  1. On the contrary, I think it'd be better to have him alive so we can end his storyline in a satisfactory way instead of "He went bat***** crazy and was killed by 4 guys". That just isn't very heroic or logical and doesn't fit his character.

On the contrary. Revan was always a Well Intentioned Extremist. See the Mandalorian Wars. He also was "brainwashed and crazy" by the Emperor before, and if Kreia is right, his entire campaign as Darth Revan also falls very firmly under the Well Intentioned Extremist category. His plan to wipe out the Empire and the Sith (while completely unrealistic) fits his character very well. After all he has already shown several times that he is willing to do extreme and downright evil things to accomplish something he perceives to be a good outcome.

After all, when defeated on the Empire flashpoint "The Foundry" he disappears in a flash of light which could be due to him (potentially) using Fold Space or Teleport.

Considering that he quotes Malaks dying words, it is very heavily implied he died in that force explosion.

  2. Every single character is a mary sue. The Consular and Agent are just the only ones who do useful things with their sue-tude.

Sorry, I should've clarified. I meant to say that the Consular is a god mode sue. Chosen one? Check. Learns a super special secret technique nobody else knows? Check. Able to recruit a chaotic evil race of lunatics for the Republic just like that? Check. Roots out a virtually undetectable sleeper agent network all on his own, wins the whole *********** war AND has several star systems under his direct control? Check, check and check.

Face it. The Consular is by far the most blatantly overpowered character of this game. Only the Inquisitor has comparable power, and atleast he's funny.

  3. Your ranged dps in heavy armor that can heal, suck it up.

That has no escape, only one combat CC, no interrupts and mediocre healing (or extremely terrible healing when not specced Bodyguard), as well as near to no instant DMG abilities. You also missed an apostrophe.

  4. I very much liked the SW story, especially the first act. Got a bit meh during the second act but got better with act 3.

Also enjoyed the BH story, since the BH has by far the most entertaining comps. What I don't understand are people that complain about the repetitiveness of BH quests (go to planet, find target, kill target, collect bounty, repeat), since thats kinda all there is to bounty hunting...you get a contract, find your target and deal with it and get your money when you're done. Whoever didn't see that coming must be pretty stupid (no offense intended).

Trooper storyline is okay, nothing special though.

JK story is even more cliched than the other storylines, in addition to being kinda boring with a boring male VA.

And from what I've seen so far from the IA storyline I gotta say it's quite nice.

  5. Because there isn't any discontent. They are just people who are conservatively purist lore heads who don't want anything to challenge or change their idea of lore. When in truth, nothing in Lore says it can't happen. Hell there is even Purebloods in the game now that are in the Jedi Order

From what you're saying I guess you never really got into the SW lore. That's not really a problem, but please don't go around saying everything about those changes is alright, cuase it isn't

Lord Parvis (the Sith Pureblood you meet as a jedi knight on tatooine) and Lord Scourge (who joins the Knight later on in the game)

Praven is the only one. And as I already said, he was a special case already. And Scourge repeatedly states that he is not a friend of the Republic or Empire anymore. He's a Sith and only helped you because he wanted to save his own hide.

But it's senseless to argue here, since BioWare is going to whatever the hell they want anyway. And if that means destroying SW lore, then so be it.

  6. again where in the Lore does it say that Purebloods and Chiss Cannot be apart of the Republic or Mirialans can't be apart of the Empire?

Read a bit about the chiss. Then tell me chiss on Rep side make any sense. And Purebloods are the elite of the Empire, most of them force sensitive and sent to the acadamies. The dark side is bred into their bones. The only known Pureblood to become a Jedi (padawan) is Praven, and he already was an outsider in his own society for the way he thought and acted.

  7. It's a game. Let's have some fun with it and forget about stupid lore

    How about no.

Since when does an mmo follow lore for the love of god shut up forum idiots

I expected a move like that from Blizzard, since it's common knowledge that Blizz doesn't give a rats *** about lore anymore. But BioWare? That's just sad. (Btw, BioWare said that lore and proper storytelling would play a pretty big role in SWTOR, but it seems they forgot about that...)

  8. You are not the IP and Lore police, Lucas Arts is.

If Lucas Arts approves it, that's good enough for me, being as they own the IP, the lore trademarks and they decide what is/is-not part of the lore and the IP

So you are okay with LA destroying their own established lore or letting others do so?

I really can't grep that people are upset about species unlocks from the Legacy system.

    Just... wow...

What's so hard to understand about people that care(d) about SW lore being upset about the way BioWare tries to rape said lore?

  9.

I hate when players say this. You killed Revan and all you can say is "BUT BUT WHAT ABOUT SATELE! WE SHOULD GET TO KILL HER!"

Revan>Satele Shan. Stop with the complaining

The point that the Empire systematically loses every figurehead they have while the Republic doesn't (and don't start with Janarus, afaik no Rep Class ever gets to actually see him, and all we really hear from him is through one puny letter on Coruscant) still stands. And Revan is out for his own vision of wiping out the entire population of the Empire, basically trying to finish what was started after the Sith Empire lost the GHW. He is NOT a figurehead of the Republic anymore, just a crazy old genocidal man.

You just keep trying to justify your overinflated sense of kill-entitlement. You killed one of the most powerful force users to ever live, we killed one Moff. We BOTH killed Malgus.

And who would that be? Revan? That supposed to be a joke? He might've been powerful, but he was far from being anywhere near the top. Revan is far too overrated.

  10. What a joke. I really hoped BioWare would stay true to their concept of a story driven MMORPG in which lore is atleast partially respected and important, and now we get Jedi Purebloods and Chiss Smugglers working for the Republic...what a fucking joke...

I would have ZERO problem with these changes if Sith Purebloods were allowed to be played as Bounty Hunters or Imperial Agents and Chiss were allowed to be played as Sith Warriors and Sith Inquisitors.

Then it seems you aren't much a lore junky afterall.

  11. ya, after playing the ME3 demo, for all the Reapers claim to be and how they claim to have done it so many times they don't seem very efficient at wiping out a planet's life and it sure takes a lot of them...

That's prolly because they never actually had to do anything to wipe out the galaxy. As explained in ME1 the Reapers always came in through the Citadel, wiped out the leaders and then had their fun killing of the rest of the population without any difficulties whatsoever.

Guess What - They dont even have enough to launch a reasonable attack on Earth.

Yeah, thats why Earth is basically a burning ruin by the time you flee the planet, which is roughly an hour or two after they launched their attack.

Reapes have awesome weapons - Except they decide to just crawl along the ground rather than nuke planets from orbit which would be extremely effective if your trying to commit galactic genocide.

They are trying to harvest the humans/other races, so a complete annihalation isn't their goal anyway. Also, they don't have weapons that are actually useful for orbital fire. Nor do most of the other star ships in ME, come to think of it.

Reapers have awesome intelligence - Hows that working for you Harbringer when you literally brought Shepard to the Project so he can stop it. Pro-stupid right there, nevermind the complete incompetence displayed by Soverign AND Harbringer.

Hackett sent Shepard and Kenson led him to the artifact, not Harbinger. Harbinger simply took advantage of the fact that Shepard came to The Project. Also, Sovereign was not only very competent, he very nearly activated the relay in the Citadel, which in turn would've been the end of our story right there. He only failed when his puppet Saren failed due to his weakness and inability to defeat Shep, and he only died because he wasn't prepared for the backlash of Saren's (second) death which stripped his shields and weakened him heavily.

Harbinger doesn't really do anything at all.

Anyway, to stay on topic, SW is prolly > ME in terms of tech and the likes.

In the end, WH40k tops them all anyway :>
