  1. I have never unsubbed but I hav enot been very active due to the pain of finding groups. With a LFG tool I might start playing more often if it works well. I am not a fan of guilds becasue of the drama that is in every guild and the fact that I Do not like being pestered to raid or group when I do not feel like it. As a healer that happens alot as well. So a LFG tool will make getting groups a lot less boring than standing around for hours trying to find people to run.
  2. Since there is a Tauntaun thread and a Orobird thread, when this was posted in the Orobird thread:

I figured it'd be a good idea to make a topic for it too. There have been three Raklings posted on databases and considering how it's gone with the Orobird and Tauntaun, I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 were available as one obviously is and like the Orobirds and Tauntauns, is linked in a set of 3.

Midnight Rakling - Hard Mode Lost Island's final boss.

Crimson Rakling - Gotten from completing the "Tracking the Origin" Quest during the Rakghoul Pandemic Event on Tatooine.

Pale Rakling - Bought from Jeelvic in the Dune Sea (X:-896, Y:-925) for 60 DNA Samples which you get from completing quests and/or exploding from Raghoul disease during the Rakghoul Pandemic Event on Tatooine.

However, considering these aren't even mentioned in the patch notes, this brings up the question of just how many other pets there may be?

And if a Developer (Specifically, if there are any other pets) feels like confirming anything, that'd be great.

    subbin

  3. I like them both. Once I realized you could swap most of their gear though, I have found Iresso to be better for my style.

Being a healer, I could keep the Qyzen up but I spent alot of time keeping him up. Then when I would aoe I would sometimes grab aggro since Qyzen aoe is not great.

Iresso on the other hand seems to hold aoe targets better which allows me to force quake a lot more.

  4. Also, Somehting I have not seen mentioned. You are on Quesh. One of the first things many of us noticed when we first got to Quesh was the huge leap in damage that the mobs deal out.

I was having little trouble before Quesh levleing in much the same way you described and after I left Quesh I was able to go back to that same type of leveling. But while on Quesh I found myself having to heal alot more my companion and/or meditating to recover after fights more often.

It's not entirely you. When asked in genreal chat that morning, several others on my server reported the same thing. We were all getting hit a lot harder then the previous planet. Stick it out and get off Quesh and, I would wager, you should be able to go back your standard rotation.

  5. Loving it. By far a better launch than SWG, Wow, DDO, and AOC. Although I will giv AoC credit. they had a fairly smooth launch with few ques. Just a lot of exploitable bugs and non working seige sytem.

early access was a great Idea and handled appropriatly. Most the complaints about EGA was people having to wait in line. big whoop there. We wait in lines all the time and we pay to wait.

Ques suck, no one likes them , but after many MMO launches, they have come to be expected at first. They will smooth out. they always do.

  6. I would rather have a LFD tool rather then standing around for hours spamming for groups. mainly tanks. Seems our server has an abundance of healers atm.

Im not as young as I was when I started MMO's. I dont have all night to waste spamming for groups.

you can argue this or that ruined this or that game. You will find others who will argue this or that saved the game for them. It's all a matter of perspective. For many, this tool allows them to enjoy all aspects of the game instead of just skipping the early flashpoints because groups take to long to find.

  7. Why not sub? It cant get any worse from here.

Thats what was said about SWG before the NGE went into effect. Boy were they wrong.

back on topic, it depends. I will probably resub for a month. if I continue depends alot on content, while max level, and UI.

As a healer levleing as a healer the ui is horrible. Have to constantly rearrange my icons to heal a flashpoint, then back again to level with.

If the Ui is not improved upon fairly fast then it may discourage me.

Will have to decide when the time comes to roll my dps toons or wait a few months. But if I am having fun levleling then I could easily level multiple toons while I wait.

  8. I was a Bioware's great fan. But now i can say for sure...Blizzard is by far superior because it has a Policy. No game will be launched if they are not 1000% it will roll!

You obviously were a Late vanilla/BC/Wrath baby wow player. you were not that at the launch of wow where server ques were upwards of 4 hours. You were not there when servers were unplayable from crashes their entire first week. Constantly up and down.

So yeah Blizzard did a wonderful job on their first MMO launch and were 1000% ready to roll. /end sarcasm since the OP probably can't tell what it is. Blizzard only gave a day or two free game time from all the crashes after the mass complaining they got. Their Customer service took days to give you an awnser if ever.

In the last 7 years, WoW has come a long way but they in no way have had a better launch then Bioware has with SWTOR. Yes Bioware has much to improve and answer for. Horrible UI's, Horrible AH system etcetc. but even though ques suck, they are not near as bad as WoW had their first 3months.

  9. Give it time. The game is still very young and many people do not look at it as they are still learning the game. Also, as there is no huge amount of extra credits in the majority of the playerbase as of yet, people tend to be more thrifty.

Yes there are options on the vendors but honestly most the quest gear/badge gear is better or we get better in drops from the instances.

