  1. In beta there was an option to compare equip for you and your companion in the tooltips. Check the options. I'm sure it's still there.
  2. You should get in touch with EA dude! You bought it on Origin. Not here. Hopefully they can fix your issues.
  3. He has a point. This game was never marketed as such and to just now realize it doesn't focus on PvP is a little silly. I'm sure they will continue to add content, make changes, and fix stuff. No need to get your panties in a bind just yet.
  4. Ditto. Or at the very least 10-49 and 50 brackets.
  5. I heard some companies were going to be emailing access codes out but I'm not positive on which. Someone had said GameStop might because they are on backorder. Other than that there isn't a way to get in until you get your hands on that code.
  6. Awww poor baby. In all seriousness though, it's been quite a ride so far. I'm glad I get to climb aboard and continue the journey with this awesome game. Thanks for all your hard work. I hope the coffee was good during crunch time.
  7. This is NOT launch day. Launch day is the 20th of December, 2011. Wait seven days, then you can complain if things are indeed as catastrophic as you say they are.
  8. Bold assumptions. I can't speak for anyone else but I play games approximately 40 hours a week. Some recreational time, most not. My job depends on it, but it's also been my hobby for 20 years. I'm humbled that I have a career in the field I grew up dreaming of being in. I also have girlfriend of 3 1/2 years and we work hard to provide for ourselves and dream of one day having a family. That won't stop me from playing games as much as I do. It's my job. It really bugs me to see people post comments like "get a life" or "get a job" or "get a girlfriend" towards others whom the poster knows nothing about. Cheers.
  9. Meaning you were just a "new player perspective" and/or stress tester like myself on the weekends. Waves are not what got us into the beta "late". We were lucky to get in at all.
  10. Hahaha. The very same thing has been happening to me all day. Stop blowing up my phone if you aren't BioWare!
  11. That is so true. You can please the masses but you can't please the very loud dissenters. They will post until they get in the game, regardless of what BioWare tells them. Plus, they'd freak out even harder if what BioWare told them ended up to be untrue. I mean, they've already taken non specific information given out by BioWare and tried to spin it into 100% factual basis for all arguments against anything BioWare does. I feel like I'm watching Bill O'Reilly clips...
  12. There was absolutely no indication that it wouldn't be a staggered system. In fact, all logic pointed to it being just that. "May be up to five days" is, from a common sense standpoint, an indication that it would be staggered over those five days and anywhere from one-five days would be possible, dependent on when you entered the pre-order code on the website. The thousands in the game now are hardly a lucky "few" and if you are really that worried about server firsts you would have pre-ordered and registered your code the first hour (maybe even minutes) of it being announced. The people possibly, note not definitely, getting to 50 before you definitely aren't scrubs. It seems like you need to go to a mirror, punch yourself in the face, and ask yourself why you didn't enter your code before all the "scrubs" because then you might realize your post is just another mindless rant based yet again on possibility and entitlement, not fact.
  13. Nothing surprising about that at all. You wouldn't be first in line.
  14. Of course they won't respond because your accusations are false. Nor will any other federal organization as they haven't violate the terms of service you agreed to in creation of your account. They clearly stated that to secure your early access you had to enter your pre-order code and link it to your account. It was everywhere. Emails, the web site, other third-party publications and advertisements. The fact that you did not have the time to read the pre-order emails, or check the website for information regarding a game you are purportedly interested in, is not a valid legal argument. Neither is the fact that you took time off work. That's a personal decision which you based on presumptions (ignorant on your part and highly UN-professional) that you would be granted a specific amount of early game access along with a definitive notice of how and when it would occur; however, nothing was contracted and you have no claim to this. The ToS clearly states all of this information for you so I will not paste that information here. If you are too busy too read blatant legal information (as the lawyer you claim yourself to be) but not too busy to rant on the forums before doing a little research, I sincerely worry for the well being of your clientele. You might think you can sway this in your favor, but you can't manipulate the facts. Everything was worded for a purpose; to protect from people like you.
  15. This will continues as long as players, such as yourself, vent their incorrectly channeled frustration over it. YOU: "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" BW: "No and we will turn this early access around and no one will get to see launch if you keep that up!"
  16. I don't want to start any fighting, but I could say the same without any tangible evidence. Just sayin', there seems to be a whole lot of impatient finger pointing speculation going on and I really wish they'd have just locked the thread without the ability to comment. No one was promised 5 days or 7 days or any other amount. So I don't see the reason to fuss. I'd love to be in game playing right now too, but I'll wait my turn. Some people just feel that sense of entitlement tug at their logic center a little bit too hard.
  17. While I didn't enjoy either time I tried playing SWG, before and after the NGE patch, I would never wish such ill will on SWG or SOE. I'm not even a fan of SOE either! It wasn't the worst game I've ever played, and no one ever forced me to play it. I assume no one at SOE forced you to either. I tried it because a couple of my friends insisted I give it a chance, but I couldn't get into it and I won't go into a wall of text about it; however, my friends understood and I certainly didn't berate them for enjoying it either. /shrug
  18. I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself there. You don't know yet how much time you will get. For now, this is mere speculation with no tangible proof and you are forming negative conclusions based on possibilities, not facts. Never, that I can recall, has a company offered early access to a game (other than beta) for preorders. Now I could be wrong on that; however, I still firmly believe that BioWare's system was fair. They didn't guarantee anything other than you having secured the ability to play the game at launch (and the various extras associated with each preorder). Whether or not you got 5 days, 7 days, or 2 hours of pre-order time was never confirmed to you; thus, you haven't lost a thing. It's sometimes baffling to see people who feel slighted over what they incorrectly perceive to be entitled to. They aren't many, but they certainly make themselves heard (as was evident on the beta forums which thankfully are wiped). Personally I'd be happy with 2 hours of pre-launch playtime, but I'm not one to take vague possibilities as fact.
  19. From a different thread started with almost the exact same intent, here's my opinion on why this wouldn't really fix the problem (if it really is that big of an issue or just isolated incidences...I haven't seen anyone cite any personal examples or statistics yet). "I really don't believe that adding a companion need button would change anything. For all intents and purposes, it's just a duplicate greed button and not necessary. Yes, it would be considered a tier above greed rolls; however, that really just eliminates the usefulness of the greed button. One could make an argument that every piece of gear is an upgrade for their companion(s), and he/she wouldn't be wrong for doing so. Every class gets a companion(s) for each type; healer, tank, and DPS. I feel that greed would become an obsolete button, replaced by the companion need button. I'd rather BioWare implement a system that restricts classes from rolling need on gear they can't personally equip, before worrying any further about companion loot. I think if classes can't roll need on gear outside of their own use, it will eliminate a ton of debate of the need/greed rules of companion loot."
  20. It's definitely going to spark heavy debate on all sides. If you group within a guild, I cannot imagine it will be an issue. PUGs are a different story altogether. I say the best way to handle it would be to have the loot rules set and agreed upon before ever pulling the first mob in PUGs. This won't eliminate ninja looting altogether, but it wouldn't hurt as some people are simply going to be confused by having a companion. Some think of it as an extension of their own character and will argue that the companion gear is just as important in that respect. I really don't believe that adding a companion need button would change anything. One thing I am unclear on since I haven't been able to play yet is whether or not BioWare implemented loot that is restricted to class. For example, can Bounty Hunters still roll on lightsabers? I'd rather BioWare implement a system that restricts classes from rolling need on gear they can't personally equip, before worrying any further about companion loot. I think if classes can't roll need on gear outside of their own use, it will eliminate a ton of debate of the need/greed rules of companion loot.
