Yes I think your spaceship should be able to come to you, its not as if its compulsory to land at spaceports in the movies which is what the game is based on. Was watching Star wars 1 and 2 the other day and although sometimes the ships go to spaceports, other times when they choose they land in jungles and deserts and woods, so the only reason I see for this is trying to pad the game out with neddless delays. Just my opinion OFC as if that matters.

It has nothing to do with fear, that's just a presumption on your part. I am not scared of using them, my guild and I do in WoW, (yes I play both games). But I watched WoW jerks take a perfectly good tool and turn it into a large baseball bat to beat others around the head with. You can talk all you like about how it's used to analyze this and that and all the rest of it, and in a guild environment it is used in that way. Outside of guilds or friends groups it is invariably used by willy wavers who hit the best dps on one or two mobs, or they totally ourtgear the level of instance they are fighting in, and spam the group with their superhuman prowes and little willie. Often then picking on someone else who didn't do so well on the mobs and calling them out or trying to vote kick or whatever. They create bad feeling in small groups of players which then often degenerates into a slagging match and people leaving, often the innocent parties who then have to suffer a deserter debuff for 30 minutes, while the crapppy player goes straight back into another dungeon. I am not scared you silly presumptious person I am annoyed at jerks who more often than not are the first to wave their willies in PUGS. You want recount style meters? Fine, I don't know if its at all possible, but make it so they only work in a group of more than 75% guildies and you have my blessing. Outside of a guild environment they should never be used as the abuse factor is too great.

Ok I can fairly often top the dps meter in WoW, although less often now, as I spend much more time in SWTOR and my gear is slowly falling beind others in my guild. I know this because I had to follow the crowd to raid and get the meters. But I am using a frost DK, a glass cannon but with a rotation based mainly on just 4 spells Used over and over that gives high dps. Now I am 65 and I wanted to go on raids with my guild and would love to with my hunter or my warlock or Pally but I can't because I cannot get good DPS out of them so I boringly use my DK over and over. Now if there was no meters in WoW I could use them and if my dps was a little lower so be it. Now I hear the shouts of baddie because I would be acused of being a poor player. Well yes to the young player who has tremendously quick responses, no arthritic twinges in their fingers that can cause them to stumble on the keyboard and their young brain taking in information and processing it ten times faster than I can, I suppose I could be called a poor player. Not because I am a bad player, or stupid, or thick or any other insulting description. It is simply because I am getting old but I like MMOs and I pay my money to play them. Now I am sorry if you having your recount meter tells you I am not so good as you think I should be, and you don't want to play in a group with me, it tells me more about you really than I want to know. Perhaps if people were more tolerant of others limitations with the meters then less people would be against their use. But people are often not tolerant and since I have been playing SWTOR it has been like a breath of fresh air without them and personally I hope they never come. Don't give in BW/EA keep the game unsullied.

The only needed addon or adjustable change is the UI. The game has gone through beta and has now been out for getting close to a month without the dam things. The only thing we have is the LFG, and most people seem to manage even with out that by asking in general for groups. Guilds seem to be managing instances just fine and we have no GS no healbot no recount.skada....add nauseum. The game is fine without and we are all learning to play without these babies comforters. If you want to play a game with a plethora of addons stop trying to ruin SWTOR by constantly whining for them and go play WoW or add on heaven as it should be known. Please Bioware/EA don't give way on this. We all know the elitism and unfairness of use that addons no matter how well intentioned are put to by many of the jerks in the game. We have all been there when willy wavers spam the group with the one boss they managed to beat everyone elses dps on. We have seen insistence on top level players, well geared, to run raids 3 levels and more lower and the usual meet me in the centre of blah blah for inspection. Thes are games, they are supposed to be enjoyable. If your idea of enjoyment is to brag about how wonderful you were on that last boss. then criticize the lower dpser because he has been taking reponsibility for keeping the mobs off the clothies, or criticize the healer because you went out of LOS while trying to top the group, and all that rotton crap that goes hand in hand with gear score and recount meters, then I hope I never group with you. BW/EA we really don't need them we have been playing without them. let us carry on.

Your totally wrong about Eve, it states it will be down for 1 hour to cover unforseen, but rarely goes over 10 minutes. If you are going to quote other games do it from experience not from reading words. While on the subject of Eve. even if they ever do use the full 1 hour per day it would still equate to 7 hours in a 7 day period spread. not a concentrated 8 hours that EA BW use even if they did manage only 1 maintainance period a week. So use facts to back up your arguments not ignorance.

