  1. I think that's amusingly naive. If they'd really wanted to destroy Hammer Station, they wouldn't have officially sent it on a slow cruise into a conveniently distant star. After all, random adventurers (admittedly, above average folks, but still not rocket surgeons) can input a command to make it tear itself apart in mere minutes. Do you honestly think that the station's designers and builders didn't see that possibility? No, what really happened is that they left the station in a supposedly out of the way system and told people they'd destroyed it. It would have been useful if hostilities broke out again (as they did) or information about the station's true fate (or the station itself) could be used as a bargaining chip. The Advozse Hegemony were actually sold the thing; it was presented to them in a deniable fashion, which led to the absurd slow boat to the sun disposal story. Republic secrecy and corruption at work.
  2. The list doesn't forget Alacrity; more Alacrity isn't better than less Alacrity if it doesn't do anything. His list doesn't include Alacrity for the same reason that it doesn't include Defense, Shield, or Absorb. In fact, Defense is better than Alacrity since Theran will end up having enemies attack him, and a dead healer is no help at all. Actually, Alacrity may be a negative stat, since I believe Holiday is channeled (the equivalent ability on other healers is) and Alacrity (as a rule) speeds up channel times. Having CC ending sooner is not a good thing.
  3. How the heck is Cunning repeatedly being valued at around 20% of Aim? Since we're only talking about healing here, and all heals count as Tech abilities, and Cunning does everything that Aim does for Tech... both power and crit, and at the same rate. It should certainly be valued lower than Aim, at least if you take the +9% Aim talent (and Aim is more important still if you factor in any actual ranged abilities). But Cunning being valued that low suggests something wrong with your model. Unless I'm terribly confused, it should be worth ~ 92% of Aim. (Cunning is worth just over 92% of Aim with the Consular buff, just under without.) Remove Ironsights and they should be dead even, as far as healing is concerned. You still won't want to stack any Cunning if you can help it, because Aim is more valuable (between Ironsights and the sporadic bouts of actually shooting stuff) and generally displaces Cunning on gear.
  4. Commando/Assault = Merc/Pyrotech Every ability and talent that Mercenaries have access to, Commandos do, too, just like all the other mirror classes. (With the singular exception of swapping proficiency in dual blasters for assault cannons.) The biggest difference, I suspect, is that Pyrotech has the appeal of an ability named 'Thermal Detonator' sitting at the end of the tree instead of the equally effective (but less awesomely named) Assault Plastique.
  5. The Empire is legally rascist; there's a widespread belief that Sith blood (carried exclusively, pretty much, by pureblood Sith and mixed-blood humans) is the source of their force abilities, a belief supported by the fact that everybody who has the whole redskin thing going on is force sensitive at least. It's also complete BS, since the founders of the Sith Empire were human Dark Jedi conquistadors, with the conquered Sith as their slaves. The Republic race relations are a lot more like the modern US, where human racial supremacy was the law of the land for thousands of years when the Pius Dea movement controlled the Republic. And while Pius Dea and its Crusades haven't been government policy for millenia, humans are still the upper crust of an astonishing amount of the galaxy, their language is probably the most widely spoken, and their probable homeworld is the capital of the Republic. A whole lot of folks (human and non) regard humans as the norm, an idea that tends to get support since there are races, such as the Chiss and Miraluka, which actually are offshoots of humanity. And then there's the fact that humans are, if not a majority, certainly a plurality of the known galaxy's inhabitants.
  6. In what may have been a bit of bugginess, I just blitzed Drogan and then waited a couple minutes watching the chick fight, healing Bowdaar (slowly) with a medical unit. By the time he was topped off, despite the opponents' health bars not moving, they'd managed to cause enough threat to each other that my opponent died before switching aggro to me; Bowdaar just died in the AoE before he did much one war or t'other.
