  2. I have observed that Gunnery Commandos seem to be very much at the mercy of the gods of RNG. I've noticed about a 200-250 dps difference based 2-3% better crit rates on parses. So now I guestimate based on averages of parses. Notwithstanding all that malarkey, their overall utility makes this a fun class to raid, providing relatively consistent damage output. Having a couple of decent Gunnery commandos in a 16-man HM/NiM is desirable in my opinion.
  3. While some of the guilds who'd initially expressed interest in participating in this endeavour have chosen not to do so, some guilds and members did. We are currently working through the expected initial learning and acclimation period as everyone gets up to speed on 16-man raid nuances. We will be back to progressing through the current NiM content and ready for the new content in short order.
  4. I'll throw my likes to <Serenity> and/or <Shadow Republic>. The former being my first choice.
  5. Or maybe: - Shadowz - Death Starz - Rising Stars - The Risen - Phantoms of the Shadowlands - Slash 'n Burn
  6. I must agree with Keeroo. The centering issue has been around a long time. The RNG problem is more pressing, methinks, since it absolutely has the largest impact on Combat's sustained dps capability. Leaving us at the mercy of the RNG gods is a mistake that punishes elite and average skilled players alike. No other class has a built in 10-20% penalty (assuming the RNG and Crit gods hate the player) for doing nothing wrong.
  7. Your last statement brought to mind a question of off-hand accuracy. Methinks we Combat spec sentinels could probably live with all the existing RNG if there were a skill to buff off-hand accuracy to parity with primary accuracy. This would reduce off-hand miss chance significantly; the resulting dps increase would more than make up for dps loss due to RNG. Cheers.
  8. Congratulations KBN on the Class Representative position! I'd also like to thank you for penning your guide. I play a Combat Sentinel and my observations are from a strictly PVE end-game perspective. I agree that Combat has far too much RNG influencing ability use and can result in you "mashing buttons like a coked-out ferret" to maximize dps. It's liveable, but I'd like to see the RNG factor reduced in some small way. While our role is specific in raids, our versatility could be improved slightly by increasing our AoE capability. This need not be by much: a slight increase in the damage of TST and Cyclone Slash (reduce the focus cost by one as well). This would put us on par with the favoured Gunslingers (XS Freighter Fly-by) and Commando's (Mortar Volley) as far as ability to deal with groups of adds without making us OP methinks. My last observation relates to our last-ditch, save my backside ability, Guarded by the Force. While this is to be used judiciously, it seems in some fights that the 99% damage reduction is meaningless. One example of such a time is the explosion/surge at the end of Heirad's Lightning Storm. Our defensive cool-downs can mitigate the majority of the damage from Lightning Storm, but the last burst of damage seems to completely by-pass the DR granted by GbtF, in NiM mode at least. Further, other classes have abilities that make them immune to damage completely (Force Barrier, Dodge) for much less cost. Therefore, I would suggest that GbtF be changed such that it not only provides 100% immunity to damage/damaging effects, but also to all control and/or movement impairing effects as well.
  9. My guild ran EC HM 2/10/12 and encountered a particularly vexing situation where Stormcaller would "twitch" off the tank and cleave both the dps standing opposite (mostly) the tank for 11-22K damage. This resulted in two instakills of the dps and a raid wipe. This only took about a second to occur. The tank never lost aggro on Stormcaller according to all of the Stormcaller team's target-of-target frames. This glitch occurred before and shortly after the first double-destruction. On the date of the raid, there were 16 instances of Denova running. Our raid was mostly BH geared with many raiders sporting Campaign gear and was comprised of many of our best players as this was a progression run for us. Has anyone else encountered this situation and/or successfully navigated it? Liira Jaade - Warrior Nation - The Shadowlands
  10. I and my raid have also experienced this same issue. I've also had it where I've successfully appeared on the new platform for a split-second then died; no attack from the Terror did damage according to the system messages.
