    I don't support the idea of anything you have to work for on one character just being handed to an alt, and neither does common business sense.

     

    If you don't have to spend time working to acquire something, that means you can accomplish other things a lot faster, and be "done with" the game sooner. Grinding may be annoyingly painful sometimes, but it's a necessary timesink in MMO's to make you spend more time trying to get things done, and thus more money on your subscriptions.

     

    I understand what you're saying, but the dailies and the prices on the high-level items you can buy with daily comms are enough of a timesink. Then there's the time required to grind money or toons to unlock social benefits... I levelled a toon from 1-50 on imp side just to unlock the rattataki race for republic-side. Social points should not be part of this every-toon-must-grind process. The dailies alone have gotten so dull for me that I'm no longer bothering with them for the time being.. and that's for USEFUL stuff.

    Well... 1:24 PM server time.. 2 people on the fleet (including myself... so really.. only 1 other person is on the fleet).

     

    Sigh... I've seriously been contemplating going back to WoW :/ my guild branch on WoW has a lot of friends that I miss and the dead server has done nothing for SWTOR guild growth.. in fact 3 of our guild members unsubbed and we're a tiny guild so this is killing us.

     

    These transfers are coming too late I'm afraid... mergers should have been done in March.

    Indeed. Most people likely enjoy sticking to a particular toon and it's hard to have the time to do flashpoints or whatever at 50 to get the points (by time, I'm also referring to the amount of standing around trying to get a group to do flashpoints... lol which on most servers nowadays is almost never). And what about people who use their alts for pvp instead of pve? D: There are lots of reasons that social should be bound to legacy.

    sorry I respectfully disagree.

     

    Not everything should be connected to legacy

     

    I know earning social is a pain, but nobody says you need to max it on every single Alt.

     

    It really devalues the meaning of SP and getting the cool high end social gear if you do it once and every character on you have on the server suddenly can use that stuff as well.

     

    It does not devalue social points at all. Social points indicate how often you group and that should apply across the board. My main Gala levelled with my husband and she still had to grind Esseles to get to social 5... I like creating alts but my husband doesn't so my other toons did not get the same luxury of gaining points.

     

    Right now, having to grind flashpoints like Esseles to get enough points on ONE toon devalues social points... so I think a great solution to this problem is to have social points be legacy-bound... that way it makes no difference if you have 1 toon or 5 toons... it's all the same and everyone puts in the same effort.

    The amount of effort I put into getting my consular up to social tier 5 is completely not worth repeating... and whenever the future patch arrives where social armor can scale, it will be really frustrating to have to re-farm the social points necessary to get certain sets for all my toons.

     

    It would make more sense if social points were legacy-bound so that anything acquired on any toon in a legacy will contribute to the total score... because it's hard enough as it is.

    On this topic, the forum search function does not appear if you are not logged in. Why they did this, I don't know.

    I have all 8 classes at 50 (just got my sith assassin to 50 yesterday) and I never had an issue leveling any of my toons. Only flashpoint I ever did was Esseles/Black Talon and I skipped all heroic missions after the starting planet. My first 50 hit max level on Corellia in December with 0 rested xp the whole way. The other 7 have hit 50 on Voss and were all rested the whole way. Of those, 6 of the 7 hit 50 during the main Voss series. The other hit 50 during the Voss bonus series.

     

    You're leveling a sith sorcerer. So Taris is level 32-36 for Empire. Did you:

    1.) Do the Balmorra bonus series when you finished Balmorra? It'll be grey for you now but that was a missed opportunity if you didn't do it when you had the chance.

    2.) Do the Nar Shaddaa bonus series? It unlocks at around level 28. Starting quest is in the Nar Shaddaa spaceport.

    3.) Did you do the Tatooine bonus series? It unlocks after you finish Tatooine (at around level 28). Starting quest is in the Tatooine spaceport.