Oh well while it was down for maintainance 4th time in the last 7 days. I, luckily enough got time off to play The Secret World Beta. Its shaping up to be something quite horrific and quite entertaining. It is due for release in April, so Bioware I think you need to get this maintainance problem sorted out on the EU servers fairly quickly as it won't just be the other quality existing MMOS you will have to compete with, but the up and coming new ones too. Its not only the poor choice of eu maintainance times it is also now the amount of those times that are getting very annoying. Please don't let a good game fall apart. Help me obi one your our only hope.

Many childish people practice taking small sections of post out of context of the complete post to devalue a persons argument, while trying to counter everything that they feel is wrong with the other persons post. They also do not read the post they are commenting on, or its context, and they make assumptions about another persons knowlege of a subject denigrating them while being totally uniformed themselves. This practice is to show all others following a post that they are extremely clever, at least in their own little world I will not take your post and itemise it to prove my points, as I said that is mere childishness and a practice carried out by most common forum trolls, I will just mention your most glaring error. I did not say the EU servers should go down at midnight GMT, I actually stated 24:00 CST, which would be after most American people were retiring for the night and it would cause a much smaller impact on the EU daytime market. This misread by you, in your hurry to prove how rightious you are, also of course affects your opinon of when I think prime time is. I may have called myself an Old Fogie but at least I was educated correctly and I know full well what prime time is. I also know a lot more about programming code than you think I do. Actally she only mentioned 2 of the countries as did I and my suggestion would in fact meet the requirements you stated in your reply. I get the feeling that it is you talking of nationality, my suggestion was that their 2 biggest markets EU and US are not being balanced to the lowest number of people being inconveinienced ,so I fail to see why you had to comment in such a way. Unless of course you felt that I or the poster who followed me were biased against Americans, which it seems you interpreted incorrectly.

Wrong, it is not off peak. Off peak is a term applied to a period of time to denote when there is not a fairly large audience participation. More and more of us old fogies, who are young pensioners, are getting into the games market, and for us, EU prime time is this stupid time that BW/EA are using as their best time to maintain the servers. This presumption that only children and youngish adults are the ones that should be catered to is very irritating. It costs me the same amount of cash each month as it does young people, so why should I not receive that same amount of available uptime as them. I appreciate that major patches and expansions will nesecitate longish downtimes, but bug fix patches do not need such a huge amount of downtime unless the client your working on has substandard code. Judging by the amount of claimed dev money spent on this game the code should be very streamlined and needing the lowest amount of downtime of all MMO's right from the get go. Sadly this isn't happening. I see no reason why this extended downtime cannot start at 24:00 CST and finish around 06:00-07:00 CST at the worst so by EU lunchtime it will be all over. This would cause only an hour or two disruption to the American market prime time while only interfering with EU prime time (Day Time) by about 2-3 hours. Dev answer please.

Yes soon as you activate the gun move away from it, make sure you kill the normal mobs nearby first, then the waves will come to where you are. Then it completes correctly.

I sincerely hope they don't take the op's advice too literally because one thing that kills a game faster than anything is queuing for long periods. Typical problems when your guild are on one server so you cannot go off and play on another when you get DC'd in the middle of a Flashpoint. Our guild is in Frostclaw and we are always at full status in the eu evenings. I am writing this now because I got DC'd in the middle of a storyline quest for my class on Tattoine, I log back in and have to suffer a 25 minute delay. These sort of delays are as bad for the game as are empty servers. I really want to see SWTOR succeed and I know BW have to walk a tightrope to get this correct but I think at this time its not working, especially when they used that staggered release to avoid this sort of problem. In fact they said as much on their website today.

Hi guys and gals, Just got up and ablouted. Went to login and got the :( from the maintainence notice then saw all my Novemberite tribe on here. Now you may or may not be thinking why have I only just woken, well I am retired and was playing til 04:00. run up a Jedi Consular Shadow to level 12. Went in to the Esseles flashpoint with guildies had a whale of a time got a great light saber and some cool gear. The game was smooth and trouble free and I see thankfully, for all those that need a grace period they are giving 2 days. So its good to know they finally do listen. I am on the Frostclaw server and name is Galadriell. Oh I took a few minutes before sleeping to go into the Decemberites channel and gave them my good wishes and sympathy they were still waiting, They reckoned it was the most Civil post they heard on there so perhaps if you have time go and give them a few well wishes I know the decent peeps there would be grateful. And its snowing like crazy here in the North of England

This isnt a troll from someone who got in with the November group, I just wanted to wish you good luck tomorrow when you do get in, and to let you know that once you do the servers, even during peak thursday evening, in the EU area were working fine so when you do get in you will hopefully have a smooth ride. I do feel for you I know I was dissapointed but good luck to you all later today when the surf starts rolling again.
