  1. Do you use discord even when not in dungeons etc? For casual social for instance?
  2. Hi all, I’m a returning player looking to join a guild that has an active community on their voice comms package (discord/team speak/mumbles/Ventrilo). I have a few characters and don’t mind if the guild is LS or DS. I’m currently in a guild that is almost full, yet I’m the only person that frequents the comms channel. As a returning player, it makes the game feel a very lonely place and I’m adamant that I’m missing a lot of the games content as a result of not even knowing about it. In the past I’ve been a very active raider in WoW and I’ll look favourably upon the chance to raid again, though I’m not sure I want to do so 5 days a week like before! Most of all, I would like to feel part of the SWTOR community and be able to converse with my guild mates and help out wherever possible. I’m a social player but, with nearly 1000 people in the guild and only me in the voice chat makes the guild and the game feel very soulless. I love the game aesthetics and theme, I’d really like to feel a part of it instead of SWTOR feeling like a 1 player game, as it is at present. Please only respond if you have a guild that feels like a mature guild and NOT a holding pen of alt characters. Many thanks for reading and I look forward to finding my new home of online friends soon. 😘👍
  3. I haven't even visited the GTN so far, but I have to say that I don't feel the game has bad mechanics because items are cheap because: 1: There are so many thousand people on your server all levelling their own professions, therefore the GTN will naturally be saturated in surplus items. 2: In order for you to sell your items that you do not require (taking up to much space, no profitable use, cash flow etc...) you will be required to compete with other tradesman. 3: A high competition between seller = good news for purchasers, as sales people have to offer reduction or suffer cash flow issues. 4: If you wish to make money, find out what items are attracting a higher mark-up and re-trade accordingly. Then buy the cheap items you could use in your old profession. 5: bulk buying cheaper items in order to resell at higher values is a risky business, as it offers positive reinforcement that they are sell at the correct price in order to improve cash flow. This will then reinforce the cheap prices, as you can't plausibly buy every item that everyone else is selling cheap as you may soon find you will have surplus stock that is worth even less than you procured in for in the first place. 6: Wait for your server to stabilise and predict that some people will re-trade to something else when they have more game experience. 7: I understand the feeling of frustration when you hit a level cap and expect to be able to afford the perk straight-away. However, persist with your goals and you will find it is publishable with a bit more effort and time. 8: When you level your alt, you will find that everything comes easier, as it has a nice lvl 50 butler serving him whatever his/her needs. 9: Some of the richest people I have met have been the most chilled out and not money focused as MMO's generically make you money with very little risk. It is however the human right to have freedom of choice that really screws things up. Income - Expenditures = (+/-) total assets. If you can't control one, control the other 10 Wear sunscreen. Note: I never buy anything from vendors, GTN or other people whilst levelling, as it is quite achievable to do so without this additional cost. Visiting/playing the AH game will slow your progression down which is counter productive to the reason you visited the GTN in the first place. Granted, it would make a few fights a lot easier if you were min/max'd, but gain another level and you can do it ok in Oxfam gear wearing your aunts ballroom slippers Most important rule in the universe: Income - Expenditures = (+/-) size of your wallet. If you can't control one, control the other Selling things for really low prices is a market strategy called "lose leaders". It happens all the time in the market place. Most noticeable for myself (as I was young and had my first flat at the time) was the baked bean price war in the mid 90's where cans were selling for 1p a can!! with the maximum purchase of 6 cans per customer (come on, who is old enough to remember that?!! hehe). So is this a game imbalance that we are witnessing? My feeling is that it is not, it just needs to find it's feet and everyone needs to find their place in this new society. If I ever want to earn some more money, I roll an alt. This helps me feel that the game is still fresh and I have new Q's to do, more companions to help me gather resources. OK, its not the quickest way to make money, but if you're not spending it and your having fun whilst making small top ups to your larger pot, then it is beneficial irrespective of your view point. Sorry for the wall of text, didn't mean it to go on for so long!! Hope this helps. and happy hunting
  4. would be great if you could have one bank for your account, it could be on a nice big ship showing all you different companions in it!!! Expensive as hell, but think of the strutting power owning one of those bad boys!! As a bounty Hunter, I think I should be able to steal yours though, therefore getting it for free
  5. Thought that when you cancels a crew skill you were unable to use/equip the special items they can produce? Been looking into Biochem and nice looking implants on their as I only have one implant on my lvl 25 BH I never spend money as I level so the med packs/buffs would be a welcome addition. One thing though, can your companion use your med packs/buffs also? As I think that would be quite awesome imho. Thanks for your replys guys.
