  1. In the movies like Revenge of the Sith and TV Shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars (which both are my favorite movie and TV shows of the franchise, respectively), this game doesn't have the land, space and aerial battles like shown in TCW and in the movies.
Reason to completely discredit everything this poster is saying. His favourite Star Wars film is Revenge of the Sith.
  2. With mitochondria being responsible for making things work, EVERYTHING work, what if we were able to "communicate" with it in some way?
Communication requires a reciprocal understanding. I take your point to mean that the mitochondria might respond, in some way, to neurological or biochemical processes in the human organism, which sounds plausible and removes much of the mysticism. And probably already functions like that.

By this I mean what if I could somehow stimulate those mitochondria to produce immense amounts of ATP, energizing my body to give super human strength? Attain speeds beyond belief? Propel my body to acrobatic feats of "Jedi-like" proportions? Manipulate mitochondria around me in other beings/organisms/molecules to suit my biddings?
Why would mitochondria have the ability to "unlock" these latent powers? Why would they remain untapped if their attainment could have suited human biology previously? By what scientific mechanisms could this possibly work?
  3. When the jedi talk about bringing balance to the force I laugh. Because they clearly misunderstand what balance means. They say bring balance to the force by destroying the dark side of the force. But they don't realize that destroying the dark side of the force would bring imbalance not balance. Because balance means there is evil and good. If the dark side was destroyed there would only be good. so the jedi's quest would actually bring alot of imbalance to the force instead, good thing they never totally succeeded.

    Has anyone else noticed this.

The explanation typically proffered is that the dark side is like a cancer, ergo removing said cancer would be a restoration of the true equilibrium.

Though you and I both probably feel that passion and control can be effectively balanced.

  4. There is a real theorem that a random variable will reflect its underlying probability over a very large sample. In this case, we're using Metacritic's user rating of 5.9: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/star-wars-the-old-republic/user-reviews

Putting 1500 random gamers to the test with SWTOR for a month and have them rate it on a scale of 1-10. You will very likely come up with an accurate measure of the game's worth based on that many reviews. That is what we have here and that is why user reviews are far more powerful and accurate than the skewed 'paid' reviews you'll see from sites like IGN, Gamespot, etc.

Swtor's real score (I think its a bit high):

    5.9

Let's compare to World of Warcraft:

    Cataclysm's real score:

    5.2.

  5. Personally, I found Wrath's pace much more accommodating to my playstyle (lol scrub) because I take school and my friends seriously. Cataclysm had much more of a grind early on, and required more coordination and time-invested to make the same strides. And tanking for people who had been used to AoE zerg-fests (myself included) was just a chore.

TOR's difficulty, right now, seems about where I'd like it to be. Besides the fact that I love Star Wars, the storylines and moral decisions.

  6. I had gone into this game assuming I'd want to play a Sith Warrior, Juggernaut specifically to tank; I got him to level 32 and had been noticing what a lot of people have commented on. Despite powerful attack animations, I'd spend far longer than seemingly necessary on a fight, exhausting my all of my abilities.

I'm leveling a Powertech tank right now who is almost at the same level and it's worlds apart. I'm sure BioWare will buff Juggernaut damage output, and when they do I'll be sure to pick it back up. But I don't really want to pay $15 a month for a tank class that feels like a wet tissue whose only strength is its inability to be pulled apart easily.

  7. It isn't a question of fairness. In the game you stand for something or you don't. I don't think they should reward neutrality.
There is a mechanical reason: it is just as much effort to stay between good and evil as it is to go completely good or evil.

There's a story reason: neutral factions exist and would want to reward players for that neutrality. If you're Sith, look at the Revanite faction. If you're a Smuggler or Bounty Hunter, easy enough to see why.
