the simple truth is the abilities of the empires classes are just animated better, look cooler, and feel smoother. its almost like the republic was added as an afterthought. example one.. Trooper= heaves his gun and clubs enemy Bounty Hunter= Uses jet pack to deliver street fighter style super punch. example two.. Smuggler= hits enemy in the face with gun Imperial Agent= Pulls electro knife and stabs enemy in the chest leaving a knife graphic stabbed into the enemy. The list could continue like this endlessely. i mean just look at telekinetic throw.... it looks like garbage... how can you compare that to channeled lightning. not to mention ability delays like project and mortar strike which dont happen on the empire mirrored abilities.

So I play this game with several of my friends, and to be honest up until this point we have loved it and enjoyed it. We play republic on a pvp server. we grouped up questing on Tatooine our server had 9 republic players on the planet at the time. We decided to try to get the sandcrawler datacron that you have to wait for the balloon for, as im sure many of you know this balloon is on a 40 min rotation so its a pain to get. Naturally there were many max level Imp players at the jumping spot. We asked them in /say just out of curiosity how many players were on in their faction, they said 35. Thats almost 3 to 1. so we waited 20 min for the balloon and when it got there they summarily killed us and prevented us from getting on. This happened the next time around also at which point we gave up and decided to go do something else. so we went to the next datacron where theres a long cave leading up to a ledge, there we encountered another group of max level Imps camping the cron the killed us repeatedly for 40 min, while we sat through 10 min spawn timers. at this point we were just utterly frustrated and respawned back at the med center. we were barely out of the gate of the area when the same Imp's came riding up on their faster speeders and started killing us at the gate. No way past them... no way to quest... no way to get away on their faster mounts. So after 4 hours of persistent harassment and nothing accomplished, we gave up. So i decided to do some reading... about server population. every pvp server suffers from a faction imbalance of over 2 to 1, 3 to 1 in alot of cases. what you get is roving bands of max level characters farming lower level areas. Now I am a die hard believer in world pvp and pvp servers, and would never suggest anything to divert that option for people who desire it. but there are not enough republic players to balance this problem and this kind of extreme and persistent imbalance is ruining the game for lots of players who are just giving up. EDIT= Problem solved we all just re rolled empire and left our level 30 republic toons to rot. Having a great time. FOR THE EMPIRE!

Me and all 12 of the close friends and real life people i know are having a blast playing this game. yeah theres some things that need to be fixed but no mmo is perfect at release. Some people just like to complain.

The money it would take to run the example number of accounts is a drop in the bucket of their advertising and marketing money, and could be the highest cost to gain investment. You people know anything about business?

You honestly dont think they could afford say 100 accounts to spread misinformation on these forums? when you factor in the subscriptions their losing? from a business standpoint they would be stupid not to do it. that's not being a conspiracy theorist that's simply competitive business. It's actually a really intelligent tactic.

I've been looking at these forum posts and I think its time someone spoke out against the blatant misinformation in these threads. Please read this entire post before judging. I BELIEVE COMPETITOR COMPANIES OF SWTOR ARE CREATING FORUM THREADS TO SPREAD MISINFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME TO DETER NEW PLAYERS FROM SUBSCRIBING. Some of the claims in these threads are just absurd, I was in the early game access for almost 5 days and was on one of the first highest pop servers there was. I personally never saw a que time over 30 min on my own or any of the servers in the list. Im not saying they didnt happen im sure they did in the first week but thats the case with every new mmo (Iv'e played them all...) this problem simply does not exist anymore. As far as SWTOR being dead? I also Play wow, have been for years. 2 of my closest friends refused to get swtor when I bought it to try. They have been avid wow players just as long, wouldnt even hear about it. I bought the game for one of them for christmas, i knew it was the only way he would try it. We set up his subscription and when I talked to him the next day I said "what did you think?" He told me "I havnt been to sleep yet was up all night playing I already uninstalled wow." This story is 100% truth. Outside this small circle of friends we have a local hobby shop we play at in a fairly large city. we went last night to play FNM ( a card game for people who dont know. ) we heard at least 12 people talking about TOR and what servers they were playing on trying to figure out how they could all get together and as of right now I personally know at least 25 people who all got this game indendently of eachother. And no one I know has had anything bad to say about it. Now to be fair there are some serious and legitimate things that need to be fixed. such as pvp brackets (must have), Galactic Market interface ( its horrid ) and several UI issues that will just make the game better, amongst other things. BUT THESE ARE ALL EASY FIXES THAT ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT COMING IN FUTURE PATCHES. PROBABLY VERY SOON. I believe SWTOR's leading competitors (who shall remain un-named) are financing accounts for the sole purpose of spreading misinformation about the success and quality of this game to stop the bleeding of their own subscriptions, which by the way are going at an unbelievable rate. If you are interested in this game ignore these deceitful forum threads and just try it.
