  1. One good enough reason is to play the class that you enjoy the most. Not every one is looking to get into a rated guild or raid guild. You can't make a generalization based on the attitude on some guilds on your server. Well I say they are viable and I have been playing this game since 2011. I have 16 different alts leveled cap I could possibly choose from. But I prefer to play my sentinel, based on I enjoy the class. That's not to say that I don't think the sentinel needs a little love from the developers. And I believe it's coming soon.
  2. IDK, I've seen a some pretty good sentinels on my server that would probably give any one, a run for their money. Maybe it's true for you, that the class is not playable, but you can't speak for me. To play the sentinel effectively, requires a high skill level cap. And the defensive cool downs we have still allows us to compete against guardians. I personally have not played against a guardian I couldn't figure out how to beat or at least keep the match close. And I think some one new to the game isn't necessarily looking to play a class just to become competitive in rank out of the gate. By the time this guy levels his sent to 60, the perceived disadvantages should be fixed.
  3. It's a viable class for pvp, you just need to have the patience to learn the high skill cap required to play it effectively. But once you do, you will realize you can compete with any class. The only reason to not play a class if you don't enjoy the style. IMHO
  4. Look if you call incoming or let your team know that you are under attack, if the no one comes and the pylon or node gets taken, it isn't really your fault. With that aside a lot of new players never let anyone know when they are in trouble so they will get yelled at by everyone else. Here are a few tips you can do to make sure that doesn't happen to you. 1) pretype a "inc pylon/node/door" this way you don't have to fiddle with commands if you are trying to stay alive. Some people will laugh at this advise, but not everyone can multitask. 2) As a sentinel never try and guard a pylon if you are not able to defend it. 3) Stand at between 20 to 30 feet away from the node, but never stand further than that, you might get CC'd, but use your trinket and do a quick saber throw is essential. If you stand too far, you will have to move closer before being able to interrupt and increases the chance to get CC'd a second time. 4) If you are CC'd use your trinket against two opposing players and quickly go into camouflage. Then hit Awe, to briefly stun them. Then run out of sight, so that the sin will have to search for you. (remember now both sins have used their trinkets if they broke out of awe prematurely so you guys are even). 5) Remember, it's about buying time, hopefully some one saw your call for help and are on their way. If not, you can only stall for time, but the inevitable will still happen - at least it won't be your fault. 6) Use your saber throw to keep one sin from capping and run at the second and start fighting! This is due or die, and since you are going to probably lose the node anyways(if no one responds to your earlier call for help) take at least one sin with you. Let's be honest here as much people complain about no calls, very few calls actually get answered in time. 7) use your defense cool downs wisely. As a sent you do have a couple of trinkets to pop to prevent massive damage to you. Read about each ability and think about using when you need to. That's all the advise I can give. But seriously, never try and guard a node if you can help it.
  5. So I purchased the expansion pack, and I was expecting to get the 12 XP boast. Even though I have a month and a half left on my subscriber status, I don't have the boast. Do I need to be a recurring subscriber to get it then?
  6. You have the basics down pretty well, but keep in mind most pug healers don't have the luxury of a pocket tank. With respect to your tank, he/she needs to move her guard around the entire group, instead of keeping it stationary on you. Regarding your healing, I notice that you didn't use revivification. Is that preference or do you not like it? Although you can, a sage isn't really a focus healer. Revivification is a useful hot to apply whenever you have a bunch of your players taking simultaneous damage. IMO, you can boost your heals per second by applying it more often. Your position is good, your targeting is good, but it might be helpful to learn to use focus target. Some players use it, others don't. Also, try to manage your force points better with consumption. You should be able to keep your force above 50% for the entire fight, unless you are in rank or against tough competition. When your force dips below 75% just hit consumption once or twice and throw on a HOT on yourself, and you shouldn't need to stop and recharge. That's it for me.
  7. BC is one of the more active servers atm. Few ex Bastions crossed over which has made pvp more fun. A lot of progression raids going on, check the guild index thread for info. Hope to see you in game.
  8. For watchman, how come there is no challenger gear set? I see weaponmaster, but nothing else. Does it matter for classic gear?
  9. Drama, is what some people live for. If you let people know they can get under your skin, they are going to keep on it. That's why I said, you have nothing to apologize for, because the people you apologize to don't deserve it or even appreciate it. Waiting for the usual suspects to jump on me for writing another advise thread. Ready set go...
  10. I'm a watchman junkie, so I might be a bit bias if I say play watchman. Watchman is a damage over time damage dealer. It is in theory, the best PVE spec of the three. Focus and Carnage are geared as burst specs which is great for pvp. Watchman does well in pvp too. My general rotation is force leap to Zealous Strike, to Over load saber to Cauterize, then Merciless slash. This is your foundation as a watchman, everything else stems from this rotation. Remember that Cauterize can stack twice and Merciless slash can stack 4 times. Of all the sentinel specs I would probably say watchman is the most alacrity dependent spec. Although your gear offers some alacrity so you won't need to stack more. Focus on power and prime state with a bit of crit. You went to have about 2600 to 2700 prime stat to 24% crit. Most Juyo's stack all power instead of crit, which works well for pvp.
  11. Company is a really good PVP/PVE guild.
  12. Too bad you rolled the wrong faction , the pugs definitely need more healers. I play pub side, but the guilds I normally face off against that are quality pvp guilds are: Grim Determination, Sicktwistedindviduals, Cowboyfunk, Sithorder, and Genocide(?).
