  1. i've started using him on my lvl 30ish jedi knight, and through most of tatooine / the first 2 hours of alderan all he's done is comment on how hard floors make it difficult for him to assasinate, nothing in the conversations (main and side) and whenever i go to murder a bunch of people (darkside ftw) he just shrugs this definitely isn't the HK-47 that we all love and care about, this is a neutral version of that blasted T7 unit in HK form. but after the insane amount of month's between announcing HK and implementing him i had hoped for quite a bit more interaction. so now instead of at least having 1 companion that supports my wicked ways i have 2 that hate me and 1 that's indifferent unless i shower him with gifts
  2. thanks and that site's really useful thanks for that as well
  3. Hi, i was wondering if someone could help me find a piece of armor. supposedly there's a orange grade armor piece that looks similar to a wraidskin chestguard (picture link below) but it is not called a wraidskin chestguard. does anybody know of such a item and know what it's called? I'd really like to get it for my jedi knight since I'm not to fond of the jedi robe's. pictures
  4. that's generally my tactic as well and it works out fine, though i do force choke before crush, since when u just pounce them they usually still don't know exactly whats going on so choking them before they can cast defensive skill's or knock backs. and if your smash doesn't do 3-4 (in strokes of luck even 4.9 ) then: a. u aren't specced in the rage tree or are missing the skills/perks that enable this b. the target has a defense spell set up or is being protected c. the game bugged out (I've often smashed groups of mobs using this tactic and only dealing 2k wile they have no defensive skill's active, doesn't happen often in pvp though)
  5. yes and no, yes because they limited it via the default settings no because if u looked it up, u could create a cfg that allowed 8k or even 16k textures. so wile in base the same problem, they didn't cripple the players ability to say "i don't care what u say i say my rig can handle it"
  6. if they want to make it more accessible for the big picture that's fine. but they could have just added a "use cinematic models/textures" option in the options menu that warns u that the mode is extremely demanding of even the highest end pc, or alternatively allow a ini tweak to force the use of cinematic model's/texture's. but this isn't new, the same method was used in the original KOTOR, the revan model used in the in-game rendered movies were higher quality then the one's used in the regular game because at the time pc's could not handle the HQ model well. it later got ripped out and modded back in as the normal model so a strangely shortsighted decision was made regarding the textures. if high end pc's had problems rendering the max res textures, don't remove or hide the option, put it behind a warning or make it useable via a ini tweak. that way only people are informed of the issue or only people with enough knowledge will enable the feature and these people will also understand and accept it if there rig can't handle the max res textures. it's nice that they are trying to fix this for the masses which will be difficult but as it was in the game at a earlier stage it should be easily restorable for the ini tweaking/game modding people who don't need a easy fix to get max resolution textures back.
  7. to all the people saying i dont see a difference. there can be multiple reasons for that, your resolution is so low u cant tell, your monitor is so small u cant tell, your already playing at lower settings so the transition from medium>medium is indeed not noticed or your blind as a bat. pick whichever suits u. but for people with a modern GAMING grade computer combined with a 24" full HD or higher monitor, it is very noticeable. granted it's not game breaking but for those of us who payed about 2k for high end hardware so we can have our games looking as good as they can, and then paying another 50 on a game, we would like to be able to run that game on the highest possible settings, weather that cripples low end machines or not, thats why u can chose. is high cripling your FPS? change it to low problem solved, just because this issue does not affect low-medium end pc's or not everybody beeing a GFX nut (i dare say i am) doesn't mean that this issue is not as important to us as the low fps issue is to u. now there can be a valid reason for not allowing high quality textures out in the big gaming world. the textures might be so big in the big picture that it pushes the memory use over the 2GB limit for 32 bit app's. the high textures might put so much strain on the engine that it starts to crash a lot. it may even require so much from the engine that is simply cannot cope with the increased amount of textures it has to load and therefore cannot load everything in the environment. all any of us want is a look behind the picture and know why high isn't implemented, and if it's a simple bug why is medium becoming high. no company likes to show weakness or show the weakness of a product but in most cases, like this. knowing why would put a stop to topics like these, because someone from the community can answer why and then the topic ends.
  8. i'm sure a topic about this has popped up somewhere but with no search function and 100's of pages i dont particularly feel like looking at every page if it has been made. so my suggestion/request is to have the companions alignment reflect in the character screen, appart from giving a clear indication what alignment a character is armor's seem to change colors depending on alighnment. i have a light armor robe that when equiped to evil jaesa (neutral alighnment) is almost pink. but when i wear it (dark V) it's dark red/almost black. since dark side jaesa is evil to a psychotic level i figure she's at least dark IV, which would make this armor look awsome on her instead of... ehr... pink... pictures below for comparison. http://i43.tinypic.com/2n9f6za.png
  9. i'd say revan, now i haven't read the books and what not just seen the movies and played the KOTOR games. but the main argument for vadar seems to be he withstood sidius's lightning who was the most powerfull sith lord in the galaxy, so vadar's "tough"... but judging from the movies sidious was nothing but a pathetic old geezer waiting for death to collect him. where revan fought sith lord's and jedi masters who did more then sit on there *** and cast force lightning once or twice. judging from what i've seen them do i'd even place malak way above sidius. and as for vadar vs revan, revan cause he actually did some battle and fought the mandalorians and a couple sith lord and jedi, what little we did see from vadar actualy dooing stuff was not really that over the top or impressive, even in his younger years.
  10. gooing slightly off topic here but... does anybody know if his robes are obtainable? and if so how?
  11. ah so it all comes down to finding the right template... them my companions shall not rest untill they've brought back one of those jackets thanks for the info
  12. Does anybody know what crew skill u can use to craft jacket's like the one in the attached picture? i thought it was synthweave but at least at medium it seems to be only armor's and no robe's (or jackets as they are apparently called). http://i44.tinypic.com/141p1qw.jpg i really prefer the look of the robe's over the look of the armor's which has kept me wearing this jacket even though i probably should ditch it for something better (as i'm currently level 22 and the armor is for level 13:P)
