  1. For those too lazy to read the Community Q&A (http://www.swtor.com/blog/community-qa-feb-10th-2012) Here's an outline of the upcoming changes for 1.2. New species/class options unlocked via the legacy system New warzone (faction vs faction, like Hutt Ball) Pre-season of PvP ranking system Medium/heavy social gear Guild banks Hue to Chest system - matches the hue of your chest piece to the rest of your armor so that custom gear can look the same Target of target on primary target and party frames Target of target visible cast bars Lots of UI preferences (positioning, sizing, etc) Here's an outline of upcoming changes that don't have an ETA: "Legacy System will take some first steps towards incentivizing players to look at what the other side has to offer" (regarding faction balance) Character transfers Guild capital ships Rare items, limited availability items, more treasure hunts, and "some big surprises for the community to discover and work together to figure out." "... dual spec is in the works and coming soon." Cross-server queuing (only warzones mentioned). You still have the option of queuing against players on your server. You're welcome.
  2. They stated you have the option of choosing "server only" queues.
  3. Really? I feel with the lack of keys that Sage has a lower skill cap. My Vanguard had buttons coming out his *** and on my Sage I'll have 3 buttons open my bottom two bars.
  4. My record today is 7-1. Yesterday it was 7-3. Anytime I remove one of their players from the playing field it's a bonus to our team. As long as it's meaningful (killing blows) damage and not just random AoE damage it's always a bonus to the team.
  5. Force Armor Force Speed Dots AoE (instant cast) with heals (although small) Massive damage Pull (for Hutt ball) I'm currently valor rank 27 and I just did 323k in a warzone at level 31 with 60 kills (28 killing blows), 0 deaths, and 9 medals. I did over twice the damage of the person below me. Having leveled a vanguard and guardian to 50 I have to say - Sage is so ezmode and I love it.
  6. Don't compare 40 man raid's in 2004 to < 20 man raids in 2012. The difficulty wasn't the content it was finding 40 competent people.
  7. Or it might keep people interested and subscribed. You never know.
  8. Ah, I missed that. I guess my QQ glasses were on and I skip over anyone stating they unsubscribed. If they've quit, fine, but they can't offer me or the community anything constructive.
  9. Hah! I've always been a tank and the instant queue's were pretty nice.
  10. The content in SWG for my friend and I were to hunt down and dispose of Jedi. We were true bounty hunters, though, and before delivering a killing blow would offer them to double our bounty in exchange for their life. This, of course, was a good deal for them as it meant it saved them potentially hours of grinding experience. We had one Jedi agree and then try to run. We spent the next week or so stopping him from gaining any experience what so ever. Player content, interesting.
  11. 40 man raids were the worst thing ever. My friend and I were discussing how we ever managed to gather such a group. I guess we didn't do it very successfully because we wiped a lot to people standing in purple circles of doom, or failing to cleanse (back when decurse was a single button).
  12. People keep saying LFR. Does that mean Looking for Raid? If so, that's .... insane.
  13. I won't comment on PvE since I haven't done most of it. For PvP, I got most of my champion set in a single week. That is far far far less time than it took me to get my blue honor based set in WoW's PvP system. I don't know if it's different now but I was very pleased with the gear rate in PvP. I'm leveling my third 50 now and it should be even faster with the changes, a welcome change. I hate the 4 second stuns and resolve system. I wish they would have just copied DR from WoW which was a very complex and interesting system. I disagree with interrupts being useless. Interrupts are off the global cooldown and at the very least require the target to waste time casting whatever it was they were casting. If you know what spells to interrupt then doing so is very useful and can often net a kill which otherwise would have failed. I don't mind any of the warzones except for Hutt Ball. I liked it at first but now I tend to just go in there and focus on killing people instead of completing the objective. That brings me to another point - there isn't enough reward for doing the objective. I can get more medals (and comms) by drawing a match out and finishing it instead of winning as fast as we can. Furthermore, the medals need to be more fairly distributed among the various classes. As a 50 guardian/powertech getting 10 medals in a game was trivial. As a sage it's far more difficult and I generally only net 6ish medals per game. I like that WoW's crafting gave you a stat bonus that was mostly equivalent across all the professions. For example, jewel crafting had special gems, blacksmithing had the belt socket thing, etc. They also had one or two items that would be equivalent with or better than heroic's so you had a sense of accomplishment there as well. If BioWare gave everyone some sort of stat bonus akin to the stimpacks from Biochem I'd imagine there would be far less complaining about the system. LFG would be a welcome addition. Screw this "community" stuff. People have jobs, real life obligations, etc. When I login I want to be able to do whatever I want as quickly as possible. If 30% of my time is finding a group that's not very efficient use of my play/fun time. Thanks for your input.
  14. Yah, I miss SWG's sandbox but that's another topic all together.
  15. " and have beat every single HM FP" "(I refuse to do HM/NM)" I'm confused. Have you done HM or not?
  16. Thanks for your input. A lot has changed since I've played WoW. Don't we have commendations that are essentially valor points?
  17. I think the perceived amount of endgame content depends on whose doing it. I have only done one hard mode with my group since release. To me, there's *plenty* of endgame content. Your hardcore raiders will never have enough content. People in the middle are, well, in the middle.
  18. They're probably riding the rumor mill and not reading patches notes. *cough cough*
  19. I honestly think that has a LOT to do with the # of players in a raid and less with the difficulty of the dungeon. Getting 40 competent people is VERY hard to do.
  20. Rise of Rakghouls is new content. I stopped reading there because you obviously haven't read the patch notes.
  21. This is my #1 issue with the game as well. They claim to be reducing the affect gear will have on PvP soon so my opinion may change. I wish there was a way to reward PvP and PvE players with equal gear that could be swapped freely between PvE/PvP without affect the game play of either. Wishful thinking on my part...
  22. Skip my post next time? People compare it to WoW because it's the game to compare to. It doesn't matter how you feel about the game... the vast majority of MMO players have played it. When you go to Chipotle you don't compare it to bob & joe's shack down the street you compare it to Qdoba because it's the competition.
