heard about the crit crafting change. Unfortunetly as most of the people on these forums lack the intelligence and foresight to understand the implications of these changes until they experience it for themselves and come to the forums raging, posting on the forums is worthless.

     

    But ya i must agree, these crafting changes are terrible.

     

    Well, since BW caves in easily, just complain more and they will add augment slots to the pvp reward gear eventually to make everyone happy. So you get your new graphics for pvp gear, mods that can be swapped out if you desire and augments. Hey why not at this point... keep complaining:cool:

  6. I was an avid SWG player for 7 years, but given the lack of development on the game in terms of graphics immersion, I would not go back if SOE opened the game again for free!

     

    To me SWTOR is pretty much everything I would have expected from a SWG 2, with the minor addition of the KOTOR style UI.

     

    I would go back in a heart beat, even if i had to pay. Faults and all. However it was better Pre-CU / NGE. I met everyone i knew standing in buff lines and cantinas.. best social game ever imo.

  7. This is a game. You paid for it, I paid for it. What makes you think that you should be entitled to some part of the experience that I'm not?

     

    You're one of the people who thinks that sitting at your computer for 7 hours a day and 12 hours on a weekend day grinding through warzones to the point where you're not even thinking anymore means that you should be able to equip more stats and give yourself a distinct advantage over players who may be more skilled than you but can only play 6 hours a week.

     

    And the real pvp'ers are actually looking forward to the implications of this patch. If it goes the way they described, everyone will be able to start rated WZs with war hero gear and then rank up from there based on performance and not time spent drooling on the keyboard.

     

    So, by this (YOUR) Logic, PvE gear should be given away without doing OPs and HMs since they dont have time to do it as well?

     

    Get over this "real PvPers" crap already. People are entitled to want, or desire anything they want. Your rant is as retarded and the ones by everyone else arguing over this subject. It will happen or it wont but either way the "real PvPers" will still play as they are now in the system as it is. Honestly, it seems the more people shout they are the "real" pvper or the "true" "hardcore" whatever are really just gtetting owned and want the easy mode and everything given to them.

     

    BW should just add an "I win" skill for you all or a check box on character creation that lets you declare PvP or PvE intent. PvP intent players log in at lvl 50, Full PvP gear and 100 valor so all this whining and moaning will stop.

    PVE gear should be awful in pvp.

     

    This is wrong. I am not from the WoW generation however. Playing MMOs and pvping since EQ launch(ish). We have always, and I mean ALWAYS PvP'd in PvE gear, there was never PvP gear to begin with.

     

    Now, that said, expertise should be removed from this game period. Armor progession, fine the stats on minor enough that earning Cent, champ and BM armor's are fine since its not that large of a difference but PvE armor and PvP armor should be near identical. Only reason its here (IMO) is so that you can either, PvP or PvE and obtain current end game armors without having to do both.

     

    Anyhow, not the case since you need to replace mods in PvP armors to make them effective since the stats blow so good idea, poor execution by BW

  9. I understand where your comming from. That idea was kinda a collaboration of different people since the duration of the match could be indefinate. However, could have the same format with existing timers 15 min. matches with normal timeouts and medals valor/comms awarded as they are in current games.

     

    Idea was more to have an "open world pvp" feel to it since OPvP seems seriously broken right now. Just spitballin trying to come up with something maybe BW would look at since they seem unable to get good workng systems on their own.

  10. So, open world PvP seems like it will be a bust (for now) since people complain about imballances and what not faction wise so what about a Warzone that is not actually objective based in the sense they are now?

     

    This post might get a little drawn out but bear with me as I explain my idea.

     

    The warzone would basically allow open pvp combat with even numbers. People queue up as normal however, if one side has 20 people queued and the other side is at 15 it would only allow 15 from each faction / side in the warzone to start.

     

    As more from the shorter queue side get in line it will allow even numbers to join the in progress match. These matches could last an hour or more even.

     

    Medals could be awarded for XX kills, (heals while player A kills player B etc.) as they reach each milestone point. IF Side A loses 3 people the 90 second timer starts announcing the imballance and if more do not join on that side or leave on Side B then the people in the match the longest get removed from the match and placed back at the top of the queue till more from opposing side join, at which point they (and possibly more) are let back in.

     

    I would suggest the play field be like a small section of a city, (basically a battle over which faction controls it for strategic value) so there is LoS possibilities and obsticles.

     

    To make use of all classes they could add small objective completion medals. Stealthers need to sneak into enemy base and disable communications equipment, Ranged can have objectives to remove Communications Relay Towers that can only be disabled through long ranged attacks due to location. Things of this nature. As these alternative objectives are completed the player completing the objective gets a fixed amount of valor / comms while the team gets a smaller % as a team bonus.

     

    Basically, there is concern that alot of classes would be considered useless in ranked warzones or what not so by adding alternative objectives that benifit the whole team if completed would give these classes reason to be there.

     

    Basically, the main purpose of this warzone though would be straight PvP. Medals, Valor and Comms based on kills over all.

