  1. Doesn't mattter. SWTOR cannot compete with Elder Scrolls Online at this point for pvp. Many experienced pvpers i know already quit this game altogether. How many of you will still be playing SWTOR even after ESO comes out? I doubt we'll have any.
  2. pve is easy because you don't have to worry about DCDs or tauntung right off cooldown all the time. I'm only speaking for PVP. DPS rotation alone is not hard. It"s when you have to compete with easy ACs such as smash juggernauts or dps vanguards you realize how difficult it is to match their dps and protection points. You have to work twice as hard to be comparable to them.
  3. except that this spec already demands too much mental concentration to be played optimally. we have taunts guardian leap that requires us to switch to appropriate targets while struggling with this broken tab targeting. i wish they either simplify our asymmetric rotation or give us an aura ability that gives damage reduction bonus to every party member fighting near us. we really need better group utility skills to be accepted into ranked teams. Right now tab targeting is absolutely horrible in this game.
  4. So where are all the serious pvpers? What is everyone playing? I am just playing this game casually to kill time until Elder Scrolls comes out. I want to start everything anew and become a much more formidable pvper in that one. If i hadn't stopped playing for a year and didn't get kicked outta my pvp guild(I called my pervert GM's best friend moron and got kicked out right away) I would've been a better team player. But catching up after 1 year of absence seems impossible. What do you guys play instead? Are you guys waiting for other new MMOs too?

    I just don't like autocrit specs having advantages over non autocrit specs. Also most people don't stack crits anymore. Why do we have crit rating in the first place if nobody would use them anymore? It is totally stupid.

    Did I specifically mention snipers and marauders in this thread? Snipers and marauders are fine. They will do absolutely fine without crit chance buff for most of their specs. I am more concerned about other unpopular, underpowered specs most of you guys refuse to play.
  8. Protecting(guardian leaping, taunting, switching target to the dps attacking my healer) is extremely attention intensive. I have to sacrifice some of my dps(200 damage per second on average) to protect(doesn't mean switching to soresu and offtanking) my healer like a tank when playing as a vigilance guardian. Your dps would still be considered decent in the eyes of ordinary players, but you cannot dps at your full potential. It literally makes your eyes and head hurt from managing all those CDs. I've been ignoring gen chat a lot lately too. It is easier to protect healers while playing as other specs that have easy rotation such as Pyro PTs or smash juggernauts. But for specs with complicated rotation, peeling and taunting is extremely difficult. Dpsing and tanking at the same time is not something an inexperienced player can learn and do right away. You must be very experienced and comfortable enough to devote your attention to protecting somebody else while you still have to manage your dps and your own DCDs as well.

    Instead of buffing operative dps crit chance only, why not bring crit chance back altogether? It's not just operatives who need crits, other classes need it too. If we all had more crit chance, smashtard spec won't be as popular and as broken as it is right now. Right now, crit chance is next to useless for most classes and specs.

Everytime, Bioware tries to listen to the community feedbacks and try to buff UNPOPULAR, UNDERPOWERED specs, you guys cry river of tears How OP the buffs are while you hypocrites are playing FOTM classes 5 year old kids can play.   11. Except that dot proccing can be easily cleansed. Then you are fu*ked. Master Strike is our main damage ability, if it gets shut down your damage will plummet to the ground. Instead, It would be better to make master strike proc chance incremental (33%-66%-100%) like someone suggested before. Making this spec relying on dots too much will ruin this spec in pvp just as Watchman spec is useless in ranked pvp. Unless Bioware is gonna give us dot protection like they did to lethality spec, this spec should stay away from relying too much on dots.

  13. i use sweep as a filler when waiting for other main attack abilities CDs. I also use it against operatives' dodge ability when i have no other force attacks to use. I'd gladly sacrifice my AOE damage if it would boost up my single target damage however.
  14. So? they shouldn't pop their DCDs then. They should disengage, go stealth or whatever to avoid fighting vigilance guardians, just as we are forced to whenever a smash monkey is on our tail. Whenever Vigilance guardians attack with overhead slash on a foe with any defensive cooldown on(whether the attack is dodged, deflected, parried whatever), an energy debuff is applied. It would last about x seconds(i would say 6 but whatever works) and your energy cannot regenerate(not even with abilities like adrenaline probe) for the duration. But if you continue to attack/heal(any abilities other than regular attacks) while this debuff is applied, you will lose 33%-66%-100% of your energy pool. So that they cannot effectively fight/heal while their DCDS are on. This would make vigilance spec more useful against healers and marauders(cloak of pain). If this sounds too OP, you could make it so that all healing and damage output is decreased by 50% while the debuff is on. Or you could restrict the DCDs affected only to Sabre Ward, Deflection, Evasion. Since these DCDs are the only ones capable of deflecting, dodging, parrying the Overhead Slash completely. And they are least likely to affect sorcs and commandos. Strongest DCDs last for 12 seconds at most(except marauders). You can land only one overhead slash in that window. So this energy debuff would only be temporary as long as they are smart enough to restrain themselves from attacking/healing.
  15. How about modifying our gather strength talents to enable us to drain our enemy's resources such as focus, ammo, energy, heat whenever our damage is mitigated with their DCDs. If our overhead slashes are as strong as the lore says, wouldn't blocking and parrying such powerful blows make our foes exhausted over long fights?
  16. lol I wonder why they named the middle Juggernaut tree "Vengeance". LMFAO i mean you can't have your vengeance when you are dead right? Our dps is mediocre and our suvivability is horrible in AOE heavy pvp environments. Who knows? Bioware might give us an ability to magically resurrect ourselves as skeleton warriors to haunt our killers.
  17. HAHAHA!Do you really think we would try to knockback a vanguard with hold the line/hydraulic override on? Knockback is only an option, if knockback doesn't work you should stun him instead. The fact is that flamethrower is easily interruptible just as master strike is easily interruptible. Smash, however, cannot be interrupted only delayed. Stop stating the obvious will ya? no competent commandos will stand still while melees are jumping on him. Vigilance spec has a lot of problem. Low burst damage, low survivability, low mobility, no group utility whatsoever the list goes on and on. We are not particularly good against any spec. I mean what spec you can consistently defeat with ease no matter how skilled your opponent is? lightning sorc? I can't think of anything else. It's sad really.

