It did not work. I got to the step where he said to click Compatibility, and there was no Compatibility tab.

I don't believe so there is play, uninstall, website, read me, and exit. But the thread was of no help, as it helped with the Steam version with different files than the one I have.

I have a shortcut but I would pop in the disc and click PLAY. But it is not the Steam version. I have KOTOR Collection.

It's KOTOR I, I haven't tried KOTOR II yet. And how would I change it to windowed?

Has anyone else had this issue or one similar to this?

NEW UPDATE: After all of the cinematics before the actually game but after the character creation, the screen goes black and says that Windows stuff and closes it. BUT, a new tab was there when it closed labeled "CyberLink Power2Go" and said "CyberLink Power2Go does not support the current screen resolution and DPI setting.

Well I'm pretty sure it's a Windows 8 issue, as KOTOR and KOTOR II both worked excellent on my old Windows 7 computer. Also, KOTOR was designed for Windows 7, the box says for XP, Vista, and 7.

I recently bought a new Windows 8 computer and bought KOTOR Collection with KOTOR and KOTOR II. I was very excited to play it, and when I clicked "PLAY" after installing it started up fine. About 10 seconds into it I get a "KOTOR has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution", and(of course) it closes the program unable to find a solution. I searched about it and found out about "Compatibility Mode" for Windows 8, to run programs on Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP instead of 8. I followed all of the instructions but when it says there is to be a "Compatible" tab after selecting "Properties" when right-clicking the setup, I see just a "security" tab. Is there any other way I can enjoy this awesome game on my new computer?

I must agree. Vitiate is much more powerful than Sidious. In the title it says "powerful". Not sneaky and tricking people(Although, Vitiate tricked many people as well, luring 8,000 Sith to Nathema to consume them), powerful. Vitiate obviously knew much more of Sith sorcery and powers than Sidious. Heck, he made himself immortal of disease. Sure, Sidious might have been smarter with his plan but let's face it; Vitiate was much more powerful than Sidious.

I'd love to play with you, I play on Beregen Colony... I know you said you wanted a PvE server but in SWTOR, there is really no difference between PvE and RP servers. If you like to play with me I'd be happy to make a Sage, just inform me! 😀

It's called a Legacy name.. The only way to fix this your character the first name of your SWG char with Cartel Coins, or create a new character altogether. As F2P you'll get a last name option when you complete Act I but you'll be like Joe'Smith Smith if you don't fix it.

:confused:So I was trying to download SWTOR for a friend and when the installing was over he clicked "PLAY". It opened the SWTOR window and the screen was black but with the little blue loading mouse. After waiting a few minutes, it closed the window. I tried over and over to play but the same thing happened each time. What should I do ? If it is any help, it IS a Windows7.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could make be a SWTOR-themed YouTube channel art for me. I'd prefer no people on it, but almost like the screen of a DataPad in SWTOR or Star Wars. It'd be cool if you could add the name "Dekkin Scye" somewhere on the DataPad screen, Thanks.

That might be one reason, I guess. But I am going to order the Collectors Edition and add it as well.