     

    The alternate objectives would be like icing on the cake. To sweeten the deal, or make it so those classes are more effective in this warzone setting it could be made that if the alternative objectives are completed the team recieves a bonus buff. Something like an increase fixed % to valor / comms for the duration of the warzone. NOT a buff that would improve stats or cause unfair advantages in damage done or taken.

     

    If this warzone were to have a "longer" duration then the normal 15 minutes we have now these alternative objectives could reset every 15 minutes, removing the buff and would have to be completed again.

     

    With this type of warzone you could have very long matches since the queue would add and remove players as needed to keep the ballance and valor / comms are given at each completion goal. XX kills, XK defense points, heals whatever.

     

    Anyhow, something I have been kicking around for a month or so but want to know what people think if something like this could be implemented.

  11. At least I'm not in denial or alone. Many people dislike huttball. It's by far the least popular wz for the very reasons I have listed. My theory is that you guys must be one of those classes.

     

    Actually, I thought the reason it is the least liked by many is that its played far to often being the only same faction warzone. Guess I am really missing something with this train of thought and to think this whole time it was because only 3 classes can play hutball. Damn I need to rethink my thinking.

  12. I agree there would probably be more pvp if:

     

    There was valor per kill (even if it was only 10v per) and there was a chance that the defeated player dropped a chest or something upon dying that had some kind of comms in it. Maybe merc for under 50, then centurion, champion and battlemaster depending on the rank of the person killed.

     

    Obviously, the higher the valor comm is the lower the chance should be but would be incentive to people to pvp "open world" more.

    Fine, as I have said before. Have them take away my in combat stealth thats cool, but, then they need to increase our DPS, make us have a better openning slaughter hit combo and then take a look at other classes and dumb them down some too.

     

    I Hate healers, they have heals and I don't take that away its not fair ! Hel they have dpst too and some even have stealth ! OP much ! /end sarcasm

     

    Stop crying and get back in game and as much as I hate this statement L2P. Stealthers die just like everyone else. My stealth and 5 seconds of cleansing get shut down all the time by people that know what they are doing.

    Holy crap !

     

    They are already handing you everything for pvp for nothing. I know maybe when we create toons there should be a check box for pvp and pve if you click pvp when you start your toon you are lvl 50 with 100 valor and all your armor and weapons in your inventory. Dont have to work for anything, its all free.

     

    That sound like a plan?

    If tanks should not do dmg then DPS should be able to 2 shot kills. If a dps gets hit they die. Same thing you are asking for.

     

    Just play the game, your gonna die and you are going to kill. Get over it already if you want GOD mode play somthing else.

Its these statements that make me agree more and more that the gear needs to stay as it is since carebears like you complain so much, LOUDLY, that MMO dev's listen thinking its a good idea or change it to shut you people up. I pay too and I like it the way it is so is your $15 worth more then mine?

  16. Because of how the challenge in pvp and pve is handled.

    Hardmodes don't get harder over time, the challenge is static, and the path to rewards remains the same no matter how long you took to hit 50.

    PvP however does get harder, the longer time goes, the better gear your opponents will have, so you end up in a situation where you become practically a free kill when you start because most of your opponents are so well geared when compared to you.

     

    My main or say only issue with THIS arguement is that people have to be smart enough in the first place to upgrade their gear. Obviously they are not since we see people daily in lvl 40 green and blue gear or mods entering PvP then whining cause they die in a 1/2 second.

     

    Blame Champ and BM gear all you want but until these morons figure out they need to upgrade in the first place nothing else matters. And as far as that goes its the same with BM gear, etc... you lvl up from 1-50 the whole time working on improving gear and PvP is not a free license to be stupid and then beg for ballance. Ultimately I dont care, earn gear, sell gear, make us pvp in our boxers... but this arguement is long past retarded as neither side will acknowledge the others differing opinion. Pro? Elitists? Carebears? Most games are not that broken on startup, its the complaints, nerf cries and whatnot that break em (granted BW could be the exception here)

  17. Actually no. Between Ilum bugs (which were quite severe for valor farming btw) and kill trading, I'd say there's quite a large percentage of people out there that did not earn BM at all and are now complaining it's going to be made easy.

     

    Really? A "large" percentage? Its almost as if you are saying all BMs farmed their valor and therefor should be punished, you assume to much. Or one could deduce that you yourself farmed valor and are now feeling guilty about it <--- see I can make assuptions too.

     

    Regardless you missed the point. The point was before Ilum and after, every new 50 enters warzones in apparently "cr*p" gear and got through it. It was not that hard especially now with bags the way they are, my roomate has been playing less then a month and is almost BM now, entered warzones in cr*p gear and is now in all champ for the most part doing just fine.

     

    But its cool. MMOs always, always cater to the carebear types. I have been playing MMOs since '99 (when EQ was released)... longer then some of these people have been out of diapers. The cries for "nerf this and that", "he beat me so its not fair".. "why can so and so do this but I cant?" All this is nothing new, for those playing MMOs longer then WoWs existance, and we know going into a new MMO that this is going to be the case, however, just becuase these people complain the most and loudest dont always make them right.

