  1. So...still nothing? I thought "7.0 is meant to invite new players to the game while also bringing new experiences to returning and veteran players." What a load of PR BS. I don't know who's advising you folks, but you're going to alienate more players than you're going to gain, if this last "expansion" is any kind of bellwether. Said it yourself: this is a 10 year old game. You'll never turn it into an MMO that can compete in PVP or raiding with current games. You can't modernize a skill tree enough to ever matter. Introducing yet another new stat for the RNG gods doesn't make it more interesting. The strength of the game is literally in it's name: Star Wars. You should be focusing on story, and the ability for players to make their own. The 30 - 60 min. of story content is a joke. The trash mobs, and fighting in between actual story "content," is tiresome, and not additive in the least. Most quality of life changes, that actually matter, have already been made; it's like you're messing with the UI and crap just for something to do, and it's completely the wrong area to be focusing your efforts. I'm starting to suspect the game just doesn't have the funding, and is just milking it for now. If the story content is supposed to be drip fed, you've wasted half the year already, and left your fan base anemic.
  2. Logged on today to find that my characters had all become midgets; the graphics are all squished but the load screen and UI in-game are completely unaffected (maps and bars looks fine). I've opened other programs to see if they've been affected, i.e. something to do with me, and other games work fine. I've restarted my computer and updated all graphics and monitor drivers (they were already up-to-date). Now I'm reading that this is an issue that has cropped up in the past, and has something to do with "EDID" information (?). I am somewhat tech-savvy but this is over my head. And frankly, I shouldn't have to download third-party software so that I can go into a file registry and change a bunch of code in order that my game works as it should. Please fix this ASAP. No issues prior to the patch.
  3. I also agree; the option to turn off or move the pop-up in the interface editor would be awesome! It's far too large as it is, and while it does disappear after a couple seconds, it pops up at the most inopportune times (like on top of the baddies I'm trying to fight). I understand that some people like the pop-up, but we need an option for those of us that don't, thanks!
  4. Also experiencing the Theron "ghost" bug during the conversation on the fleet at the end of Objective Meridian on one of my agent characters. I also suspect something might not have flagged properly in the Objective Meridian questline for my double Agent. I ran these quests with my loyal Agent yesterday, and tonight I was going through with my saboteur Agent. The saboteur Agent chose the 'saboteur' dialogue option before attacking the shipyards, and I didn't receive the cutscene showing the Imperial fleet bombarding the surface of the planet. However, when I arrived back on the fleet at the end of the Flashpoint, and after speaking with the Dark Council, Theron was angry that I hadn't done anything to stop the bombardment of the planet, saying something about 'trying to save lives along the way of breaking up the Empire from the inside.' Theron stormed off (like he did with my loyal Agent) but immediately afterwards when Lana invited my character to the officer's party, his 'ghost' started talking as if he was still standing next to Lana. He started by chiming in about how he's glad we stayed apart from the Empire (i.e. as the Alliance) and then when my character said she didn't feel like going, his ghost continued by adding something about 'definitely not going without her.' The ghost bug didn't appear on my loyal agent, presumably because the game recognized that he'd stormed off. But this time it seems conflicted as to whether he left or not, which I suspect is tied to the fleet bombardment flag and the missing cutscene. (If there is a third option to stop the bombardment, I haven't tried it yet, but nonetheless, the bugs are present even if I didn't successfully stop it from happening, as I should have then seen the cutscene I experienced on my other agent, etc.etc.). Thank you!