  13. There was definitely no intent to bash you. I think Ebola, was upset because I gave you advise, when clearly you didn't need me to tell you how to play. Sorry Canin, I should have read your alts at the bottom of the screen and not the user name. She is right, you are a great player.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up. No. Where's your evidence of that? I wasn't part of that recruitment drive. Only Exius and Zanie have the ability to add peeps. . Noted. Like who?
  15. Um no. The sentence subject was regarding his apology that was addressed to everyone on the server (which includes me). Your entire exchange with me was regarding something that happened to you and some one else weeks ago. Which had nothing to do with Canin's apology. It's not an argument, it's a fact. You changed the subject of this thread to be about you. Spare me your equivocal B*** Sh*t. Well I think you are bad also, so I guess because I said it, then it must be true. Real sound logic bud. Thanks for making my day interesting.
  16. So rumor has it :rolleyes Let Canin speak for himself. Don't jump to conclusions, about what either of us had intended to say. Please and thanks. Is that a serious question? Top 1% huh. That's good to know. He made a good song and dance about being bad, and I think it's amicable you would say otherwise. I personally was responding to what he said, not changing his words around. And yes, I would agree with you that the guy is good. I never stated otherwise. You know what? I don't believe in giving people sympathy or petty. If that was what his thread was for, than yes I misunderstood it's purpose. I made no pretense as to who I was giving feedback to. I have been on this server since launch, and rarely come on this forum. Hence if I offended anyone, then I apologize for that. Tbh I really don't have an opinion on Lawlz. I can only judge how he behaved while in the guild and what he has done on here. He instigated this exchange, much like he instigated his own dismissal from the guild. Remember I never called him out on anything, which is why I find it bizarre the thread has degenerated into something personal.
  17. Kettle meet pot. Poor guy is trying to apologize to the server, and you have to go an derail his thread, by making it about you. That's the definition of a troll mofo. I personally wasn't involved when you got booted out, nor do I waste a second caring why you got kicked out. If you don't like me because you think I'm arrogant, that's your prerogative. C'est La vie. I said I was good, not that I was elite, or better than anyone else. It's fine with me if you want to misconstrued my claim for arrogance, but if I said I was still terrible, you know that would be a lie. Every pvp guild runs premades: Grim, Reign, Infamous, company etc. It's my hope that the pvp community continues to grow, and more people will run premades. That's the only way this game will stay fun. To me you are a funny guy, and of course I will take you on in game. I love players who can give me a good challenge. I apologize to the OP for derailing the thread, it was not my intention to start a flame war with Lawlz.
  18. You don't know me, so don't act like you *********** know me. Lawlz you were kicked out of the guild for being a troll. By the looks of it, the decision to remove you was a good one. Secondly, there was only one person I ever wanted kicked out of the guild for helping a known banned member back in. And if you did your homework, you would know that person is still in the guild. So in truth bra, no one was kicked out of the guild because of me. I don't think I ever talked to you in the guild or out of it, so I think your hostility towards me is misplace. But if I hurt your feelings, because I called your friend out, then deal with it in game, instead of coming on here like a ***** and bring your drama with you. And last point, I have to be completely honest, as it turns out, I have no respect for you too boi, hence I can live with you exposing your ignorance.
  19. I don't think I have ever heard you complain in WZ, thus your apology is not necessary for me. In PVP we all have been guilty of flaming the opposition from time to time. I got flamed at by people I respected, and vise versa. Most people have the constitution to let bad talk roll off their backs. Just for the record, I am not taking anything away from the people you just mentioned, but their good, because they are supported by other good players. No one is as good as they appear in a group of their guildmates, if they solo que, myself included. Some people are good, because they have good equipment, more experience or can work well under pressure. There is no secret to being good except to practice and play with good players. Don't be afraid to make mistakes in wz. Practice rotations, strategies, change your talent trees, stat specs. Find out what works best for your style, and practice practice, and yes practice so more. When I started my sentinel before patch 2.8, I played watchman, and I sucked at it. I sucked so bad, that I would barely be able to make the fight interesting when I dueled my guildmates. But now I can own most of those people, because I practiced my class day after day after day. I looked at my talent points, changed gear, tested out rotations, and read about the other classes strengths and weaknesses. There are other players (I will mention no names), that were terrible pvpers until they changed their talent trees, and now they own that **** up. To become really good is not about having an ego, it's actually about being humble, and confident. The best players are usually the quietest. The flamers, egomaniac's, trolls, are all wannabe's. I can say without sounding arrogant that I'm good, only because, I spent a lot of time learning how to play when I was terrible.
  20. This is an interesting thread.
  21. The real issue is, guilds aren't queuing up for arena's, and most people would rather play regs, because Arena's aren't as enjoyable IMHO. The developers made a huge mistake taking out rank 8 vs 8 wz, and a lot of people refuse to play the game again because of it. On our server, we don't have balance competition. Either the Imperials dominate or the Republics do for a period of time, but there isn't a healthy number of pvp active guilds on both sides of the server the same time. On The Begeren Colony, the Exiles pvp regularly, but I haven't seen a lot from the Imp side or the other Republic PVP guilds. People of said the game has been dying for years, yet it doesn't seem to hang on.
  22. Of course there are times for everything. That wasn't my point though. The Rotation that I use, I can get away with not using a double cast of MP. Certainly, when the time arises, I would use a double MP. It's just not my preferred thing to do. The point I was attempting to make was that, skilled commando healers, normally can mitigate their ammo effectively. It takes experience, and the presence of mind to know how to react according to the situation at hand. The one caveat I could have made, commando healing is difficult to master.
  23. Like I said it would be evident to people with high quality reading comprehension. What part of, "it has happened to me on a few occasions" do you misconstrued to mean, I have never fallen below 75%?
