  1. This issue is really annoying and needs to be fixed imo. You can't even use the "cover where you are" button while you are rooted... The way it should work, is if you're using the "roll cover" ability when you get rooted, you just cover where you are standing instead and, obviously, if you are just using the non-roll cover it should just work. Its really ironic that I can't use my ability which roots me in place because I am rooted... ***?
  2. I think my highest was ~5900. This is vs. a cloth user with an ambush crit with 500 expertise, a champ weapon, the battleground +15% buff and about 900ish power in clickies running (adrenal + trinket). I think you could get it a bit higher if you used all that with the +15% pvp clicky potion thing which (i think?) stacks with the other stuff I mentioned.
  3. I disagree with this somewhat. I think SoS is a valid and important option for lethality, as you have talents that buff it as well. Typically a fight will look something like this: * Corrosive Grenade * Corrosive Dart * Weakening Shot * Cull * Takedown (if you can) However, even if you drop your target with either Cull/Takedown, you're going to need to wait on Corrosive Grenade's CD and Cull's CD, even though they aren't super long. During this window, what else are you going to do other than SoS/snipe? If you're hurting for energy you can spam Rifle Shot in this window, which is useful, but often you still have plenty of energy. If you're relying on Overload Shot during this window i'd really recommend not... it is horrible inefficient and not that much dps.
  4. Right. if you see multiple numbers, then you did all of those damage numbers in damage. However, If you ever see a number *change* into another number, that's when it auto-merged those values. Sometimes its hard to see when there are a lot of numbers flying around, which is why i really wish i could just turn off that functionality honestly.
  5. This still doesn't make any sense. It doesn't matter if a creature doesn't parry/dodge etc, as long as you're using something with consistency. Its more important to find something that you can use as a basis for comparison than anything else. If you want to make an argument that the comparison results will be skewed by using a lower level creature because of class-specific X or Y, thats fine. But just saying "you hit them more so this number is invalid" doesn't work. Not to mention anyone that says "It does seem that I crit alot more often on lower level targets" is fkn rofl to begin with. If you can find some great way to measure DPS beyond killing creatures with a timer I'm all ears buddy.
  6. You don't understand how their combat text works. If you damage something a few times very quickly, it will often merge those numbers and change one of the numbers you see instead of making a new one. When this happens, you didn't do that damage plus the other number you saw, you just did the total big number you see now. This happens with Rifle Shot most of the time... You'll see your first shot hit for like 400 and then that number will change to 800. You didnt just do 1200 damage, you did 800. Also I really don't even understand your Rifle Shot paragraph. * Rifle Shot only hits 2 times, but you're saying you see 800 a couple times and that results in 2100 dmg? * Even if you crit for 800 a tick with Rifle shot, that doesn't mean you "average" it to 2100. That would be assuming it crit 3 times I guess? It neither hits 3 times, nor crits every time. Also, WoW does the thing where you get a lot more critical hits on lower level creatures but I have to see that confirmed in this game, and until we get actual combat logs and parsers, this is about as good as we're going to get.
  7. We've been using a high HP guy out in Hoth, but any high HP guy you can find can work. Just time how long it takes to kill it and divide. It helps to have it be a lvl ~40 creature so you dont have to worry about surviving a long engagement. The guy we've been using is in Hoth in the top right corner elite area in the ship GY. I forgot his name but hes solo, has ~136k hp, is lvl 40, and doesn't do any disruption abilities that would mess with your DPS rotation.
  8. Yea we've been working on it. The problem we run into is that the balls are bugged and go invisible for a bit before they actually despawn, making it really hard to dodge them. But yea I tend to agree, although at least the MM burst is pretty decent for taking down Mind Traps... not that Cull wouldn't be equally effective, it just costs a lot more energy for that combo.
  9. This. I tested Marks @ about 1100 dps and Lethality @ about 900 dps. This is with "pure" specs (i.e. 31 points down the tree) and a mix of raid tier gear. I didn't get a chance to test Eng yet because, honestly, it looks like garbage. I still plan on testing it though, to make sure. However, as Ayestes says, these were tested under optimal conditions where I could just set up and never move... In any case where you are forced to move often, MM's dps will drop quite a bit. Fwiw, my Merc guildy with similar gear tested @ about 1150, but he only tested like twice and was confident he could get it higher after playing around with specs and rotations some more.