  5. 1) Also experiencing the "Item Modification Perk" bug, or at least I hope it's a bug--subscribed and never had to pay to switch out a mod before. And it was a mod, not an augment or augment slot that I was trying to switch out, and the game required me to purchase the perk before I could do so, so somehow the perk is tied to any upgrade on the weapon/item, not just the augment slot. (I haven't tested to see if I'm now required to purchase the perk on each character, as someone else mentioned here, but the description stated 'legacy perk' so I assumed it would be valid for all of my legacy characters.) 2) Received an email from Darth Vowrawn that intimated that we had failed in our mission, and that I had somehow deflected blame away from Vowrawn, for which he was grateful. No idea what he's talking about because as far as I could tell, I had completed the mission to perfection (i.e. destroyed the Republic fleet with the weapon at full power and all subsequent conversations were regarding our success). Reminds me of some of the mistaken emails we were getting from characters (::coughJaesacough: over the last couple updates. Hoping this doesn't reflect an incorrect flag in my story that will affect future outcomes... Thanks.
  6. Fourth attempt to fix the missing companion bug has, again, failed for me.. My Sith Warrior character Amae completed all content, i.e. completed the entire main story and subsequent DLC, before accepting the Ossus missions. Her companion Malavai Quinn hasn't been available since accepting the Ossus story quests. The only caveat was that she'd sided with the Republic on Iokath, so I believe the game mistakenly flagged him as having left. However, as she'd romanced him and they'd 'reunited' on Iokath, he should still be available. This was confirmed by Customer Service with my last ticket, who also told me that they can't restore him as they've been instructed not to. The last three patches fixed the issues with the text on the companion page and returned him to his previous reputation level. But I am still unable to summon him from either the companion page or the Odessen terminal. Further, my Sith Inquisitor Yas'mina who sided with Zash, saw Khem die in a machine, and then subsequently reunited with his zombie-self on Ossus still has him available on her companion page. The patch notes mentioned fixing his Alliance Alert, but should he still be available to those of us who completed the mistaken Alert...?
  7. Thanks! They've responded to my tickets to only say that it would be addressed in a future patch, but I hadn't considered asking for a restoration to the terminal (I'd never tried to summon him there prior to his going missing). I'll give that a shot. That is what mine used to say until today, but I can't fathom why that was fixed but not his availability. Good luck!
  8. UPDATE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE To paraphrase, Customer Service has been told not to restore him at this time while they investigate the issue because they are concerned that he won't work properly. So those of you that had him restored got lucky. No timeline for a fix, so hope for patience. This latest patch did not return my companion Malavai Quinn to my warrior character Amae. He cannot be summoned, either normally or via the terminal. His influence was fixed in the previous patch. The patch today fixed the text description regarding his reunion with the warrior (no longer incorrectly states that he both reunited with her and departed), and I also received messages in-game from my Republic companions saying they were uneasy about the character rejoining the Empire. She even got an auto-completion notification for the Fractured Alliances quest. But no Quinn.. I get that these issues aren't a priority for anyone but those of us that enjoy role-playing, but after the third try to fix this issue, one has to wonder what exactly is going on. P.S. I've also seen two other people mention not receiving Scorpio on their Agents after today's patch.
  9. I'm a chick and I really enjoyed the Vector storyline and dialogue. I thought it was well written and I liked his forays into the hive mind--I guess I just didn't see the bug in him. More of a guy with fantastic powers of telepathy and a silver tongue. However, I do agree in that there should be at least 2 romance options per sex per class. Not everyone enjoys the same characters or story telling, and honestly, it can really ruin the story for those of us who like to build up our relationships with the companions (ahh Dragon's Age..would that there were another like you). I played through both the Smuggler and Jedi Consular romance with female characters as well. Both classes only have one option for the female of that class (though some side-nookie is an option for either). Another would have been nice. The Smuggler with Corso is alright, but (for me) it was just 'so-so'; it had it's moments, but overall I found the "dumb country boy" lacking. The Jedi Consular was terrible! (Again, for me). I worked my way all the way to Hoth to get this totally bland-bland-bland guy, and the storyline of the relationship just doesn't seem to be given enough time to develop. I disliked it so much that I'm waiting until they add another option before I play that class again (Nadia doesn't appeal to me either .)
