  1. This Week in Aurebesh has returned from vacation and to catch up, I added two new posts last week! First up, I recreated two predominantly Futhork language signs from Corellia: When You Come to a Futhork in the Road, Take It Second, here is a guide to quickly completing Iokath's "Macrobinocular" Daily Quest and some suggestions to improve some of the daily quests there: “Scouting Iokath” Daily Quest Guide If you have a moment, I hope you'll check 'em out!
  2. This Week in Aurebesh, I continue examining neon signs from Nar Shaddaa including one written in the ancient language of the Sith. In addition, I review the brand new Manaan Stronghold! Turning Day Into Night Time
  3. This Week in Aurebesh, in honor of the return of the Nightlife Event, I translate and recreate a pair of neon signs from the bright lights of the Smuggler's Moon. I've also included a quick review of the event itself. Bright Light City Gonna Set My Soul On Fire
  4. This Week in Aurebesh, I continue my look at the posters and signs of CZ-198 focusing on three displays seen in the flashpoint Czerka Core Meltdown. Czerka: Titans of Industry, part 2
  5. The last couple of weeks, my posts have covered non-aurebesh topics, but I'll get back to translating next week for sure! Last week, I posted my top five list of hair styles I'd like to see added to the appearance designer, and this I week I give my review of the new Iokath daily area. Iokath Dailies: The Good, the Bad and the Walkers
  6. It took me a while to get to the request, but this week I've recreated a pair of signs from CZ-198 including the menu from the Cafezczerka vendor stall! There is more Czerka material than I can cover in one post, but I thought I'd start with a fun one. Also check out last week's entry with a recreation of the Arrival/Departures board from the Hutta starport. Czerka: Titans of Industry, part 1
  7. This Week in Aurebesh I translated and re-created a massive poster on Coruscant that combines both the Aurebesh and Naboo's Futhork languages. In addition, I also share my thoughts on patch 5.2, The War for Iokath. Futhork meets Aurebesh
  8. After a week off, This Week is Aurebesh is back. I've re-created in english two colorful advertising posters than can be seen both on Carrick Station and in the original Huttball Arena! Shop Together. Happy Together.
  9. Despite my plans to take the weekend off, the news from Star Wars Celebration inspired two new posts this weekend. The first post adds my voice to those who have been asking Bioware to add a memorial to Carrie Fisher to SWTOR. And tonight's second entry is my attempt at translating the Aurebesh text that appears on Finn's medical pod in the The Last Jedi trailer. Just Breathe
  10. This Week in Aurebesh: Discover what's playing on the big screen in Kaon Under Siege! I translate all the scrolling text that can be seen in the abandoned theater in the great Rakghoul Themed flashpoint. No TV Party Tonight
  11. This week I delve into spoiler territory. Caveat Clicktor! A friend on the PTS asked me to translate a poster he saw in the new Imperial daily quest hub on Iokath and I was surprised by what I discovered. It has big implications for SWTOR and possibly the whole Star Wars saga! Falling Down a Bottomless Pit is Never Fatal
  12. Thanks for the suggestion! I've been thinking of doing Czerka themed post and I'll be sure to include it in the very near future!
  13. This week's post is a my list of the top five best non-cartel market mounts in the game. You can still hit the road in style without spending a single cartel coin! Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride: Top Five Non-Cartel Market Mounts
  14. This week I translated two Alert signs on Dromund Kaas that lay down the law in the Sith Empire as only the Sith can. The previous two entries include more translations including two travel advertisements and my completely canonical explanation how Hamlet's Elsinore appears in neon letters on Corellia! The Sith Empire Asks That You Stay Alert
  15. This Week in Aurebesh I do something a little different and present 5 totally non-important changes to SWTOR that I'd like to see. Nothing here will kill a raid boss faster, nerf that class you hate in PVP or earn anyone a point of CXP, but I think they'd be good additions to game. Next week, I'll be back to translating Aurebesh! Top Five Dumb Wishes for SWTOR
  16. This Week in Aurebesh I translate the Aurebesh readouts that pop up during the animated sequence that is a part of the recently added cartel pack opening experience. Last week's post covers two advertising posters for the Coruscant Market including one in which capital of the Galactic Republic is infamously misspelled. Are You Experienced
  17. I'm still using Oofalong's old concentration rotation modified for 5.0: Open - Force Leap / Zen > 1 - Focused Burst > Force Exhaustion > Concentrated Slice > Blade Barrage > Twin Saber Throw/Slash > Zealous Leap > Zealous Strike > 2 -Focused Burst > Blade Storm > Concentrated Slice > Slash/Dispatch > Zealous Leap > Slash/Zen > Got to 1 There two burst windows; Force Exhaustion primes the second, and I have just enough Centering for Zen just as I'm about to hit the first. It may because of I'm low on alacrity, but I've noticed a half second gap in the rotation after the first burst window (I think the old Blade Dance channel used to smooth that over) which I've been filling with Twin Saber throw or Slash (if focus is good). I substitute Dispatch for Slash in the second window when it's available.
