  1. Actually Revan was REALLY dark side... then REALLY light side.

The whole idea of having gear based on your attunement was a bad idea to begin with:

    1. Determines your choices for you, by simply auto picking choices for you. You get the initial pick, but after that it is all down that path.

    2. Kills any idea of redemption. Hell the story doesn't even make a note of most of your total deeds, at no point do your characters or companions really talk about all the bad or good **** you have done. Its like all they care about is the immediate choices. In some ways KOTOR2 did a better job about this issue than SWTOR did.

    3. Punishes people for being Empire>Darkside>picking romance choices or Republic>lightside>picking romance choices. As those few choices push you back on your alignment and make you take longer getting to each tier.

    4. Makes you choose between what your companion thinks of you and your Alignment.

Ok, this one I can sort see being a good thing, but really, unless it majorly pisses off my companion I will choose my alignment over my companions very easily Manipulated affection.

  2. As of right now it pretty much sounds like they won't be adding in new characters till an expansion.

Which mean no SGRA's till then...

Like I get that bug fixes need to come first before ANYTHING ELSE, but I think the majority of players playing the game are doing it for the storyline, not more raids.

My only hope at this point is that they retract this idea in favor of just slight adjustments to the current companion list in order to allow us to romance them... I mean some of the characters already sound like they want to jump your bones even if your female.

  3. Inc WoT:

I have played my SI to level 38, she is a female and I have had a total of 3 options to flirt with characters. I decided to turn down my first male companion because the dialogue options for this conversation were ****.

And don't try to tell me that Bioware isn't good at writing female flirts, I have romanced the **** out of Kaliyo on my 29 IA, male, and she has had some of the best flirt/taunts I have ever heard of.

I also played a Female IA to about level 24 during beta, and it was quite rubbish. I couldn't seduce ANY ONE, other than one of the first options in the beginning of the game where I would sleep with a guy and get lightside points... ***, I mean I am not even going to start with the problem of sleeping with some random guy to get lightside points, but How the ********** did you think that allowing my IA to not SEDUCE a guy, but to flat out give him sex in order to change his mind would be a valid option?!

Women don't work like that in real life, a woman IA should seduce you, take what they need, and leave you broken if they *********** feel like it.

Its like when they made the IA they said, "we can make him 'James Bond' in star wars..." and then when they realized that they would have to make a female version, they gave it to some random crappy writer, didn't bother changing the lines that Kaliyo says to you to make you think she is hitting on you, and not even bother allowing you to still romance her?! Lazy *****.

TLDR: Don't play a female IA, in fact you should probably not play a female in this game at all, its clear to me now that the majority of the storylines were thought of with a Male character in mind, maybe a few of them were given a bit of thought more than awkward male companions but the over all storylines are not worth it as a female.

  4. The funniest part of all this is that I'm sure that 90% of the people asking for same-sex romances are not homosexual at all.

Most of them are guys who just fantasize on seeing lesbian sex scenes. A lot of people I know or see on forums who played same-sex romances in ME or Dragon age are heterosexuals...

I understand that we add same-sex content for homosexuals because it would be fair for them, but adding that content for heterosexuals just just fantasize on the thing... well... go and buy a magazine or something... and stop screaming and making all this fuzz about that, pretending it's to defend to rights of the homosexuals.

(I'm not targeting anyone in particular here in this thread).

Yea, I also know of a very strong population of females that play male / male relationships in Bioware games. Its more than just for the LBGT community.

  5. This is a game. Not a place for political statements.

The game was designed for mass audiences.

To imply that there should be same sex relationships or it's somehow discriminatory, would then lead to problems like "Why aren't there any Muslim holy sites I can make my character Pray to", "Why are there no Bibles", "Why can't I marry my droid", "Why can't I do more explicit things with my companions", etc.

If there ever is same sex relationships implemented my accounts will be cancelled.

Not because I have a problem with same sex marriage, relationships, etc. but because My children play this game and I do not need a form of entertainment to become that explicit about sexual relationships they cannot comprehend at their age.

I sincerely hope that everyone can find what they like in the game but I seriously doubt that anyone is playing this game specifically so they can have a relationship between characters be they LBGT or not.

Actually its quite clear that you DO have a problem with it, I mean if you just didn't care about same sex romances you wouldn't even bothered to have posted and just would have read the title and passed over it.

It is not the same as a religion, a religion is developed based on specific era's and regions. On earth we have these specific religions because of the era's that they were created, in Star wars, we have "The Force." which many different religions have popped up in order to better explain it.

Back on topic, same sex relationships are not society based, as they happen in every single society, including animal societies.

People play games for different reasons, in this game people are mostly playing it for the storyline, in which the storyline has a very predominant theme of romance amongst all classes and genders.

Also since this is confirmed as being part of the game eventually, I suggest you cancel your account now and save your self the money of how many months you would have payed for the game, either that or "see you at launch" of SGRA's...

  6. Ok, lets set up some ground rules:

    1. SGRA's are Same gender romance arcs. OGRA's are Opposite Romance Arcs.

    2. Bioware has stated that they will have SGRA's in the future.

    3. If you are arguing against SGRA's keep it civil and leave religion out of it. I know that is impossible, so the best you will probably have to do is just state "I am against SGRA's", other whys you are likely to get am infraction and get your post taken down.

    4. SGRA's appeal to more than just the LGBT community.

Now that it is settled, I want to talk about SGRA's, while they are being introduced later on I thought originally it was ok, that I could live without them, but as I am playing the game I realize that it is directly effecting my storyline.

Just looking over the options for most classes romance arcs, they are very limited, because they are supposed to be very in depth. Adding in new character's means adding in more content that some will think is a waste of time, where just fixing it so that flirt options are allowed for either gender will hasten the time to add this feature in the game.

No new dialogue, or at least a very few amounts of dialogue vs 2 new companions per class.

For those that don't want to see the options of flirting with SGRA:

I am not opposed to the idea of having an option in game that flips romance arcs on, off, just SGRA, or just OGRA. If you can't even get on board this idea, then you should really just not post here at all, because you have nothing to add to the discussion.

    Just a few questions unresolved:

Yes, they say they will add this in, but is this before or after capital ships? How about in the first major content patch? or somewhere in between? They say they want to add in the SGRA's with new companions, how many new companions is Bioware have in store for us?

  7. Yea, the romance options in the game are very lacking for most classes till level 30+.

Whats weird is the fact that depending on your class and gender you get a different number of romance options. Why does Sith Warrior have 2 females and 2 Males, yet Bounty Hunters have 1 each?

One way to help this is hopefully the inclusion of SGRA's, something Bioware said was "coming soon," as even if they add in companions per class to solve this, that would give us at least 1 option per class.

Some classes seem to really get the shaft when it comes to romance options, and like a poster above said, be lucky you choose the option that at least gave you 2 choices.