I should delete my smash monkeys and lvl my vigilance guardian toons to lvl 55!" after 2.5......... Bioware: "You have to sacrifice 2 additional talents points to get this small buff called Debilitate which roots your target while you are channeling your master strike" Vigilance Guardians: "Go fu*k yourselves Bioware!" Other jealous no-life trolls:.......................................................(silence) I spit on you all
  19. Oh please, I've lvled every Advanced Class to lvl 55 except shadows/assassins. By playing underpowered, underappreciated classes such as vigilance guardian, gunnery commando most of the time, i know fully well how broken smash spec is. I played as a smash juggernaut before. It was stupidly easy to put out insane dps while AOE/Single target taunting everyone like a potty mouthed 8 year old kid. As long as you are protected by a competent healer you can decimate your enemies while still putting out great protection numbers. But again i've seen a fair amound of idiots too whose dps is worse than any other decent single target dps players. Also Don't compare 3 stack flamethrower to smashes, you are supposed to stun/knockback/mezz whatever you can to deny him from spitting fires at you. Once you interrupt his flamethrower it's on CD for 18 secs. Smashes ,however, can and will be used again as soon as stun/knockback runs out and still inflict its maximum damage. It cannot be interrupted whatsoever and you are forced to pop defensive CDs early. So ya smash is the most broken AOE burst in this history of all MMOs.
  20. Maybe you should try playing sents or shadows without any 30%DR. See how it goes for you. hmm? And try to study shadow talent tree hard to see what makes it different from guardian tree. They have a tanking tree too. All problems originate from AOE burst smashes.
  21. As i said it's totally pointless to discuss this with any of you. Go play as a vig guardian or a scrapper scoundrel against a team that has at least 3 smashers in their reg or 2 in an arena team while your team has no healer or tank. Good Luck.
  22. How can you not get clustered together when you have too many smash monkeys running around you? There is literally no ground to step on where fighting is happening. What are we supposed to? fu*k off and wait it out until the match is over? There is literally no way other than forcing your healer and tank to babysit you. You are a fu*king liabiliity!. I am done with this discussion. It's pointless to discuss it with people who refuse to recognize what is wrong with the smash spec. No matter what i say, you are always going to find a way to defend why "Smash spec is not broken". You will never believe what other guys say, because you don't want to believe it. If you guys knew, this thread would've died a long time ago.
  23. The problem is they have considerable single target burst that not only screws his target but screws every melee classes around his target. That's why this class is broken. No AOE attacks in any other mmos hit as hard as smashes in this game. Melee classes can't focus target a fu*king sh*t without eating those smashes. If you are a ranged dps you can at least try to kite them. (I have yet to learn how to kite a smash marauder as a dps commando..... enlighten me if you can) If you are a melee you have no other fu*king choice but to eat them. Do you guys get it? In a game where focus firing is absolutely necessary to kill a target through guarding and healing, you are discouraged from focus firing with auto-crit Killing Blows grade AOE smashes every 12 seconds. That's what's broken about this spec.
  24. 30% is NOT HIGH AT ALL. You have to remember that melee classes are the most vulnerable classes to AOE heavy specs. We are forced to eat their "Fu*k You" puddles to inflict damage on them. And by fu*king design, smash monkeys are extremely popular. If there are many of them, avoiding their smashes is impossible. ok so we can't focus fire anything, we can't attack AOE specs directly, what the fu*k can we do then? cheerleading for you? massage your tired fingers? go somewhere and wait our a**es out until the match is over? There is literally not a fu*king thing you can do. That's why most melee classes have 30% AOE damage reduction. Hell even with 30% DR, you have to avoid them unless it's absolutely necesary to fight them. Now for us and scrappers, we don't even have such protection. So we are forced to eat up most of their smashes when we have no choice. If you don't have a tank or a healer to support you in an arena match, don't queue until you can find a competent healer and a tank to babysit you. Even then, you are a liability to them.
  25. Only counter for smashtards; If you are a melee class and don't have 30% AOE dmg reduction, go 1vs1 a dps who is far far away from the smasher. If you see too many smash monkeys and you cannot avoid their "Fu*k you puddles", you are a fu*ktard to indulge their smashfest. Rage quit and don't queue until you can make a perfect premade with a healer and a tank who can switch guard on you. Now you see why premades are necessary? Problem Solved!
