So far deleting the bitraider folder has worked for me but I have to do it every time I start the game.

And I cannot log into any character that's not doing a starter world because the game doesn't think it's downloaded yet.

I'm stuck on the character selection screen. After downloading a patch and updating (which took almost an hour) I get to char sel screen and it says I can only go to starter planets and quick uploader on top of screen says 0%. If I try going to repair game it won't let me b/c game doesn't recognize that I downloaded a patch and am having issues (option is greyed out). Several people have reported this on forums.
This. Please add "not being able to log into characters" as a known issue nd maybe try to get it fixed asap.

Same. Any character not on a starting world says it needs to wait for the game to download even though it is full patched.

Same issue.
I was able to log in after the servers came back up but now all my character that are not on a starting world cannot be played and it says I have to wait to download the game again.

It is not intended that you can customize Shay, outside of the one of the three Shay Customizations you can get from her Alert. This is a bug, and will be addressed in a future patch. Anything she is wearing will be returned to you when she is updated.
Why.... why would you remove one of the best features of the old (far, far, far superior) companion system?
Just leave well enough alone for once please you moon-faced assassins of joy.

so in other words it's just like the rest of the game where the only content people group for is Ops and Fps.
People complain that it's not group content yet if they made it group content people would be complaining they they are being forced to group with people so either way it's damned if they do and damned if they don't.
I played all the 1-50 planet stories +Makeb and side quests on multiple characters grouped with my wife, breaking off only to do class stories solo. The shift to the majority of content being in solo only instances is, for us, a large and unwelcomed change.

It is perfectly fine for people to have their own opinions about a story and the 4.0 changes. Anecdotally, I've been hearing nothing but positive things in gen chat. Hearing about how people love the story, how awesome it is, what their favorite dialogue has been...that gives me the impression that a lot of people like the expansion so far. This is from people in-game, not on the forums. It is really difficult to quantify just how many like the changes vs those who don't. Personally, I take more stock in the opinions of people actually in the game and playing it, then those who played for 5 minutes and rage-quit. I'm not saying that is you, but there are definitely a few like that whining on the forums.
The problem is will people love it as much the third, fourth, or tenth time? People loved the storytelling too when SWtOR first launched and then subscriber numbers fell through the floor because it turned out most people were happy to see it one time and move on.
So will the non story elements keep people playing and paying month to month? For me the answer so far is no.

I doubt it subs will drop by 50% but I've certainly already ended mine. I may resub once or twice a year to to catch up on the story but I'm not finding anything worth paying month to month for anymore.

Played since early access, canceled last night.
Simply put they took away to much and added to little. I hate the classic conversations with a burning passion. The story, eh if I care to keep up wit it I'll resub once or twice a year for a month and catch up. I simply not interested in running through the exact same story time and time again with all my alts.
Being able to choose your companions role is nice but I liked them better when they had one role and unique abilities instead of simple being a re-skin of the exact same abilities. I also enjoyed gearing my companions so moving to appearance only gear for them makes me unhappy.
End game gear is now a joke, I primarily tank and the only choice remaining the ratio of shield to absorb. Re-grinding one to four year old content to end up exactly like every other tank and then have it be irrelevant on most of the planets I visit anyways (because my stats will be readjusted to the planets cap no-matter what my gear is) holds no appeal to me.
Fortunately some of the game I loved is still exists in the 1-50 range and can be played for free so that is a win I guess. It's unfortunate that having the majority of my characters credits locked away in escrow accounts will make it effectively impossible to keep up with new decorations and strongholds, I got a lot of enjoyment out of those and bought many a hyper-crate because of it.

Hate it and cancelled my subscription today. While there are many things I disliked Classic Conversation Presentation was the last straw for me.

I am extremely disappointed in the shift to "Classic Conversation Presentation". Some of my favorite moments from the game were the back and fourth full voiced companion talks.
Getting more of them was probably the only thing I was truly excited for in all of KotFE (along with a great many changes I dislike).

I'm sure many will be okay with this new format but I find it incredibly disappointing and it greatly diminishes my enthusiasm for one of the very few things I was looking forward to with this expansion.
I'm very much on the fence as if there is enough of the game I loved for the past 4 years left to be worth paying for but everything I have seen so far since the patch leads me to suspect the answer is no.

So can you explain like I'm 5 what the big win with shanking is? It's essentially tank spec, (mostly) dps gear and soresu, or did I miss something? What's the significant payoff that enrages opponents so much compared to being "just" dps or "just" tank?
It sounds to me like it is vengeance spec, mostly DPS gear but with a shield and switching into Soresu when focused or to guard as needed, and back out when damaging. I would imagine the rage comes from you being able to move between DPS and tanking effectively as the situation demands.

I'm not talking about flashpoints...
Although since were on the subject, as someone who mostly tanks, having all leveling flashpoints converted to solo/tactical is another design decision I hate.

What part of "not like they are going to nerf you" did you miss? They are giving you a buff if UNDER leveled. I over leveled so be it., you dont need a buff, and thus wont be affected. They are NOT going to DEBUFF you.
That is not what I am hearing at all. There are many situations where they are lowering your level to match old content. If you want to know more I suggest reddit.

BioWare has been consistently terrible at communicating with the play base so it is no surprise people turn to outside sources.

It sounds like you already addressed my major complaint with the platinum pack which was that when I opened mine I got junk (an End color crystal...
).I do really like the idea of a Hyoercrate guaranteeing at least one valuable item and having a (worthwhile) platinum pack come with them will make me more likely to buy them in the future.

This happened in a pug I was in too. One of the DPS got locked out after dieing and releasing during the fight.

That really sucks as I was 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through on multiple characters.

I would rather have force pull than this crap. I already have have taunt, AOE and high threat with my attacks. Why would I need another 100% threat generation move when Force Pull could do that same thing while pulling the enemy to me.
They are not going to give us Force Pull and even if they did it would replace one of our four active discipline abilities not Force Grip.
