  1. I don't feel as though the sky is falling, nor do I foresee a 'doom doom prophesy' as you so elegantly put it. I'm simply observing the actions of former MMO developers and their way of implementing new content to their subscribers. Far from a 'gut feeling'. I'm very pleased with the game thus far, although it's missing many aspects of MMOs that I love, it's still an incredibly enjoyable game. I think you're stuck in the "oh no he didn't" mode that many posters on this board fall victim to.
  2. Isn't that what this board is basically for? A general discussion where people can complain and pontificate about unprovable speculation?
  3. First and foremost, I have no intention of cancelling my subscription, I have faith (wrongly, I'm sure) that more end-game content will eventually be given. I have a strong ill feeling that the additional 'end-game' content that many of us are begging for will ultimately come in the form of a $30 expansion pack. The idea of current subscribers paying for more content is repulsive to me. Hasn't the justification for paying a monthly subscription always been the promise of new content? Isn't that what our monthly subscriptions are supposedly funding? As much as I disagree with MMO 'expansion packs', I've always fell victim to the lure of buying them. Whether it was for Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, or many of the numerous MMOs I've played in my life...I always end up typing my credit card number into the submission box, and drooling for more. Why? It really is the fault of the consumer, not the company. They provide a product, and if you willingly partake, then you're not allowed to cry victim, you're not allowed to ***** and moan about being taken advantage of. Where the hell was I? Sorry, I'm in between my night-classes, wanting to be sitting at my desktop endlessly doing the PVP grind. Kind've ranting.
  4. Yeah, I can definitely agree with that. I suppose I'm looking at it from a nostalgic point-of-view. I see the scale and scope of Tatooine, and I wish we could establish player housing and guild headquarters I grew up on Ultima Online, so housing is generally a large aspect of what I look for in an MMO...even though it's a virtually dead gaming aspect nowadays.
  5. ...that more emphasis would have been put on certain planets? Sure, it's nice to visit so many planets in your questing experience to enjoy different scenery, but most of them are forgettable, boring, and even skippable at some points. Many planets could have literally been scrapped, and I wouldn't have minded a bit. I was thoroughly disappointed with Tatooine. I was so excited when I reached it, and found myself saying, "Wow, Star Wars Galaxy's Tatooine far exceeds this." I think you all will agree that quality content is better than quantity of content. At one point while I was playing I had a flashback to playing City of Heroes...static environments that just don't have much character. Oh well, enough of me boo-hooing. I love the game. Can't get enough. Excited for the expanded legacy system, and to see what content they release in the future. I just needed to get the disappointment off myself. Thanks for being my therapist, SWTOR forum.
  6. I believe the population issue is a giant problem. It's the main issue for me. The lack of interaction other players is a giant downer. I'm used to playing Ultima Online, which has a main city of Britiannia. Sure, the Fleets are similar to that, but it completely lacks interaction. I would absolutely LOVE to see mini games around the Fleet. Whether it me competitive mini games...like hologram chess...just mindless interactive entertainment for people to play together. There needs to be something... Back to the population. It saddens me when I'm on a planet, and it says there's 3 people on a planet. 3 people? Really? That's pathetic. I'm sure it would be a pretty large venture to combine servers, but at this point in time, it's a must. The sad thing is, I'm on one of the most populated servers (Iron Citadel), and it's still sometimes a ghost town. Too many servers. Combine them. Anyway, you might enjoy my little review on youtube:

  8. My name was Desto Falls. I use that name for all MMOs I was on Bloodfin. A first chose the profession of Teras Kasi, but then decided to drop it and go full-economy. I became a doctor and an image designer. Sat at space ports, and had lines of sometimes 30 people waiting for buffs. I enjoyed every aspect of that game, it's a shame they nerfed it into submission Oh well. I talk about Galaxies in one of my youtube videos, you might enjoy:

  12. See, I had a completely different first-week experience. I have no memory of any massive meltdowns...maybe I was just on a lucky server. I chose to be a doctor, a non-combat profession, and became one of the richest bastards on my server. I enjoyed the economics of the game, and the player associations at all the social structures that people who flock to. I really miss it.
  13. Thanks a lot, man. Really means a lot. The two MMOs that have always stuck with me and filled me with a huge sense of nostalgia are Star Wars Galaxies (pre-CU) and Ultima Online (pre-Trammel). You can massively judge my taste in gaming by those two choices Thanks again for watching!
  14. I absolutely LOVED pre-cu Galaxies. In my opinion no MMO will ever compare to it's complexity, freedom, and player-controlled economy. I actually just made a video where I mention that and uploaded it to my youtube channel. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/HelloGreedo
  15. You guys might enjoy my little Star Wars youtube project. Three videos so far. http://www.youtube.com/user/HelloGreedo
