This is untrue. They love farming lowbies more than another pre-made where they might lose.
Either way, if your copying other games mechanics, why wouldn't you copy their solutions that fixed this issue from both perspectives 5 years ago.
Horrible input lag.
Groups of high levels queue together. It's one sided either you win the coin toss and get on the winners or the losers.
Huttball comes down to your class abilities. i.e. having a stun or not, having an AOE knockback or not.
