  1. i love reading posts for people who actually understand pvp and what the bolster system ACTUALLY did for it
  2. THANK YOU SO MUCH this is just a small part of what ive been saying. Having a difference in gear, having to learn your class in different situations... learn which stats improve your character the most, this is what leads to having more skil... not everyone running around ****** everyone and having no REAL idea of how they did it. Sure those of us with skill still do very well, but this is not helping the game or the players in the long run... it is a short term solution for casual players who want to have no idea what they are doing and still run around in pvp. And it makes it MUCH more difficult for those of us who actually care about PVP Its a bandaid for a broken arm. And does nothing for the overall health of pvp.
  3. lol so because i dont post on forums i dont know how to play the game been subscribing since launch have 7 lvl 50s... and i play every class thanks tho nice try
  4. If i wanted to play wow... i would play wow i dont play wow because they ruined it by making it way to easy for people... dumbing down skill trees... nerfing raids and instances.... it ruined the people who actually want a challenge regardless of the various opinions i have stated in this about the who whats and whys to my opinion the one thing that i stand by is that DIFFERENCE IN GEAR CREATES CONFLICT AND CHALLENGE for anyone who has played for the last few weeks you know that going into a WZ and taking off your gear makes you more geared than people who spend time on their character. That is broken and backwards. yes i still do very well in WZs... no i dont play a smash jugg, actually i play like 3-4 diff classes for a change of pace every once in awhile. But ultimately what ruined wow for me and A LOT Of pepple is that its like playing lego batman nowadays as opposed to what it used to be... batman arkham city (in this comparision) both good games, but if i wanna play lego batman im gonna play lego batman... i wanna play arkham city. **** wow... **** arenas... **** everything it has become compared to what it used ot be and if swtor continues down this same path it will turn into the same exact game. SUre Wow still exists but the caliber and type of players it attracts nowadays are very different than what it used to be no im not 12... no i dont play smash juggs or marauders... actually i prefer healing or tanking because i find utility more useful in WZs. and if you take ONE of posts out of context and try to analyze that as my only opinion than you are closing off a broad spectrum of what im actually trying to say. This patch still sucks... and its sad that this game, sooner rather than later will be dumbed down just the way all other MMOS are... so that simple people can play it like a simple game... instead of the game MMOs of old used to be, and should be.
  5. lol do you even read posts? when did i say no one will ever get crushed? lol... the initial argument is that rewarding people for putting no work into their character is ridiculous. also that by diminishing the difference in gear will strongly diminish the conflict and rising situations of having that difference. that i have become a better player by being pitted against all skill and gear level of characters. and i would rather be forced ot overcome someone with more gear than me with my skill than never having that opportunity... pvp in GW2 is boring for that reason, and the same thing will happen here.
  6. you say that as if thats the only thing that happens in a match. one person with even gear and the other with no gear. Im talking about the entire spectrum. thats where it becomes interesting. But i have taken out more geared people than me and been taken out by undergeared people but learning by approximately even matches is absolutely false. then there is no difference in situations to teach you new tricks, new reactions, rotations. YOu're not being forced to try anything new because you're not actually being tried by unfair odds. necessity brings about change... not mediocrity.
  7. see and thats cool man, just two different opinions. i like the conflict... i like the frustration of getting your *** handed to you forcing you to seek a better option. And in an mmo crafting and farming money augmenting and gearing out those things are work. But you never will seek the answers if you dont have an experience to force you to. i prefer a broad spectrum of completely under geared to way over geared it makes every match interesting in its own way based on whos geared in what class and how many of them. instead of just a mix of evenly geared people with a few differences in class make up every round.
  8. this is the first opinion i actually understand. The recruit-war hero gap is terrible, and a total ***** to grind out... but you can go from recruit to war hero in a week of actual pvp at this point. sure it does suck for that week, but at least you have a reason to want the gear, and once you get it some satisfaction from having it and not getting hit like a truch anymore. i guess im more specifically talking about leveling than 50s, because it says if people are missing gear pieces.. or mods.. armorings... or augments they get a bigger bolster and thats where the complaint comes from.
  9. what a bold and ignorant statement. i enjoy the contest that comes from fighting people who are much more geared than me just as much as i enjoy crushing some lazy player who has no idea what they are doing.... because when i get crushed i actually learn how to play my class. just because someone wants to keep a gear differential in the game says nothing about the reason they enjoy it and it takes a very ignorant individual to make such a specific opinion just because they disagree.
  10. how else do you expect to get better? how else do you learn that improving your own ability and gear is an important part of pvp. Ill tell you i learned nothing about my class when i was crushing some lvl ten who couldnt even dmg me... i learned going against someone who had way more abilities to use and much higher health in ways to kite... cc... interrupt an inbalance brings about conflict and change in behavior if everyone is geared mediocre... soon skill and match excitement overall turns into the same thing same thing happens in pve... people do the operations when they are hard and they are fun, then they get nerfed and no one cares anymore, it becomes routine and boring. no i would rather be forced to carry seven baddies for an epic win, than sit around with a bunch of even geared everything and just go through the motions over and over again. thats not fun to me.
  11. i would rather those players dont have to do absolutely nothing and still be rewarded... i believe in working for my gear, and being rewarded appropriately... if thats not the case whats the point of crew skills for pvp players... stims and grenades? and when people hit 55 and actually have to gear out they will be completely confused, nothing they did the entire way up made them any less effective in warzones and then all the sudden they are completely gimped... teach players how to play, not reward lazy *** people.
  12. its funny when ignorant people say qq when someone has a differing opinion than theirs in the negative. your opinion is fine and good and although pvp and pve do differ when you hit 50 you have to get better and better gear to overcome other people's gear. There are plenty of people who have equal gear level with me and thats when skill comes to play, but when you have a vast array of people who just dont care about their contributions to a warzone it is blatantly biased to give them the same boost as someone who puts monumentally more time and effort into the game than them. nothing in my post said gear based progression is necessary.... only that to reward lazy players by giving them more of a boost than players who do absolutely nothing with their character but queue three warzones a week and log off is completely bogus.
  13. yea and 1.5 million of those people left and never subscribed. if they are going to cater to f2pers they need to put just as much effort for subsribers as well.... our own brackets... forcing people to at least get a freaking advanced class before they pvp i can handle f2pers ruining my matches, but now the fact that i cant even help myself to overcome their blatant lack of skill, ability, awareness, and gear with my own gear just makes it all the more frustrating.
  14. The fact that they are rewarding people who take no time to get their gear, have no idea how to play or gear their class, and then queue for warzones expecting to get carried by those of us who do is just ridiculous to me congratulations you have no idea how to play the game so you get EXTRA bolster in warzone in my opinion over the last year bioware has been focusing on the wrong group of people. Trying to make the game easier for those players and making it more difficult for us to use the knowledge we have of the game to be better. If i spend the time farming money, and mods and armorings or augments I get less of a bolster in a warzone. Focus on encouraging players to learn how to improve their own character... not sit in their own ignorance and not have any motivation to improve. The players who are bad are the temporary ones. The ones who are good are the loyal ones who will subscribe to bioware, giving them the money to maintain the game. Keep nerfing us and we're all gonna leave when the next mmo comes along. Because for the last couple of years thats all we've been doing looking for a game that pits skill against skill, not caters to all the baddies who flock to this kind of game hoping to be carried, or that it will get easier and easier until they can play it like lego batman or little big planet. (great games, but not what im looking for when i log into an mmo)