     

    If you're high enough to be on Taris, then you're high enough to do the Nar Shaddaa and Tatooine bonus series. Plenty of xp in both to push you 2-3 levels higher than you are now. I was often hitting the next planet at the end of the level range for it. Like when I hit Taris which was 32-36, I was level 36 instead of 32 because of doing the various bonus series and space missions.

     

    Otherwise:

    1.) Do space missions. First time you do them gives you fairly good xp. You don't have to do it a second time for the daily unless you want more xp and credits.

    2.) Do PvP.

    There's not really much else you can do unless you find someone to carry you through heroics and flashpoints, but then your xp will be severely cut because of the higher level player.

     

    I did do all of those bonus series... I never had to do space missions on my 3 level 50 alts to level reasonably... and I also never pvp'd. I think I just stumbled into the wrong base at the wrong time. Regardless I still think experience gains need to be tweaked... very slightly of course, but still. Perhaps not for republic but as an imp I do think so.

    It does sound like you got out of sequence or something. Perhaps you're missing some of the bonus series? Not the bonus "Kill X stuff as long as you are here" but the series you get either when you're going to leave the planet or at some point in the future.

     

    It's possible but unlikely.. I've tried being vigilant in watching for new mission-givers... I don't *think* I've missed any bonus series yet.

    Strange. The only time I see this is with stealth-able classes that sneak past much of the trash. You said Sith Inq so pretty sure that is not the case here though.

     

    Yeah I'm sorcerer spec so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm wondering if (since this is my first imp toon) I'm just doing some of the bases in the wrong order? I've never had trouble following mission progression until now it seems lol.

    Oh no, I'm not strictly doing my class storyline. I just don't know why i'm so behind some of these quests. And I've literally been doing 98% of the bonus objectives and all of the bonus series that I get... and I skipped some on my republic toons but they managed to get through the planet quests fine. I'm wondering perhaps if I ran into a base that maybe I wasn't supposed to yet and picked up quests for people who are further along in the planet... who knows.

     

    And to the person who pointed out the search feature: DERP on me! I don't know how I could have missed that. I think I saw it and thought it was a site search as opposed to a forum search... lol brainfart. Thanks for pointing it out even though it's like RIGHT there. XD

    I have 3 level 50 alts and I'm working on an imperial inquisitor for the first time right now. I've never run into being underlevelled until now. I have been doing almost all bonus objectives as well as bonus series... and I've suddenly run into quests where I'm 2 levels under.

     

    I'm also not extremely keen on space combat.

    I apologize in advance if there is an existing thread for this issue... I can't find the forum search function. >_> If someone knows of a bigger thread with this issue, feel free to post a response with a link! I'd appreciate it :)

     

    I don't think flashpoints or heroic quests should be required to keep up with the planet's mission content... I've been doing almost every bonus objective I ever came across and still I'm now slightly behind the mission content for Taris.

     

    On my low-pop server I can't even get a group to do level 50 flashpoints during peak hours, let alone flashpoints or heroic quests while levelling... so it'd be really great if the experience reward for missions was upped slightly so that we can keep up with the storyline of each planet without having to farm kills (which I'm now doing because my class mission and certain other ones are orange-brown to me right now).

    Regarding the upcoming transfers -- how will guilds transfer?

    But again, I'm sure they are aware and are working on it, Why worry bout things that other people are paid to do? That being said, Id gather they will make guilds disban (not sure about guild banks, that seems to be a big question) and recreate the guild on the destination server.

     

    Yeah I'd be okay with banks not transferring (we can arrange for members to pull out certain items I guess), as long as we got a refund for the abandoned bank.

    Very true! The companion gift missions tend to be the most expensive, which makes this problem even worse.

     

    What I sometimes do as a "workaround" is I send them on the companion gift missions and wait maybe 15 minutes, then I pull up the list and usually it refreshes and if I see underworld metal missions I cancel their gift missions, then send them off on the newly-spawned metal missions.

     

    This is really a bit of a waste of time though and a very inefficient "workaround".
