  1. Yes, the blues that you buy from trainer go to purple (overkill, redoubt etc..) to the next tier (Veracity, anti-armor etc...) I did it on a pair of gloves; it is really not worth it though. The resource cost to RE the tier 1 purple can be huge if you dont get lucky (also the resource cost is the same as a normal green>blue>purple, purple for each attempt) and the finished product to make take 2x as many resources as a normal green>blue>purple for the final product.
  2. I would like to know if anyone has had any success with "overkill" since the so called "stealth nerf". I have Re'd every other prefix except "overkill" since 1.1. I tried approx 150 lvl 46 overkill pants without success, also many overkill gloves and bracers. I have "purpled" all other prefixes except overkill??? just wondering.
  3. I dont know what this means, I would guess it is some reference to World of Warcraft, anyhow, update ---- I gave up on the pants and am just going to stick with crited blue pants (after probably close to 200 attempts) and went for the lvl 47 chest piece. It took about 7 tries to proc the green chest (redoubt)to blue and only 6 to proc the blue to purple(anti-armor) - the purple wasnt the greatest but so be it, I dont think I will sink anymore time/mats into it - I will crit one then be done. So maybe it is actually just bad luck or maybe some recipes are bugged or some are harder than others??? I am guessing some recipes are harder or bugged than others. Really, I could have bought the iarmor off the GTN for much cheaper and saved my sanity and creds or more smartly just got drops and condemnations and had as good armor anyhow.
  4. Thats not the point, I dont care if it takes 1000 or 5000 times to proc, but when one day it takes 20ish to proc then the next day nothing procs at all with no explaination; it would be nice to know if something has changed so we dont think it is broken.
  5. Ya, I cant believe anymore that it is just bad luck, I just burned through another 2 stacks (99/stack and 4 pieces/attempt) and still no schematic. Definitely a stealth nerf or bug. Quick calculation that is about 150 tries with no luck + however many more that I was able to to with the leftovers (maybe another 10-15?). As for other crafting professions taking 400 or 500 to get a purple they must remember that is 1 slot, Armor is 6 slots to fill the slots, mind you augments and stuff have several too. Again, I want to stress I dont really care if there are changes, but they have to be known or we wonder if it is a bug or a broken schematic or...I wonder if it has to do with the "Thee are no missions defined for the crewskill Armormech" bug?????
  6. ya that I am sure has something to do with it, perhaps pants are most difficult? But even the other 40s I made were pretty easy... Again I dont really care I just wish there was some clue of some kind because after a while I start to think if the recipe is bugged? something changed, just some feedback would be nice I suppose.
  7. Something has changed for Armormech anyhow. Prepatch it was perhaps 5-8 attempts max from green to blue and perhaps 10-15 max to go from blue to purple, now I have been trying to get pants (lvl 46) from green-blue-purple - It took over 50 (I didnt count) to go from green to blue and now I have now gone through 4.5 stacks of the item I was paying attention to (99/stack + the bits and pieces I get back) at 4 pieces/try and have yet to get a purple recipe. I have 400 skill and max on a couple companions and well over half on the rest if that makes a difference. Perhaps armor was too easy before and it has been made more in line with other profs or perhaps I am having a terrible string of luck. I believe something has changed, and I dont really care if something has changed I just dont like when things change and we are unaware.
  8. I did it with 2 different items and iIm not really sure if it was worth it; to experiment I started with the blue schematic of TT-14B Crusader Gauntlents and Re'd them to the critical version (purple), it added 1 stat and added more rating, from there I RE'd those to the Tempest version (superior), again it added 1 more stat however the armor rating never changed. I did this again thinking if it added 1 stat each time my final version of the Med-Tech Power armor would be great, I RE'd the blue recipe (4 stats) to Redoubt (purple) and it had 5 stats, I then RE'd that and ended up with the Exactitude (superior) version. That version ended up with 6 stats but again the armor rating did not change. Not really sure if it worth it, I suppose a crit would be pretty great but it cost me a hell of a lot of rares to get there. Oh, and it takes double the rares for the Superior version, 8 promethium is pretty crazy considering they sell for around 15k on my server.
  9. This is the exact problem. I also dont mind the RE "game", if it costs millions so be it, that is the game; it is the final result that is the problem.
  10. Above is pretty much correct. I am lvl 43 and have never been in a group, instance, PVP or Flashpoint and have just arrived on Belsavis - lvl 42-44 I think. I have done every solo quest I have found and most bonus quests (I didnt finish a couple by accident).
  11. no, all my lvl 23 and below purples i am selling for less than 3k, lvl 30+ purple chest for 8k and 30+ purple others is around 3k. ill try listing more greens but I have yet to sell any of it. 1 helmet is all I have sold.
  12. I tend to agree with the above posts. I have 340+ in armor and nothing sells except for low level purples. The problem is to aquire the resourses to make 1 item it costs me much more than is worth and on top of that I cant advance level if I keep making low level items. I wouldnt mind making those though, but to find the rares to make them is far too expensive to make it worthwhile. Green stuff doesnt sell, Blue stuff is hit and miss, and I have yet to sell a purple above lvl 23 (I have lvl 25-39 mix of chests, helmets, legs, gloves and boots all purple on the GTN and have yet to sell 1. I am asking about 8k for purple chests, 3k for gloves). My prices are not high, in fact at those prices it is a major loss and I still have not sold 1 (Also I am on a "full" server so the population shoud be there). Drops and quest rewards are nearly just as good, why would anyone buy anything crafted.
  13. At least in Armortech I have RE many blue schematics into purple ones. They seem to be my best sellers as well.