But I keep plugging stuff on the AH and some sells some does not. As usual though alot of low level stuff does not sell fast since we are leveling and out leveling it pretty fast. The orange moddable stuf is great but a new concept to many people as well. Will take them time to understand it.

  10. dont expect stuff to sell. everyone is leveling up, getting blues and greens from quests. leave that aside, people dont know what stat is good and what item would be good yet. it needs at least around a month for stuff to start selling.

Not everything wil sell, but I have had alot of luck with blue weapons, relics, helemts and onther random things that drop. rarely do the greens sell but once in a while a few do. There are always those who will buy. At all stages of the game.

  11. Maybe I am doing the wrong quests because to date, I have not seen one as a reward yet and I am lvl 20. Was pretty discouraging until my wife said "I can make techblades!" I was so excited!!

I saw one on Taris, it was from a quest deep in. Then I think I recall getting one on narr Shadda. But Yes they were when I was early to mid 20's Until then I did not see one either.

  12. Now I will ask something pretty stupid prob. but as I am at work and no search function on the site here goes. Why exactly does a melee need aim? I am loooking at all his gear and thinking this is wrong for a tank to even need aim when using a sword. Perhaps I am missing something and aim is for more then ranged weapons?
  13. Speeder is what? 8.000 Credits at Level 25?

I was broke yesterday, and 1-2 hours later I was at 10k again. Just from questing and picking up everything I kill.

This at Level 21. So money is no problem at all, although it will seem like that way a few levels lower.

Bigger problem ist the abysmal GTN interface that doesn't let me SPEND my money.

EDIT: If, however, you insist on researching every artifact for every item on your craft list... that will make you broke. I just go for the ones useful to me, and only highest level I am able to do.

The Training is 40k. This is what gets people. the speeders cost are minor compared to the 40k dump. But if you slow crafting down from 20-25 you can easily save the money for the mount. When I hit 25 I had 68k and had not hit tattooine yet. But as you get Mid 20's level the quests start pumping out a lot more credits so you can craft again.

  14. IT's based on when you complete your story lines as to when you get each companion. But around lvl 25 is when I completed my story for the third although I was a tad over level for the world. Most missions were always green so You could get them sooner.
  15. Gonna try something new for this game....gonna go Sage and try heavy or possibly even full healing spec.

Any advice for a newbie healer?

Don't go up the healing tree first. Ther are about 5 points in the second tree( telekenetics I think at work atm). one adds 100 force to your pool and the other increses healing by a certain %. After that shoot up the healing tree. I did the reverese in beta and found that some of the instances were more challenging due to low force. The extra 100 force really helps.

  16. I would propose one change in your great guide.

"She is also the only class which can reposition her own party members, through the Rescue ability, as well as being only one of two classes that can perform an in-combat revive. None of these tools makes the Sage superior to her counterparts as a healer, but they do emphasize the Sage's strength as a healer - control"

You refer to the sage as a she. Now to me its not major but I can already see the kiddys crying that not all sages are female. This is the only point where I saw you favor a female over being neutral. Like I said before nothing major but it stuck out ot me like a sore thumb.

Keeping the wording gender neutral eliminates the trolls to some degree.

  17. what i dont get about this staggard launch is servers come down on the 19 th midnight then up on the 20th why wait to see if the servers crash on release why not try it now

It is to allow those of us in EA a chance to get out of the starter zone before te masses. At least thats the theory of it all. most new MMO's, without EGA have massive lag and server failures due to the amount of people fighting over spawns and the mass congestion in these said zones.

By giving us EA it takes some of the server load of these starter areas and allows( in theory) for a more stable server.

Of course the masses only see the Im not in yet and run hollering about it instead of it being the bonus play time that it is.

  18. They didn't say it from the start, it was a while into Pre-orders before they discussed early access and how it will work.

Incorrect, On July 21st the first official day of preorders they had announced the EA was a first come first serve. It is one of the reasons I wnet striaght to Gamestop ( brick and morter) and ordered my copy on the 21st.

I went to Best Buy first but they had no clue baout the preorder codes at that time so I left wand hit gamestop. I was going for the preorder code and if the stores did not have it i was going to keep looking. All this was becuase it was said first come first serve on preorder codes. Of course at that time they alse said that the codes were limited which seems to hav e changed to all that preordered.

Of course it's all pointless. This is the age of entitlement where people are raised that everyone should win. Which is very evident from the younger gamers I see comming into the market every year.

  19. Peoples failure to read does not equate Biowares failure to inform. We, the public, hav ebeen informed of the redeem your code early , ever since EA was announced and preorders went live in July. It is not their fault you did not read or comprehend the FAQ's and other posts about it. This launch is no where near a failure yet. Still waiting to see how stable things are once the game opens to everyone and servers get swamped.

For now Im glad to have gotten to lvl 10 and out of the new area last night. Was nice not competing with every tome dick and harry for those cages this time.