  6. Have to say I love and hate proffessions/crew skills in equal amounts, as I just want to do them all!! but then get frustrated if I have to change them around at a later date. I really like self suffiency also, so doing them all is a no brainer. However I am struggling with allocating them to specific chr roles. I love to heal, so I think that it would be sensible if I allocated them the best proffs that would suit endgame content (PvE). I believe that the Agent, Inquisitor (Heal and Tank), Warrior are all well allocated (unless I am missing a trick). Below is a list of my thinking process associated to each chr class/role. Have you had the same thoughts? or has someone else requested the same info and this info is already out there? Would really apprieciate your feed back. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BH Healer - Arms Tech (really thinking of cyber tech though in all honesty ot help produce nice hand me downs for all alts) - To make all weapons whilst leveling, as all the companions I will use, all utilise firing weapons (Mako, Gault, Blizz). This will also allow me to equip 2x nicely crafted pistols for myself. This chr is causing me the most headache (Armourer/cyber/bio/arms) as I think this will be my main chr and plan to raid heal. If I chose cyber then I could create a lot of mods for other chrs coming up behind it and I hear Bio is rock solid which would come in useful at end game (good stat bonus and reusable). I also am weary of taking Armourer away from Agent. Agent Healer - Armourer - To make armour for myself and first companion 2 companions. and keep it up-to-date. Inquisitor Healer - Sythweaver - To produce nicely crafted armour that may be used to level aswell as level cap BH Tank - Unsure as per BH healer Inquisitor Tank - Artifice Warrior Tank - Biochem, or arms tech if BH Heal is Bio low level chr that can be a phamacy to all other classes, pretty much like a Sith butler I dont currently have any ideas of starting a dps chr, but I might (at a later stage) create one for PvP purposes - Any redundat proffession not covered by my Healers/tanks. Thanks again for any information that you can throw my way. 4th May be with you. Ironcasket
  7. How about a huge crafting respec cost? This way you can level up all the professions, which will also cost a lot of credits (causing a credit dump), and then pay an agreed cost to swap. This way people don't have to grind a new profession out every time you get a slight increase in another trade. Costs for doing this would be: Materials bought. Extra time levelling craft. Large craft respec costs. Not saying I have thought this through but my initial feeling is that it might just work.
  8. hehe, I'm not asking you why you need to download that amount!! As long as you don't blow up my house when you take over the world with your massive evil computer.
  9. Thought that may be right. only thing is, I think I only have 20GB a month download >< so will have to wait for the game. Doh!! hehe
  10. As the title suggests will Chuck Norris finally meet his match? Can he defend WoW against all odds? or we he finally be shot out of a Sith Empire torpedo tube? Well all? WHAT'S YOUR GAME!!!!!1!!1!!? For me it has to be the wommmm wommmm "that is not the game you want to be associated with"
  11. I have been sent my email to say I can play the game. YAY!!!! but wait, something is missing. can it be my game? guess what, yes it can. /sigh. Anyone have the same issue? I spoke to Zavvi.com yesterday and they said they sent it out already. They must have played a Jedi mind trick on me, as no money has been taken from my account yet /Requests a group hug...... please.
  12. Thanks for the ever so speedy heads up from all you beta vets Iron is now a happy boy /hugs Love Bio also though, but need some raw data to see if it is gonna be a raiding craft. I normally play all tanks or healers with the crafts associated to min-maxing for raids, wonder if raid gear > high end craft gear. Could mean that arms/armour crafting skills are redundant at a certain point. But lets see what it's like before I go making and hard thought decisions. In WoW my prot Warrior was armour smith and my holy Priest was a dress maker as this helped them a lot in preparing for raids. As a prot Warrior it was always a big chore to get your gear right before you actually started to do exciting raids stuff.
  13. Are people allowed to switch between crafting skills? or is this another consequence thing? I want to go Armour mech, but will level up Scavenging, slicing and Underworld trading. Then whilst at high level I will drop Scavenging for Armour mech to craft my own raiding gear with better stats. I think you should be able to switch as this sort of makes sense, but just wanted confirmation on this. Thanks in advance. Iron
  14. I thought Yoda was a very old ewok with hair loss? Have I been fooled all these years? hehe Iron