  18. This Week in Aurebesh is back to translating Aurebesh with a new post detailing the display screens of the Galactic Trade Network. I also share a few thoughts about the announcements from Thursday's livestream. In addition a post from a couple weeks ago translates one of the common advertising posters seen on fleet. Have a look! I'd Buy That For a Credit
  19. Happy New Year from New Outriders! With the new year, NOR is back into the swing with weekly Operations and Conquest nights. We're also having fun with Uprisings and keeping our fingers crossed for what is come this year. NOR continues to welcome anyone looking for a relaxed guild to call home with all comers welcome on raid nights! www.NewOutRiders.org
  20. http://imgur.com/O1p1dec Those are the three screenshots I used for numbers. 1 to 6 make sense from context, and am I'm equally certain about the 8 (anytime you see 113 in Star Wars, you know an 8 is coming next). The right edge of the 8 glyph seems to be slightly cropped, but on close inspection you can see the shaved edge of the second vertical bar. The 9 is in the subway station and like a lot of signs down there, seems to be inverted. I suspect the zero is simply a vertical bar without any hash marks, but I'm not confident enough to say for certain. I did not notice anything new in KotET, but there is a cut scene with a close up of a monitor displaying the same text in both Aurebesh and Zakuulan. Using that as my starting point, I was able to piece together the other available letters. Five repeating words are inscribed on Vaylin's cloak: Loyalty Eternity Destiny Family Sacrifice. I have not been able to make heads or tails from the writing on Arcann and Thexan's robes. The robes were added to game prior to KotFE's launch and I suspect they might predate the finished Zakuulan font.
  21. Over the holidays, with help from the very thread, I took some time to decipher the Zakuulan writing introduced with KOTFE and put together a guide to the "language". I thought folks might be interested to check it out: http://i.imgur.com/XMIu3Q8.jpg I've not found examples of J, Q, X and the number zero, so it's not quite complete, but there is enough here to read almost every use of Zakuulan in the game. For more info and some translation samples: http://www.generic-hero.com/ThisWeekinAurabesh/2017/01/05/zakuulan-language-primer/
  22. I'm taking a bit of left turn this week, with an introduction to the Zakuulan language. If you've ever wanted to read the signs and monitors around Zakuul or the inscriptions lining Vaylin's robes, check it out! Although I was not able to post here, I did update the blog over the holidays with a tribute to the great Carrie Fisher and a short review of Rogue One. Zakuulan Language Primer Happy New Year!
  23. I have just a short post this week, detailing the information Aric Jorgan sees through his sniper scope in KotFE's "Disavowed" chapter. With the latest Livestream hitting today, I also tossed in a few opinions on the upcoming changes to Galactic Command. Cat's-eye View
  24. This week, I thought I'd share my first rough review of KotET. I've endeavored to avoid spoilers, but have touched some of the new additions to the game from the story to Galactic Command. First Impressions: Knights of the Eternal Throne
  25. I'm still working on KotET, and I'm sure to have something to say about it in the weeks to come. In the meantime, it is also Bounty Contract Week so I thought I'd translate the big bounty board seen above the BBA section in the Cartel Bazaar on both Fleets. This led me down a rabbit hole leading to another version of Aurebesh used prominently throughout SWTOR. There are major differences between this font and the official Aurebesh, but they exist side by side in the game and it's been neat to read signs that I'd previously dismissed as gibberish. This is Not the Aurebesh You're Looking For
