Alot of sith trained more then one Apprentice. Which allowed there numbers to grow, you also have to remember that not every Darth is a Master.

The Gree have been mentioned in EU for ages as having a past with Coruscant, but I'm not really sure when they were first brought up.

Since she's a Padawan that started training at a rather late age and has had a lot of responsibility thrust on her so her incessant "all grown up" kind of natural.
