  1. The major reason behind the outrage to happen is because people are sick and tired of the gambling like pratices and manipulative tactics companies like EA have been implementing non stop at their games, the lootboxes that EA tried to pull off in BF2 is only the breaking point of all that nonesense that has permeated this industry for more then a decade now. The backlash had backup of multiple subreddits and brought attention of legal systems in europe and america (as my recent edit shows) so I'm gonna call your opinion on this for what it is, you don't understand what is going on. I'm not just insisting on you just to be an ***, I doing this so you, and anyone thinking like you, who are simply shruging this off as a ''storm in a teacup'' realise this is will most likely have a bigger ramification, and people need to start realising this might be the chance we needed to make some actual change in the industry, peraphs even here in SWTOR. However I can only hope you and anyone else who don't see that way to at least understand the situation and make others that care and love Star Wars and games to be aware that there is a chance for change now.
  2. Then you clearly don't understand what the outrage was about.
  3. The problem with that it's because this menssage is a PR stunt, it was sent via twitter a day before the game was launched in hopes they would hold the hemorrage before the game wen't officialy released, they are desperate due to serious loses they've got in their pre-order, hell they had to disable their refund button and their support got overloaded due to the outrage. Don't buy into this ********, this article backs up my point.
  4. EAmprie, sorry, should've elaborate there
  5. Do you even understand what the outrage was about ?
  6. Yup...totaly a tempest in a teapot...
  7. I came back after been away for years, (4 years iirc) The game is not that bad but... The lack of a big community and microtransactions is what mostly **** it up and keep people away mostly, some sections of it are undoable in the original content due to the lack of players although the recent server merges might counter that, I doubt it). Don't even get me started on the PRE-HISTORIC support...not to mention the ****** free-to-play model is the most stupid and lack luster of all, you stop subscribing you lose even access to your guild back ***... And well, the EA logo just ****s with anything good realy so there`s that.
  8. But thats the exact point... they are scared and backpedaling, for them to do the current changes is a a TEMPORALY victory for the community, but as I stated and linked, they are planning to bring it back and still exploit players progression rather then hear the community demands. And yes, evry game who has in game purchases which influence the actual gameplay and balance apart from cosmetics don't deserve to have their players, hence why the community isn't backing down from this fight yet, it is worth the discussion here too, SPECIALY considering we are in a game who is also suffering from these pratices.
  9. Best we can do is hope and keep calling them out on their ********, if people just give up now we gonna lose evrything it was accomplished so far with this backlash.
  10. I'd like to take the moment since people are already bringing up the current events with Battlefront 2 to make a humble request to the SWTOR community: As most of you must be aware, after the massive downvote over a reply from the community staff at the official BF 2 Reddit, the situation escalated to the point where EA had to make a couple of steps back in their microtransactions and lootboxes system in the game, the latests being a temporaly removal of said system. This is a small but temporaly victory as and the signs are already showing. This ain't the time to call victory, we still need to keep pushing them until they make balantly clear what the changes wont influence progress and are only cosmetic, even then I'm still one to belive they NEED to fail in their sales, they NEED to be made a example of. Some of you are already playing the game to your heart's content, but you all falling into a trap and this will backfire on you later down the line, understand that regardless of your emotional condition or your position in all this, you only contributing o keep greedy and amoral scumbags on the top who will keep exploiting you and those around you until there is nothing left. I know it's not a easy request to make but please do NOT give EA any more of your money, if those changes that recently happen is any indication, we can also do the same for SWTOR, the situation with the APEC players is a clear indication of where this game is heading, I'm more then inclined to belive they've made the same move they did with BF2 by making the ''Outrage Outdated'' and if we keep accepting this we might see this game gone and all will be for nought. Star Wars has a GLOBAL following and as a brazillian myself (guess the BR make this ballantly clear heh) I am doing what I can to provide awareness on the situation and making sure this issue is heard for those who like me enjoy gamming, the results are clear Do not let the Empire Strike back and win this war. EDIT: Belgium and Hawaii confirming Battlefront 2 indeed has gambling.
  11. Have to agree with this, you don't have the right to censor people for stuff that you don't like or think it's inapropriate for your children, if you feel this way, it might be better for you to not allow them to play the game in the first place.
  12. What realy kills it for me, is that they decided to make a single story to multiple classes that in the end only 4 of those, the Jedi and the Sith. Having a Smuggler, Trooper, Agent or Bounty Hunter fighting a being like the Emepror and winning is a ridicules notion to me. KOTFE and KOTET has enough going on in it to make up for a plural sense in how the story and outcomes can go, the trooper for example had evrything set for it to work: A new Havoc Squad you could lead to do top missions to sabotage the Star Fortresses with the Agent. The Smuggler finding resoursces with the Bounty Hunter and dealing with the Hutt Cartel to finance the alliance. The Jedi and the Sith as Leaders of the Alliance keeping things together until they could deal with the Eternal Empire issue, which could lead to the most powerfull storyline of all. All those classes that you would not fill the role could be replaced as the main companions of those characters or, as I was imagining being a way more compeling and intriguing feauture, your own characters filling those roles through the use of your Legacy system allowing for a more interesting and unique expirience for each player. But alas we got something safer and less ambitious that ultimatly did not bear enough fruit for what this game direly needs...
  13. Seems promising, if possible keep us update here in the next week or two, hopefully things will improve from here.
  14. Since I couldn't find anything related yet, I wanted to start this discussion already and see if there was any significant changes in the connectivity issues in your end ?