  10. Just adding another person to the list... I am also experiencing the issues with crouch, cover, and cover pulse. I can't used crouch or cover without getting stuck in the crouch/cover bar but unable to use any of the crouch/cover powers. Cover pulse doesn't work 90% of the time, and the crouch/cover bug even happened when I went after the red power-up in the middle of the Voidstar, while running! I wasn't even attempting to crouch/cover and all of a sudden my toon is crouched and unable to use anything with a cannon in her face...
  11. That's your nice rejoinder? Your argument (or rather someone else's whom you agree with) is to simply take it because we are used to it? OK pal..LOL. That and the stress the poor fellow, and I assume yourself as well since you agree, are experiencing due to not really knowing when the game will come out? Really?! Your self-induced stress over a video game release is not a solid argument against a staggered release. LOL.
  12. I like the idea of rolling through starting areas..::GASP::..by myself! Crazy right? Your scenario does not bother me in the least. I paid to get in on the 20th, and if I get in before that I consider myself lucky. Oh, and I haven't gotten in yet either, but having gone through Launch with other games, I still appreciate what they are doing.
  13. Here you go..pulled this from another thread. Here's something Stephen Reid posted that may shed light on the Early access issue: StephenReid's Avatar StephenReid Joined: Oct 2010 Today , 04:44 PM Hey everyone. We absolutely understand you want to get in and play the game early. It's one of the reasons we expanded our Early Game Access from a maximum of five days to a maximum of seven days. However, there are a couple of important points to realize about today's opening salvo of invites, and the procedure in general for Early Game Access and launch. First, Early Game Access and launch is not supposed to be a stress test. In our previous Beta Testing Weekends we got up to very large concurrent number of players and brought invites into the game at a very high rate. That was done to stress test every aspect of our systems and servers, and essentially to see if they broke. In some cases, they did, but that helped us improve for launch. For us, launch isn't just about stuffing our servers with as many people as possible. As anyone who's been through a large MMO launch can tell you, that experience can be painful. Our aim with this launch was to ramp things up gradually, to spread our player population out amongst a variety of servers, to maintain all server types, and to keep queuing to a minimum (although we expect that to happen as we head towards December 20th). So far, all that has been successful for us on Day One. The second thing to realize is scale. We invited more people to play Star Wars: The Old Republic today than many other MMO launches manage in their entire head-start process. As I mentioned earlier today, when we opened pre-orders we had a huge spike in numbers - far more than most MMOs capture at launch. That was the initial rush. After that, our pre-orders settled down. What this means is that tomorrow, you'll effectively start to see the pre-order timeline expand. You'll see people who have pre-ordered later than July getting invites. The day after that, more people will be invited. We're actually planning to invite more tomorrow than today, and invite the same number again on Thursday - at which point we'll be into the original 'five days of Early Game Access'. Last thing. Why aren't we continuing to send waves over time? Two main reasons - one, because we need to see that the servers are maintaining stability over time; adding a lot of players in a short period (in other words, stress testing) can cause stability issues. Two, our plan is to continue to add servers - but carefully, and in response to demand. We need to monitor that demand and roll out servers accordingly. A long-term recipe for MMO failure is to add a lot of servers early on, and then when population decreases, have to close those servers and merge them together. Our aim is for Star Wars: The Old Republic to be around for a long time to come. Today's just the first step in that - an early step, too - and we'll be running smoothly, with a stable population, before too long. 14. I think the staggered roll-out is a good idea. This way we don't have overcrowded questing areas and long queue times. This is Early Access, not Launch. Take that into consideration as well.
  15. If any of you have played an MMO game at launch, or even when new expansion packs come out, it is extremely painful! I appreciate the fact that they are rolling this out at a smooth pace. I don't want to be doing my starting quests with 25 other people..do you? Also, please remember that they didn't have to do Early Access, but they did. And, they did it in a way that was smart because now they can spread out entry to the game over a longer period to YOUR BENEFIT. I don't know of another company that has done this. I think it is awesome. Just saying.. Oh, and I haven't received my access yet either..so yah, I'm in the same position. Just different perspective.
