  1. Could be the CPU, 2.5 is more like a 2008 gaming computer speed, we're in 2012 now! You should be getting higher fps than that though, I get 20-30fps in warzones on: 2GB DDR2 ram AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.6ghz Geforce 9800GT 512MB I'm also looking to upgrade, I was planning on a card similar to yours as well as overclocking my CPU to 3.0+ and getting an extra 2gb of ram. But after seeing your performance I'm a little worried it might be a waste of money.
  2. Genius, I love it. I don't know how people aren't picking up on what you're trying to do but it's hilarious. Your warzone PVP strategy guide is another favourite of mine.
  3. Your system is plently, sounds like another problem to me.
  4. Hey guys, just wanted to update. Installing XP worked! I was clutching at straws when I tried, but it was obviously a ram issue! I even have plenty of free ram on XP now. Just wanted to let you know, if anyone is having issues with Windows 7 and 2gb memory then you now know the answer.
  5. They seem to turn fully off for me. I just logged on to a full server with lots of people in the starter area. I was getting a whopping 8fps!
  6. Thanks, I guess I'll have to to find an XP disk and install it on a partition to see if it makes a difference. If it makes a slight difference I'll be buying an extra 2gb of ram. Thanks for the help!
  7. Seriously, 60FPS? Now i'm jealous haha. I've tried every setting from high to low, shadows off etc, still drops down into 20fps quite a lot, even at 800x600 low, 1980x1020 doesn't seem to lower fps much more. Could having low ram really affect my performance so much? As far as I know Windows 7 uses about 350, leaving me with 1650. I've heard you can get XP down to 100mb with some tweaks, leaving me with a bit more ram. Did you get decent FPS even in the large outdoor areas with all of the characters and npcs?
  8. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately my CPU and Motherboard are really finicky and I can't get over a 100mhz overclock without blue screening and needing to reset my CMOS. My CPU is already running at 60c+ load too which is a problem! I also can't afford an upgrade at the minute. I'm pretty stuffed. I've already tried what was recommended in the thread you linked too, no help so far. One thing I forgot to mention, when I turn the fps display on in-game it's green. People say green means your GPU is the problem and red means CPU. However it sounds like the indicator may not be working properly if a GPU overclock and low res is doing nothing to help.
  9. Are there any skilled tech users here who can help me with some issues? I'm getting 20 FPS outside in the 1-10 starting areas, a lot of indoor areas are just as bad, which is pretty unplayable for me. My setup is: GeForce 9800GT 512MB AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core 2.6ghz 2GB DDR2 RAM Windows 7 32-bit This is pretty low spec nowadays I know but I've heard of people getting decent FPS with a similar setup. I thought my GPU was bottlenecking me but I overclocked it by a decent 15% and turned all game settings to low and the resolution to 800x600 and it barely made a difference in FPS. Now I'm thinking that I might not have enough RAM as a lot of the time it's saying 0 free in the performance tab of task manager and physical memory is usually 90%+ I wonder if going back to Windows XP would free up enough ram? Seems to use about 250mb less than Windows 7. Oh and I get 60fps in a barren area in a part of the sith starter zones. There are no cities or anything around, just a few mobs. Bioware's system requirements for this game are ridiculous, mine are a fair bit higher than what they've put, someone with those specs would get <10fps. Thanks.
