  1. One question. Are you making sure that you are always logging out in a rest area? You earn rested bonus during the time that you are logged out in a rest area, such as anywhere on fleet, your ship, or any planet's cantina. Build up a decent amount of rested bonus on one character while you play another. Also, there could be more to it regarding the claims of people getting to max level in a week. Perhaps they have unlocked all of the bonus xp character perks in their legacy. There are several tiers of unlocks to earn more xp from class quests, warzones, space missions, and exploration. And keep in mind that it is generally true in most MMOs that your first character takes longer to level than your second, and your second longer than your third, and so on. This is because there is a bit of learning curve involved in every game. After you've done it once, you have a better understanding of what you're doing. By the third or fourth alt, you are pretty much an expert as to what quests you need to take and what to skip because it's out of the way and not worth the time. Doing the dailies every day is a pretty good way to knock out levels. If you don't hate PvP, then grab the daily and weekly quests from the PvP terminal. Queue up while you're questing on a planet. At most, you will have to only do two a day to complete the daily. If you do them every day then the odds are good that at least three of them that week will be winners so you can turn in the weekly. As an added bonus, grab the daily Flashpoint quests as well and after completing all of your PvP quests and when you're done on a planet, queue up for a Flashpoint. When its over you can leave and choose to exit back to fleet to turn in your Flashpoint dailies and your PvP dailies. And there is always xp boosts from the CM or mission rewards if you're a subscriber.
  2. I'm thinking he meant if he consolidated his credits from his 3 toons, not 2 mil on each. At least I hope that's what he meant. Still a bit of a stretch.
  3. I have a Note II and how I deal with this is I kill the app after I use it. It seems to happen when you leave it running in the background and it cycles a new code. After I type in my code, I tap the home button, then from the home screen hold the home button, then swipe the app away. I prefer to use my phone in portrait so I have auto rotate turned off, but the landscape tactic works too.
  4. Is there a sync button on the mobile app? I had both the blizzard mobile key and the one for rift stop working before. Just had to tap the sync button to get it working again.
  5. I've had this happening since shortly after getting my naga back in February. There were other threads about it back then. Here's one that I dug up. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=214913&highlight=razer+naga It may just be a placebo, but it seems like when I'm having this problem, I make a very minor change to the dpi settings in synapse and the problem goes away for the rest of that gaming session. Though the next time I log in the problem inevitably returns. Sometimes it's really bad and makes moving with the mouse unplayable. Other times it happens infrequently.
  6. I'm guessing you've never heard of Auto Assault or Tabula Rasa
  7. Actually, both times that I've used the LFG tool on my Sith Sorc, I did deselect healer and then queued, closed the window, opened it up and I was flagged for both dps and heals. Both times this happened and I had to deselect healer and click Update Roles. This is the only character that I've had this happen on but that may be because all the other characters I've played I was healing. Edit: By the way, I'm spec'd Madness
  8. Wait for the shininess to wear off. Players have to understand that people are excited about the transfers and are making time to play outside their normal playtime.
  9. I'm thinking that since EA is the publisher, it's probably their marketing department that is responsible for advertising. I would suggest that, since most fans of Star Wars are fans because of the movies (I know there are books and an animated series too, but lets face it, the movies are probably the most common gateway for Star Wars fans), they should partner up with Movie Cash and put a free movie ticket in the box. They could also include a code to allow buyers to download the soundtrack from iTunes for the music lovers. Also, the software can be downloaded, so there is really no need for the software to be packaged in a box. EA could sells cards that have an activation code on them and have them placed at check out lines or placed where gift cards are sold. They could also urge retailers to move the game to end caps instead of mixed in with dozens of other titles. Let it stand out from the crowd. Or package the game in a Star Wars lunchbox, replicas of the circa 1977 ones that, in mint condition, are selling the over $100 in some cases. This would be great for geeks and parents. I would buy one and take my food to work in it for sure. Of course, BW is still going to need to work on much needed improvements, but a better marketing campaign couldn't hurt.
  10. I would like to add to this thread the problem I keep seeing with channeled abilities. I play both an IA Op and a Sith Sorc. On both toons I have channeled abilities that can be chain cast. For my IA, it's Diagnostic Scan, and on my Sorc it's talented Force Lightening. The problem that I have noticed is that if I wait until the cast bar hits 0 and drops off, then I always have to hit the button 2 or 3 times to get it to start casting again, but if I watch the cast bar as I channel and hit the button again when the cast bar hits 0.5 seconds left, it usually fires off again with a single press to the hotkey. Has anyone else noticed this?
  11. Hate to break it to ya, but what we're all going to be doing tomorrow is waiting in a server queue, disconnects, and server restarts. Don't take it as I'm trashing the game. I'm excited about 1.2 and can't wait to experience it. But how often do games this new get a major content patch live without any hitches. Just being realistic. Wouldn't mind if I was wrong though.
  12. 6 years in the making. All that time the devs were getting paid, marketers were getting paid, CEOs CFOs, HR, mail room personnel, etc. The box price is to recover the expense of the development. You have access to the game for 30 without being charged a subscription fee, which is to cover ongoing development. I've never seen a game company not require you to set up a recurring subscription without entering billing information. Except free trials which usually means you haven't even purchased the game yet, and again, I've never seen a game company offer a free trial to such a young MMO.
  13. What he said. It takes some getting used to, but you'll eventually get into the habit of running up to loot/interact and turning your camera to the side a bit. Pretty soon you just start doing it without thinking. At least I did.
  14. The Atari had a joystick and a single button. The NES had 4 directions and 2 action buttons. A PS3 has a thumb-stick, 4 directions, 4 bumpers, and 4 action buttons, and it even has a button that lets you turn off the system without getting up (thats a convenient feature that only the latest iteration of console games share, does that make it a crutch?) When all we had was that controller with 4 directions and 2 buttons, did we miss the additional buttons? No, because we didn't know any better. Controls evolve just the same way that games get better, more advanced, and more engaging. It is, without a doubt, more efficient the fewer mouse clicks/button presses you have to make to get the job done. Why do so many people have a problem with this concept?
