  1. Snipers have by far worst community at forums, since they cant play their class and dont realize how awesome it is.

In the end, such community could be only negative for the class because if they whine loud enough it will be dumbed down.

Are there snipers that do EXTREMELY well? Yes. Why are you not one of them? Pick one:

    1) Class is bad

    2) You are bad

  2. Welcome to the benefits of Assassins/Shadows 150% Armor Stance, it's the ONLY thing that benefits greatly due the the priority-like % buffs.

It's not the same with Surge or any other stat, just the Assassin/Shadow armor increase.

No, already tested with other things that can be seein in char window. For example +stats stims are applied before the +% class buffs.

  3. Was testing adrenals on my sin and found out that if using adrenal, that say.. gives you 1000 armor, in dark charge i actually get 2500 armor.

Which means - adrenal buffs are applied BEFORE talent multiplicators.

Now say you use adrenal that gives you surge and uses ability, thats talented for 50% more critical damage. Say your surge is 50, adrenal is 50, ability buff is 50%. It will be not

75+50=125 surge on that ability, as it should be. But (50+50)*1.5=150

Obviously, the larger the numbers the higher they scale. Some talents and abilities benefit GREATLY from it.

I cant get how Bioware missed such a mechanic...

  4. There already is arena - in the open world where you can gather with your friends/enemies and pvp in setup you like.

Wait, you mean the one with special maps, progression, pillars, gear and rewards, limited small teams e.t.c.?

    No. Go

    cook

    yourself, wow carebear.

  5. GMs responce is never an "official stance". The thing is GMs are authorized only to act in specific described cases. Currently theres no directive on that.

It was already stated that they have metrics to easely find out the exploiters, and valor exploiters will be punished. Expect them first to change the system so that exploit couldn't occur again and THAN punish by bans and/or rollback the people involved.

  6. I am usually a Sorc advocate, having played one myself, but seeing amount of complaints i see an easy solution for that that:

    1) Will not affect PvE

    2) Will not nerf Shield sustanability

    3) Will not make Shield completely useless in pvP

    4) Benefit Sorcs themselves since they get the same ability.

    Suggestion:

Every class gets an ability on 2 minutes cooldown that removes 2 positive effects from target. The removal hallens in order of priority:

    1st - defensive bubles

    2nd - healing dots

    3rd - positive procs

    4rd - class buffs.

So when used on say, shielded Sorc with heal dot on - it will remove shield and a dot.

When used on tank with buble, it will remove buble and for example some of the procs he had.

If used on player without bubles/procs, it will remove 2 buffs.

Being on 2 minute cooldown an ability will not be overpowered and thus will not render shields completely useless in pvp, and also like Jolt it adds a lot of tactical gameplay, for example watching your enemy get the procs for certain ability.. and than debuffing it.

    Your thoughs?

  7. Bolster is ok and working as intended.

The problem is that higher level players loosing benefits from bolster gradually, dont keep their gear up to date. If you gear up properly, at any point, at any level you will be in huge advantage over bolstered players.

If you are lvl 40 in lvl20 green gear, that only relied on bolster in warzones - well, too bad for you.

  8. Working as intended.

Exactly half of the ingame attacks can be perried/shielded, the other half cannot. People seriously underestimate the effect of parry/shields in pvp. Fighting other melee they are vital, against snipers/scoundrels/BH they are great. Force and Tech attacks ignore them, but when you are attacked by multiple players hitting you in melee, shooting at range and casting - you sure as hell would love to have Dark Ward or high shielding attributes on rather than not.

Seriously, when Assassin pops up behind your back and use two mauls one of which is dodged and another absorbed, you cant complain about whole "shields and parry" being absolute useless. They are not.

  9. Haven't tried this spec yet due to my insanely high respec costs (99880 creds) but if anyone wants to try it out or discuss, feel free and post up your findings. Currently I'm using 2/31/8 but the lack of survivability in 50 WZs are really hurting. Full Champion/Valor 48.

    http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200McMskZhRrMZf0cRr0z.1

The spec is based on using Thrash to get the Energized procs which will guarantee a 100% crit. The crit will cause Exploitive Strikes to proc and increase your chances of getting a Raze proc.

    Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Edit: Oh, you will be using Dark Charge and a shield offhand with DPS Gear.

This is similar to the spec i use, except i did not take Raze and Death field (made build for specific purpose in team pvp, and watering him down by Death Field was pointless, since it should have excelled in concrete purpose in price of utility and varsatality).

I also play mainly in Dark Charge, so took upgrades for it, while ignoring Discharge buffs completely - i dont use it, AT ALL.

The build works just fine for me, really easy to play and great in team. The only downside being low utility (no out of stealth spike, no low slash, no pull). But for its purpose its great.

  10. ok atma name me 1 mmo that has stamped out cheating..if u can ill happily unsub and go play that game..but ill bet u 1million credits u cant

AoC had exact same issue as SWTOR - people farming each other for PvP xp to gain PvP levels fast. Guess what? Community basically told - you fix it and punish them, or there will be no community and just exploiters that would move on since they maxed otu everything anyway. And guess what? All of the exploiters were banned/rolled back.

It was amusing what percentage of "leet pvpers" suddenly disappeared, and then week later reappeared with 0 pvp levels and more timid then before.

  11. Mad at biowares since:

    1) It was pretty obvious that if they implemented it in current form it would be exploited, it happened in other MMOs and one though Bioware would learn on mistake of others...

    2) Since there still was no strong stange on that matter - no one is punished, not even answer tellign they will fix the mechanic that allows that exploit. Which is a really really bad sign for the game in long term.

Its either Bioware starts banning exploiters, or in few month theres only exploiters who will be left in this game, as all honest players would move on.

  12. I would totally agree with you, if Ilum was working as intended. It doesn't.

Big part of "illum not working as intended" is players that exploit it and thus destroy the enjoyment of game for everyone else.

Sorry, but exploiting "because game sucks" is still exploiting.

  13. Uh, you wouldn't get banned for that? A Bioware rep confirmed that it wasn't against the Tos agreement.

You get fake "screenshot" of game support droid (usually most clueless and powerless creature you can find in universum) vs the statement of the developers at post adressing Illum issues that they will address valor farmers and punish the exploiters.

    Which one is more valid?

One again - i seen exploiters like yourself million times, always arguing "its not exploit","devs are guilty since they made it so!" e.t.c. Be it pvp rating, gold, raid gear farming or whatever.

Its always the same song, and theres always the same outcome. 1) Exploits arent fixed - community abandons the game because achieving the goals honestly becomes pointless, competition not fair, exploiting ignored. 2) Exploits addressed and exploiters punished.

People were banned for less, much less. Minimum you can expect is valor rollback. Though if it were my decision, i would ban the people to state an example.

  14. it's not against rules of conduct.

It's a result of a broken quest where both people do not take pleasure from but wants to get it over with.

Heard that million times in other games. The bad one let it go and ended poorly. All the decent one took action and eventually punished exploiters. It was enjoyable to see how suddenly all the leet PvPers that made pvp levels in a days suddenly disappeared.

Bioware already stated that they have metrics and can and will eventually punish valor exploiters. Considering they are interested in long term success of SWTOR, addressing such game breaking exploits is of high priority to not have playerbase dissatisfied.

As soon as they change the valor gain mechanic so that the farming would not be possible, expect bans to fly around to the persons that were too impatient to play legal way and too dumb to realize that they will be punished for obvious exploit.

  15. This has been well known for a while now, kill trading is not against the TOS and as of current is considered, "clever use of in game mechanics".

But yes, this is the best way to "farm" ilum as it were.

    Enjoy your bans.
