  1. Has there been a patch that hasn't broken Ilum yet? I'm glad I got burnt out on the bugged up PvE already. That just leaves PvP for me!
  2. Bump because a majorly broken mechanic with no official feedback makes me question why I'm subbed.
  3. Before Scrubs hit 50, Republic didn't even go to Ilum on our server. Now we put up a good fight at the least.
  4. Bump and to reserve 2nd post just in case...
  5. http://www.twitch.tv/Sarne I haven't seen many streams for Vanguards, so I figured I'd share. Most of the <Scrubs> guild are Imperial rerolls to the Republic. I typically group with Real Girl as my healer. My spec is: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hRGMboroMZMsrboZbc.1 I'll make this thread prettier, but frankly we're missing out on Ilum time.
  6. If you read their posts, there was no super-omg-tons of valor exploit. There was simply farming republic characters at their spawn to the tune of 40-220 valor per kill. At most, that translates to 10k valor an hour with a steady stream of Republics to farm. With that math, there was maybe a 24hr period that they could have done this so 240k valor. That's not even 50-60 valor rank. There are no freebie Battlemasters. Sorry.
  7. Last post I swear. Just taking my last post into context, the time required of both will forever by static and dynamic... PvEers WILL (eventually) down the static boss. PvPers WILL NOT always win. It's difficult to put their progression into a time frame. In a world where winning a PvP match granted 5 gear tokens and downing a raid boss granted 50 tokens, after 2 weeks (clears) the raiders have it on farm and can perform the muscle memory in their sleep. The PvPers know their class inside and out and never miss a keystroke, they still can lose because they don't always have their opposition on farm no matter how good they are because there is always someone better. No matter how it turns out, one side will progress faster than the other even with the same gear, and fingers will be pointed and names will be called. With them segregated, its easier to brush it off as, "That guy owned me, but he's in full Battlemaster" or "No, you're in full PvP gear and don't know these fights. I'm taking this guy in blue who knows what he's doing" *teabag person later in PvP*. TLDR; PvP is harder than PvE because it is dynamic. You cannot (fairly) reward both the same.
  8. I'm sorry, but PvE and PvP are different and will always remain so. In PvE the difficulty is static. You can change the level, but it will always remain so. You will always face Gharmok or whatever his name is. He won't have a new trick up his sleeve or a different spec the next time you face him (unless there's a patch obviously). In PvP the difficulty is dynamic. You may face a full group of random ******* and completely steamroll them or you may face 2 of the best premades on the server and get completely steamrolled with a solid random group. It is impossible to equal out these two plains. Dynamic does not equal Static. I don't see how it could ever be possible to reward both sides equally other than to keep them separated. Good luck and goodnight.
  9. You reiterate my argument. No premade in their right mind is going to let the PvE only player tag along. My argument (of previous threads) remains that expertise needs a buff. PvEers can be quite effect in PvP while the effectiveness of a PvPer is rather shameful in PvE. PvP epics are equivalent to blues or even some greens in PvE. With this being the case, you're saying PvE gear needs an even bigger edge? You PvEers get your PvE gear as a reward, us PvPers get our PvP gear as a reward. They are good at what they do. What exactly is the problem?
  10. It is a problem because both of us worked equally hard down that one path and I don't want Joe Schmoe the Noob stinking up my Warzone in his endgame PvE gear thinking he's a boss. In this scenario, Joe takes the huttball because he's main tank and thinks he's God. He gets shredded by PvPers in endgame PvP gear. Joe should know that he's no longer the main tank in PvP because he hasn't worked for that end. Neither should I with my PvP tank gear and ridiculously mixed PvP tank spec expect to strut into your 16 man nightmare mode and tank it like a boss. Would that be fair to Joe Schmoe who tanks that in his sleep with his epix? Keep the two game styles separated and let us keep our advantage over the AI farmers. Neither scenario is fair to either party and in the interest of keeping the peace leave it alone. Now say is PvP and PvE overlapped like in some other game, perhaps, but not this game.
  11. I care that my PvP gear came from PvP. I hate PvE. If I had to PvE to stay competitive, I wouldn't play this game anymore as the PvE is awful. PvE (generally) harbors awful players. PvE players only care about phat loots and occasional challenges. PvP gear is just as difficult, if not more difficult to obtain (particularly Battlemaster gear, requiring rank 60) than PvE gear. PvP gear is substantially worse in PvE. Notice the lack of a tertiary stat in place of Expertise. I have no problem with my PvP gear not being modable to PvP gear. I can mod everything I want to on it as a PvP player.
  12. Then why are you complaining? Do you want class restrictions on pvp gear? How about spec restrictions? I'm a Powertech tank, I wear Powertech dps gear. Am I doing something wrong?
  13. He's smarter than you, because you CAN wear tank gear and think you can't? Are you complaining that BW gave you customization options that are unfamiliar to you?
  14. They've stated they will never allow this. I don't remember where I saw my source for this, but it shouldn't be terribly hard to find. I wish they would though. I'm valor rank 60+ on my Imperial and working on a Republic alt for numerous reasons...