     

    If more people played the game instead of complaining about the games here, most MMOs would be much more enjoyable.

  18. well even so the average person was most likely not 50 valor at 50 before. With the changes it will be easy to maitain you valor and character lvl so at 50 you will acheive both with relative easy. However, as I said I was just explaining what seemed obvious in what the OP was trying to say. Capped by level or not now anyone who pvp's even moderately should be even to level in valor with little effort.

    If they could play as much as you did, they would be at the same rank as you right now.

     

    If BM took you a month to achieve, that doesn't mean it also takes someone who is far more casual a month to achieve.

     

    This means it will take them longer than 1/3 your time to achieve even after patch.

     

    What took you a month before patch will probably take them 2-3 months to get.

     

    This patch only made it so they can also get to BM in a month, the same as you.

     

    And since daily/weekly is based on DAYS/WEEKS and not how many HOURS you play in a game, they're NOT gearing up 2-3 times faster than you.

     

    AGAIN. You CANNOT assume people who are not 60V before patch PvP as much as people who ARE 60V.

     

    In the time you're opening your 25 champion bags, they're leveling to 60V. And by the time you open your battlemaster bags, they're also opening theirs, hence speeding up the initial process and putting people on more equal grounds. However, you STILL have the advantage as the player who plays more because of the BM commendations, which is directly associated with time investment.

     

    You probably won't understand it, but I'm done anyway.

     

    Two things, the above underlined? Retarded statement (just saying) almost like saying its professional athletes fault i am poor cause i cant play as well as they can.

     

    Second, his point (not agreeing or disagreeing, just explaining since it made perfect sense to me) is that most people that are lvl 50 are NOT BM prior so as they are lvling valor to 60 they have to get champ bags for gear, with the new system people should be BM PRIOR to 50 so when they ding 50 straight to buying BM bags. So in essence the poster is correct since they will not have to spend time in cent / champ gear (or wasting time and tokens on it trying to get BM) and will be able to start using the BM bags / tokens immediately. So, ALOT faster then the afore mentioned BMs and they unfair amount of play time.

  21. I do not necessarily have a side in this arguement, as I can see both sides views but, a couple of things;

     

    First off every champion / BM in the game went through the whole "fresh 50" thing. Killed, got killed, over came it and is obviously still here despite all this "imballance" due to gear.

     

    I dont have a problem, personally, entering a PUG warzone with fresh 50's even if its a loss due to thier "uselessness" (as its been suggested). Its part of the game, as it is, so eventually they will gear up and be competitive as well.

     

    Next, everyone keeps saying ballance this and ballance that however, warzones are not ballanced by any means. Most damaging to the ballance is the bolster buff. The Republic Bolster is "buffed" over the Imperial Bolster. Always has been, tested and confirmed several times by BW. I have mails, and SS of the live chat and ticket responses were they have confirmed this.

     

    If you all want ballance, first convince BW to remove the extra buff from the pub side then go back to complaining about gear.

     

    Over all, I agree that expertise SHOULD be removed from all PvP gear. However, keeping the slight increase in stats on the current gear should be fine. It would satisfy the "I want gear progression players" and keep the game in relative ballance (gear based).

     

    Yes, people enter pvp (at level 50) with green lvl 40 items are at a disadvantage however, you can not expect to survive or kill as well as "properly" geared players if you dont update you gear (regardless of skill). PvP gear can hold the same theory. Your lvl 50... gear properly for your level and all will be fine (given that you know how to play your class anyhow). I mean really, I dont hear anyone (and granted I did not read every post out of the 70+ pages) complaining about pre-50 pvp.

     

    Since BW is going to be giving away gear in 1.2 is it only at level 50 that this matters or should they lower the cost of ALL PvP armor so that you can buy pre 50 armor with lil or no effort as well to be competetive? It was not long ago that people were complaining about the gear that got the cost increased on pre 50 orange gear. It really should be an "all of nothing" thing here. Either pvp gear with expertise is unballanced or it is not.

  22. There is a system in place for you to achieve your goal. Asking to have the system changed to make your life easier is bound to upset and diminish the accomplishment of those that have already achieved the same goal within the system.

     

    You mean like them changing it to give away BM title, pvp comms and the soon to be armor that has no valor requirements due to the whinning??

    And as to how to add social points for groups that do not require dialog options, they can just add a 1 point tic while grouped (pve and pvp) while killing things. Either thru X number of kills or xp gain, something of the sort since grouping in general is being social.

  24. I know several people that I have been trying to get to join in on PvP but didnt want to or whatnot and are now looking for more things to do. They did absolutely NO pvp prior to hitting 50 and are learning how now. They have gear that most poeple have that are not familiar with pvp.

     

    Yes, I explain they should upgrade all there gear as much as possible but ultimately its their call. IMO <--- When YOU start paying for everyone elses monthly fee's you can ***** and complain about how and what they do and wear. Till then take your elitists *&^$# and deal with it.
